Hi CheekyArses I don't really understand how life after death works but I believe there are things that cannot be explained. I have had several extraordinary spiritual experiences. One experience in particular when I was in my teens. A friend and I were walking to high school in the morning and we were confronted with and experience that was beyond anything we could explain. Even to this day it is very vivid for both of us and we just smile thinking about it. We both saw it and felt it physically touch us. We know others wouldn't understand so we don't talk about it openly. Since that day I have had several other unexplained happenings. (Happenings is a term I use for things I can feel, smell and sometimes see and touch - but cannot explain). No I don't do drugs....LOL It seems to be a trait for some of the women in my family. Even my eldest daughter, when she was very young, used to have "friends" that she would see and talk to. She says it still happens but only occasionally now she has reached adulthood. My mother had a near death experience when she almost died in a boating accident over 20 yrs ago. Since then she cannot sleep at night without the light on in her room as she says she sees so many spirits around her. Like some sort of channel had been opened. I'm not religious but I am a firm believer that there is a spiritual world that lives along side ours. How and why, I do not know! but I cannot ignore the things that have touched my life in that way. SFxx

Still, I had an experience when I was a teenager, where I as actually remembering something before it happened and was able to predict a man's movements. This certainly felt spiritual.

I would really like to believe in the magic of an afterlife, however it is something that I am unable to get my head around. I hope I am pleasantly suprised when my time comes but for now I think that a small part of us lives on through the legacy of our children and their lives, and so on through the eon's of time.S

What Joni Mitchell says in the lyrics of Woodstock. ''We are stardust ,billion year old carbon.'' Personally I think that we are re-cycled energy. Not reincarnation as we conventionally think of it but that we may be re-incarnated as many different beings. Bertolucci explored this as a theme in his film ''The Little Buddha''.The stream of conciousnes that we think of as us continuing in a way which is not us.

I'm just not sure exactly what. I've lived with a presence, so I've experienced a little life after death from the land of the living perspective. - Posted from rhpmobile

Mother Nature will take care of us when we kick the bucket..... We will only find out when we go to the great hunting grounds in the sky.....Then again Mother Nature just mite say we where all to much trouble and blow our sorry arse's out into space... GT

I've had a few experiences throughout my lifetime.. Personally' I never take them that serious , and l do believe some people experience more than others.. Kids having uncluttered minds are probally more susceptible to whats around them than us adults... Only a few months ago I had a unexplained happening at 4 .00 am in the morning.. Makes me wonder...

I believe deja vu is a signpost (Jensman kinda explained the theory briefly) that lets us know that regardless of where we are at the time we are where we are supposed to be according to the life that was mapped out for us prior to our next turn on the merry-go-round. I had a trauma some years ago, I haven't had deja vu since...:( it concerns me because it means I am so far from the path I should have been on and I am currently wandering the wilderness. I'm hoping the path will eventually find it's way to where I should be someday, even if it's not part of the original plan. This place is only temporal, a poofteenth of nothing. This place is not our "home" and someday we are all called back there. We are all homeward bound and I find that comforting.....now, go and have some fun and games; life is short.

And have seen thousands and thousands of deceased people- there is no exaggeration in that comment....and for many years (and every so often) I would look into the eyes of a deceased - especially the eyes of a deceased person whose death may have touched me personally on many levels - looking for SOMETHING - some explanation, some reason for their death - some promise of a future beyond ..........as I truly believe the eyes are the windows of the soul Nothing Ive spent endless days and nites alone with deceased people (due to my work) never once have I experienced a ghostly situation, apparition, visions, spiritual encounter...anything of the like Nothing When my husband was dying back in 2001 we used to joke around about him coming and leaving me some sort of sign, something to tell or indicate to me that there was this afterlife - I used to say to him that I (due to my work) I really deserved to know THE ANSWER (I know, how arrogant) and so we had a simple arranged idea that if he could, he would leave this simple sign for me. I looked for that sign for years (still do if truth be known) After he died.... Nothing Im Jewish and our belief is in reincarnation............hence why Jews are required to be buried - so the body is intact for the great reincarnation process So what do I believe ? I dont believe there is a afterlife despite my religious and cultural upbringing I think like Freya said, we are energy and carbon matter.....and somehow somewhere there is that conscious stream Yes Ive read many an account of those who have died and come back to life....and yes their stories are fascinating but my own belief that during the process of dying...that it is the " process of dying" , that you have wonderful dreams, encounter those who have gone before you, that there is this beautiful process however what I believe is what people are describing is acutally a mixture of the dying process and the drugs that are being administered to them to save them However - this I do know.... People have faith in a higher being - name your god..its irrelevant.. If people believe in an entity and it gives them comfort, strength and reason to keep on existing, stirving and more importantly this belief system gives them hope - then no-one has the rite to take that away from them. If you believe in a God (in some shape or form based on your religion or cultural belief) and that works for you - then so be it- I believe that you never take hope away from anyone ever..... Without hope - we are nothing For me its simple We are born, we live, we die and what truly matters is the life that we lead while we are here and that we live in and on in those that we leave behind - our legacy is thru our children, family and friends and the persons lives that we touched and perhaps made a difference to while we were here. mmm..what if Im wrong ?

