Precious, a lovely RHP guy and myself sat discussing an upcoming event. With coffee and wine. Nothing better than spending cold winter days with friends, coffee or a nice red wine. Winter to me means friends over, having a great night, rugging up and spending lots of time catching up.

Cooked everyone omelettes to order this morning....went to Eumundi Markets then to Hastings St, Noosa Heads to walk the beach and wander the shops. Came home played with the dog, made a cob loaf and now sitting in front of a fire about to go inside and watch a movie. All would be right with the world 😇 if I had 🍦 ice cream and 🍫 chocolate!! 💋😝 ~ Indy

Still, we went to the dog 🐶 beach 🌊 as normal. Got hammered by hail so continued to walk north with it on my back. When we got back to the coffee truck ☕️ we had a couple of cups and chat with our mates and their dogs. Next was a trip to Coles for the weeks shopping, Banjo the dog waiting on front driving seat💺 got out into the rain ☔️ that set in for all arvo. Home to make brekky for Mr 18 at 12.30 of bacon 🥓 and scrambled eggs 🍳 now wifey is out at her friends getting their coats ready for going skiing and I'm working on the dining room table and polishing marks out of a coffee table that got marked last night. Dog 🐶 and cat 🐱 sleeping and Mr 18 playing minecraft I'm chatting via text, and evening is drawing in as I sip cider and avoid the question "What are we having for tea?" M_D4 - Posted from rhpmobile

Is my time. Open fire, red wine(not seasonal) and a healthy respect for the ocean where it's a refreshing 13 degrees. So much warmer than the land. Time for solitude and thinking......

Wintertime here in CQ is beautiful. The temps are low 20s, the sky is an incredible blue, sometimes cloudy but rarely rainy.

I must admit living in Darwin is often a bit of a challenge, but one of the rewards of living here is never being cold again. Nights get down to 20 degrees, occasionally 15 (which we consider ''freezing''), days top out at about 30 to 32 degrees. I love talking to interstate (or as we refer to any other state here - ''down South'') family and friends, with them all rugged-up while I'm still strutting around in a pair of shorts, no shirt. The downside to having a few months of glorious weather every year, is the rest of the time it's either stinking hot and incredibly humid with no rain, or stinking hot and incredibly humid with lots of rain.

The days are glorious here though. Clear blue skies and lots of sun ☀️ I've (miss) spent the weekend getting the house in order. New office space all decked out, new sheets and Doona cover for my bedroom. Printing pics and updating and adding new frames around the house. It's all stuff I had been putting off doing. Start a new job Monday so a new attitude and a life in order is required. I think the Mr part is off surfing somewhere. 🏄

My winters usually run the full gamut, going from Sydney winter, to hot euro 35C summer days for weeks... then back to New Zealand freezing winters with snow in town, then back again to Sydney cold but warmer, then freezing NZ again. I overheat easily, so I'm happy with winter shenanigans - hot sweaty days where you're overheating and your balls are loose n swinging about saps any horniness.

Grow a beard. The beard suits me but i dont actually like it because its so damn itchy. I have no form of heating except clothing and blankets so the extra beard warmth has become essential. I just keep reminding myself how much more uncomfortable summer is without any form of cooling. SAD i assume is seasonal affectiveness disorder, or some such acronym. I've never been sure if it doesn't affect me at least to some minor degree. I find i eat more chocolate in winter, but other than that i dont have anything else that springs to mind that would indicate one way or the other. I love sunny winter days. Something about winter sun is more pure and satisfying.

I love winter up here, it's the only time of year that the humidity doesn't completely drain me. Lots of nice sunny days and cool nights, fantastic. This winter has been pretty crap though, lots of overcast and rainy weather which isn't helping my already low mood. Trying to get motivated but just feel like I'm in quicksand at the moment.

discovered 2 new places last saturday when it was horribly awful to be outside but in my wanderings with some friends we decided to go have dinner in bassendean at new burger place on old perth road called 8 Napkins, american inspired eats, the magic mushroom burger was delish. then we went up the street a bit to cork & bottle, i had known of its physical location but never been in and only passed by during the day before when it was closed, went in and sat down for a coffee, discovered they have our favorite local apple cider from the perth hills, aptly named naked apple, and they also have a decent offering of gin and special mulled wine for winter. so will definitely be going back there soon to warm up on their couches.

