It's not easy being green

June 21 2014

Why is it that the grass always appears greener............ I know it's such a cliche, but you search for what you want (or think you want),you get it, it seems perfect and then, bugger me, you look up and there's that huge greener than green patch of turf just out of reach! Now you know if you stretch/try hard enough that you can just touch it, but does that mean you should???? Is that what we're all doing?? - Posted from rhpmobile

believe you me! Sometimes looking over the fence it looks green, but reality is, it's fertilized with bullshit.... Sometimes it's not, but that's very rare. We can't always get want we want and those who want us, we don't want and those we want we can't have. My latest theory...... No use holding on to something that we can't have - it will drive ya MENTAL and bring out the worst demons. So get yourself a pretty little box, tie a pretty ribbon around it and put it in a safe place. Foxy

You always want what you can't have. But when you have it, you don't know what you had till it's gone. - Posted from rhpmobile

that if I kept looking over the fence, my side of the fence will get neglected. She said I must water it, pull the weeds out and nurture it first with love and kindness, before anything else. Foxy

Two thumbs up there miss.... Sometimes the grass appears to be greener on the other side of the fence because we're too blind to see our own paddock as perfectly imperfect. It's all about perspective. - Posted from rhpmobile

That's why sometimes Mrs Luvsilver and myself sometimes climb the fence. We go and have a look, a touch and a feel of the other side together. It is usually a little bit different to our normal side but still a very nice place to explore for a few hours and always a lot of fun. After we have done that we then go back to our green side of the fence that we know and love so much (weeds and all). Everyone that has replied to this post, is probably right in their own way......At the end of the day, most people want better than what they already have , and that is Human nature !But as we get older, we probably work out that something that is achievable , and comfortable, is a much better option ! Well that is if common sense takes over ? Love and peace Tam

is never and has never been perfect, I like it that way....oh yes i look at the green perfect lawns around my area....and then I think.....no way do i want this perfect lawn.....when I look closer....its really boring....no weeds.....no brown patches just evenly green.....nooo....thats just not me......I couldnt live with such perfectness....it doesnt make my eyes laugh.....and I want to smile when I look at my grass and say......wow.....you attract more bees and bugs as the perfect green.....you know I really love you.

It could very well appear greener, but chances are it's just a different shade of green. Truth is very rarely is the grass ever greener on the other side, but it's usually to late once you've made the decision to jumped the fence to find out......💋 And the problem with common sense, is it's not very common at all........😜

I hate grass....I have made it my mission to let the dandelions and other so called weeds flower....so much more beautiful....betterer than grass....more environmentally friendly unless it's a camomile lawn .. If I was a character in a Nancy Mitford novel I would be the Bolter :-) xAuntie

Seriously, I rarely really envy others. That said, I'm far from being happy with how things are for me, I just don't look to others to provide inspiration.

thought the grass was greener with a 22yo. He moved away with her, ended up with Ross River Fever, they had a premature baby then she had a stroke and he has to care for her, sounds pretty green to me and she isn't even 30 yet. Wonder if he will find a new paddock again?

For all the well thought out considered replies, it just shows how we all view the one statement from such diverse angles! I certainly don't envy others! I am thankful for my life (even though it's not always the easiest) I'm always happy for others good fortunes, wether earned or not. I'm referring more to the fact we (I) meet a good man, kind considerate, not a lot of baggage, so ticks all the boxes......but......I still want the bad boy, the one who makes my toes curl just at the thought of a night together, and the one who's also emotionally and every other way unavailable. - Posted from rhpmobile