We are born, we live, we dieSomewhere in that is a complicate yet beautiful simplicity, its not always fair or equal but they are not our rules to make.I think that if given an option to ask and be given an answer, I would rather know how and why we as humans were given this chance mmm..what if Im wrong ?

It is an age old question that stirs many a debate but with no real answer,i do believe there is a higher power & feel at times that it works in mysterious way's,i would like to think for the good most of it but as many have experienced some things happen that just can't be explained,i feel for you Shinasbabe27 as with anyone that has been through the trauma of losing a loved one,how it would be nice to know they are on the other side & are happy.I think the main point is that our lives do go on & it is a matter of not forgetting the memories we made but learning to make & enjoy the new one's along with family & friends & finding that happiness for ourselves to share life's up's & down's & always come out smiling for there are many others in the world that have nothing but still seem to have everything mmm make any sense ??.

Quoting 'jensman1903'Still, I had an experience when I was a teenager, where I as actually remembering something before it happened and was able to predict a man's movements. This certainly felt spiritual. of death and of life I have dreamt of my brothers birth in detail and frightened my parents out as it happened exactly as I told them it would. the events that surrounded that birth were unusual. I sometime wake up and say so and so died last night, freaks people out so I do not say much any more these days. There are some things that just do not have an explanation but that’s what makes it so interesting.

@CheekyArses Thank you for this thread....It would be very romantic for me to believe in the after life.... It's like someone gives us the gift of the second chance which would be awesome cause in this life i would try to make every possible mistake and in my other life try to pay back.... well nah it's too boring... Unfortunally for me all this things(after life, heaven etc) are invented from religions around the world to comfort and give hope to people...Spiritualism works the same way for me.... There was a calture that believed that life after death is simple nothing but living shadows in the emptiness... I kinda like this but again it's an other idea to explain the uncertain... I will agree with Freya13 in this one....we are a kind of energy form that goes around and around...like our universe.....So that's why I am a huge fun of One life to live it all to do it all and I am trying for this every moment......Having said all the above I have one report of my death from the Hunter Valey hospital when I was 40 days old and it was not a mistake...... How did I revive I have no idea.... And around 2003 until mid of 2004 i had several strange expiriences with (some called it like this) a demon and my life was on blade......Since then I believe that people have some visits from the world of spirits and I dont make fun of them...But I still dont believe in all this....go figure out :)

Because we have a DNA. we can trace back our line for thousands of years. right back to our first ancestors. This DNA is a direct link.. maybe there are some residual memories locked away in this DNA. That surface from time to time. In essence your ancesstors are immortal because parts of them live in you. In other words if you have a fear of the gilutine maybe your ancesstor loss their head in the french revolution. ok thats a bit radical cause no one likes looking at that thing. But you get the general idea. Turtles return to the same beach that they were hatched on some twenty years after leaving that same beach. Only the females ...He He the poor males just get tagged and released by the girls give us some sex and then go for a swim .....just kidding

If everything in life is cyclical Why then would you think that death is final? . . Personally I think that we are born in order to learn a lesson. Once that lesson is learnt then your number is up. We then evolve and come back to learn another lesson and so on. I do believe that we can have certain others follow us through our lives and that is why we have the experience of having met someone before. I do not however believe in The One, All Powerfu,l All Mighty God. I beleive in many Gods and Goddesses. . If this is all there is then what the bloody hell is the point? I want more...

Quoting 'Freya13' What Joni Mitchell says in the lyrics of Woodstock. ''We are stardust ,billion year old carbon.'' Surely you mean Crosy, Stills and Nash? (And Young?). Personally I think that we are re-cycled energy. Not reincarnation as we conventionally think of it but that we may be re-incarnated as many different beings. Bertolucci explored this as a theme in his film ''The Little Buddha''.The stream of conciousnes that we think of as us continuing in a way which is not us. I've seen to many things not to believe in "life" after death is some way. I tend to agree we go back to being energy before being reborn as someone or omething else. Though I was recently told by a fellow RHP member I was an Egyptian lady called Miriam in a previous life, as well as a famous French painter's muse. Who knows?

that I have ever heard regarding reincarnation was from an old Tibetan Lama.A student asked him how could she know who she had been in her past life,he smiled at her and said,''who are you in this life? Are you a happy person, are you an angry person ,because this is who you would have been in your past life.''

I recently saw the movie "Cloud Atlas".... The main concept is exactly this, lifes passing through the centuries for one purpose only. Fredom and love...Okey now I said two.. Must see this movie. The script unfolds amazingly with out you getting you bored... and once again Tom Hanks gives a good acting..... 9,5/10 because I haven 't see such a good movie(or spript) for years.....