I love a sunny winter's day. I don't mind the cold specially if I have someone to keep warm with. My fave blues n jazz place has the best mulled wine in winter which is great to sip while listening to the band stir the place crazy. Team that with a shared plate of tapas and fun convo with the locals and some dancing in their intimate cramped dance floor that is shared with the band, great way to pass a winter's day after a walk along the nearby beach. For now, I'm enjoying the warmth 3Rd week in a row. balmy evenings calls for GnT on the patio and an evening swim at the pool. I don't get to do this often in winter so taking advantage of this blessings. But the mosquitoes!!! 😥😠

Reading the posts here makes me miss winter. I know, weird huh. I associate winter with lots if fun stuff like -Skiing at Falls Creek or Mt Buller -Drinking spicy warm mulled wine while listening to blues and jazz music - On way home from work, the Belgian waffles and hot chocolate stand in the city hits the spot. I skip the Belgian Waffles but they sure smell great. The thick hot chocolate drink is great to have in the train though. Had struck up many nice convo with people because of this. I sometimes carry a spare paper cup (a mom thing) and share my drink with nice people. chatting woth strangers in the train 🚂 pcan be fun. - Ice skating with my boys (actually more like slowly drifting to the side before falling on my arse) at southbank - Footy season (go ****!) and BBQs - packing the kids and.a yummy antipasto picnic basket into the car and driving to places like Mt. Dandenong for the greenery, hot chocolate drinks, hiking and then buying bags of chestnuts sold by the road by the locals. Great to have roasted chestnuts at home while watching a movie. - Home, open fireplace, slow cooked lamb shanks, chorizo and vegies in red wine sitting in front of the fireplace. My youngest would usually cuddle up to me as he is alwc ays mesmerised by the dancing light fr the fireplace and sweet smell of burning wood. My eldest always throws in a few gum leaves onto the fire. It gives off a soothing smell of eucalyptus and fills the house. I always have a bag of marshmallows stashed for these occasions. And we always burnt them because we can haha. - Etc I'm missing Melbourne now. 😞 but thanks for reminding me what I'm missing. 😜

Reading all the comments think I'm grateful that after holidays in Maldives and now in Malaysia I should be counting my blessings not being in Perth atm but somehow kinda missing the slow chilled lifestyle of Perth ( crazy but so true) as my liver needs a break from my mates here 😣😣 Weather in Kuala Lumpur is a nice sunny 31 degrees 😊😊 - Posted from rhpmobile

To a m&g party at a local club. The thought of not being able to wear my usual layers to keep warm is really doing my head in. Yes the club has heating, but my mind refuses to accept that it will be warm. What an earth do I wear??!

And what a difference of 10 degrees makes to the mind and body ... loving Queensland weather and can't wait to move up here :) I hate winter in Melbourne, it's physically and mentally debilitating. To keep occupied I do a fair bit of cooking ... it reduces stress and helps me feel like I'm nurturing my little family, and then some (lol) We have two wood heaters but I'm currently menopausal ... my body can have 4 seasons in just 5 minutes, keeping cool (literally and metaphorically) is my biggest challenge :( I love entertaining and people and special dinners helps me get through the winter ... add many bottles of won't too :) Mary xx

For us, we love heading out 4x4ing into the National Parks, everything is so green, the creeks are flowing especially just after it has rained and the sun comes out to play. On a nice day in winter you are less likely to have as many people venturing into the wilderness. We love getting off the beaten tracks, exploring, trying to find our own isolated place!! And yes, more than not this leads to a little hanky panky!! haha. A little secret??? We have one spot we found up the top of a steep climb, Fab views over a valley, we can't help ourselves, glass of wine, even took a blanket and small mattress with us!! hehe. Oh, hubby even tied me up? Fantasy overload!! The ultimate for us would be finding a lady with a desire to share in our experience?? 👀

My bf and I got cute soft onesies and for the first time cuddled and spooned last night in them while watching Stan... his big muscly arms around me was the best feeling and just made us feel like teenagers again with no pressure to do anything and just be in each other's company and forget about the harsh outside world :D Love Aussie winter! Have lived in harsh ice-cold winters (suffered Vit D deficiency) and/or rainy/snowy everyday. We really don't have anything to complain about. If you need sun, remember how lucky we are! Go out at lunchtime! The world can wait for 5-10min. Work/life balance is a thing. Without your health, you have nothing.

London: With daylight savings you don't see daylight, weekends are rainy/overcast. Toronto: looks sunny, put on your thick winter duckdown windbreaker coat, cannot feel sun... but the wind scratches your face like shards of glass. Thankfully, I didn't have to shovel snow. When cars have seat warmers that's when you know it's freezing af. Aussie Winter? Heaven. But appreciation for the simpler things is tough in the rat race.

*with daylight savings* lol got nothing to do with it... I forget because QLD hasn't had it for 30yrs - my bad. Daylight in London winter is only about 8 hours in winter and even less in Scandinavia I support anything that makes you feel good :)

has comparatively mild winters, even so, the greyness of the last week is doing my head in, I can feel my mood falling by the day, you know those afternoons when it feels like 5.30 but its just gone 2 ?I'm over it, need some sun, don't mind if it's cool I just need some sun. And my kids back. As my kids are now both in High school they have asked to change the roster to 2 weeks on 2 off, less disruptive for them, more depressing for me.Sorry.

I get what you're saying.... I just spent nearly 2 weeks out East for as change of pace....enjoyed the roadtrips there and back......even though it was down to 2 's overnight most nites, the days were sunny enough to spend time outside (out of the wind) but by 4pm time to move indoors, close up the house and light the wood fire......and of course then its wine time!!! Late nights, late mornings.......spending quality time with my bestie and her family, especially the grandies was priceless! Best winter therapy ever......ceartainly did help to get rid of the winter blues.......for now
