'Condom on a cane' was a sarcastic reference to some instances of woeful cane hygiene.For a recipient a cane is a very personal item, especially if it is made of a highly-absorbent material such as peeled rattan (rattan which has had the tough outer skin removed). Letting a cane lie on the floor, or using it serially on several bottoms, should rightly attract a lot of scorn.Modern synthetics (plastics) make cleaning much more effective by tolerating strong bleach solution but I still think it's good professionalism to practise monogamy - one cane to one bottom. Most recipients will be appreciative of such a relationship.Ewik

  G'day, Freya77 ;'Birkin' had me intrigued! Jane Birkin? Surely not; laying on her back she'd be much 'longer than 12 inches', and certainly not appreciative of being a receptacle for a cane.   As Paintme said preferences differ, my usual cane is 90cm, but a friend brings her own cane for play and it is short and has some impact...of course if the person likes what you use on them then it is the right length.B

  Hallo, Freya ;Fake or not, you at least get the utility of a handbag. Not so a caller (me) to a Perth radio station. I had to be content with the (in my opinion) fake excuse that they couldn't find the song 'Je Táime' (Jane Birkin, Serge Gainsbourg, circa 1970).They might have said the song was too suggestive for today's listeners. I'd have believed them.Eric

  Two were finally supplied, both 50 centimetre long.One was 10 millimetre diameter, made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE)The other was 12 millimetre diameter, made from Teflon (PTFE)I understand that both have been put to very good use, to the delight of both user and usee (to coin a word) :-)Eric - cane-maker to a nation.
