Longest dry spell

So are you currently in a dry spell and can you compare to my 6 years?
What's your personal best in this regard. I've got a proper decade under my belt
While my intent is not to go for a new personal best, you can bet i'll be talking about it if it happens. Do you openly discuss it with anyone or is it a source of shame instead?

I was interested in the quiz they had asking how long it had been, long spell's aren't that uncommon.
I lived with my ex as a flatmate for 6 years, and never touched anyone in that time.
When I tell people they are usually spun out by the fact that we lived together like that for so long and the fact I didn't touch anyone, or even want to :)RHP User

Do I feel shame for it?? To an extent yes as it’s a red and/or yellow flag for some people, but for me it’s more frustration as it’s cause it’s quite complicated....

Max 2 weeks and only a handful of times- when I had my children, and also if I wasn’t getting along with my partner. I’ve been with the same partner for 22 years so not a bad effort I think. I don’t think I could go longer than that to be honest

It wasn't something I was ashamed of then and I'm not now. It's how I survived a dire situation. Was going to continue into permanent celibacy. Didn't.

A few weeks. However, now that work is demanding most of my time, I sense that it will be longer between experiences,...... But Im thankful that I have had some great meets with sexy guys and can go without for a while. Best of luck to those who are having a long dry spell xx

After my daughter was born, I wasn't diagnosed with PND until she was 4 by then it was well and truly too late for her father and my relationship.

My longest was 7 years. Poor old Mr Winky, he copped a right flogging in that time - to the extent that a distinct bend had started to appear. True story.
I am currently running close to a year, but am soon to go on holidays where a certain dating app pays dividends rather promptly.

I love hearing this from couples. Sitcoms and films have made me associate marriage and long term relationships with an end of sex. Nice to be reminded thats bullshit. Like seeing your mates vasectomy limp cos his missus is sixk of it being her responsibility and you were imagining them to have an essentially celibate partnership.

Nearly nine years.
It's pretty rare I find myself in relationships - most of that time was by choice. I've never been the kind to go out and pick up women either, and never really had friends into the whole FWB thing, so it left me with fairly narrow options. Kinda one reason I'm here, it seems at least for the time being casual arrangements are my thing.
I don't know if I'd call it a source of *shame* per se. I probably used to be a bit insecure about it, but really someone who holds that against me isn't going to be a good match anyway, so eh.RHP User

... I notched up 9 years +. When I was 1-2 months short of hitting 10 years, I thought WTF, I'm going to break the spell and help myself to some hot cock. I landed myself an ex FWB who became an ex bf and his stature didn't indicate that he would be hiding a Captain Caveman's truncheon under his pants but oh my gosh... Glad to be deflowered again after almost 10 years by him!

When i was married, around 4 years in the end. Then separated and slowly started to get back into it.
Now I have a few lovers or FWB, but even then I get busy with kids/work, but aim to leave it no longer than 2 weeks.
More would be better. A few times a week would be great again.RHP User

I have been separated for around 2 years now, and prior to the separation we weren't intimate for about a year so probably 3 years all up now. Not that I'm counting... It's just life I guess, busy with work and trying to meet new people!

I'm in a bit of a dry spell at age 37.At age 20-22 I had 12 women (not bad for a fit body / average/good looking, shy guy?)Age 27-36 I had minimum of 90 women, total 100+ women.But lately, after discovering escorts I'm like why bother?.. why not just pay for it?These days so many women seem to be wanting sugar daddies and secretly trying to be part-time escorts, so I'm like why bother trying to get it for free? When I can just pay for it AND get with women out of my league.

OMG... I'm resurrecting my old thread because somewhere in here I mention maybe still being dry in 2024... here we are... august 2024 and I still haven't had so much as a kiss. So 12 years and looking like pushing that to 15 will be easy.
I'm an entirely different person than I was back in 2018 too. I've got a job, my own place, a car. I dress like a grown man instead of a 90s skater boy (I love my new black velvet smoking jacket). I don't have many friends left, everyone else having settled down and being busy with family and myself working awkward hours where catching up with those that are left is nigh on impossible.
Very interesting to look back and see how far I've come yet some things remain the same.
