  Roof cocktails at Harry Deane; Avoid Establishment, but head upstairs to Hemmesphere or downstairs to Palmer & Co. Downstairs French joint called Hubert... cool for a drink, but it's more of a restaurant. I'd recommend getting out of the CBD when all the blow-ins come in for their night out on Saturday night... head to Surry Hills or Bondi or Double Bay. In Double Bay... Mrs Sippy might suit your style. Pelicano would be very party friendly on Friday and Saturday... door policy is definitely based on looks if that's your thing. Wouldn't say any of these spots are 'play' friendly... guess it all depends on your charm on the night. Enjoy Sydney!

  I've posted the below in a previous thread. My vote would be Baxters Inn, and Palmers. They are nice bars (though both with a speakeasy feel) and are centrally located.
