Ipads and webcam chat

July 28 2011

Hi all, I have recently purchased an Ipad2 and found that I am unable to access RHP chat because it uses Macromedia Flash Player that is not compatable with Mac. The RHP help suggests a solution for Mac (firefox) but not for Ipad. Does anyone have an Ipad and managed to rectify this problem? Is there an App available? Mrs 2young

Flash is dead on all Mobile devices.... Steve jobs was always a leader :) and the iDevices lead the way of not offering flash. Now Adobe has anounced that windows and android development and support has stop as well and it will not be long before flash is no longer used on the web even for Macs and PC's. There are ways to do it with apps and jail-breaking but all will bring more problems then they are worth. You still bought the best Pad device on the market apart from the iPad 3 :) If you find someone get their msn or skype as you can video chat with those.Cloud browse or any other app will NOT work for the chat may work on some video based flash sites but you will pay for rubbish. The only apps that will work are like remote desktop apps so you are actually using the browser of your pc or mac. The RHP chat rooms are great fun but based on an prehistoric flash script that has been lagging and stuffing up heaps there are better solutions that would work on the iDevices.http://www.zdnet.com/blog/perlow/exclusive-adobe-ceases-development-on-mobile-browser-flash-refocuses-efforts-on-html5-updated/19226Hope that helps you.Cheers

It's very frustrating not having flash on the iPhone/iPad not sure why they don't include it even if they think it wot be around for long people are still using it now.

It cost money to develop software that is on its way out don't get me wrong I'd love to see it on my iPad or iPhone but it's not going to happen as there are better alternatives. 123flash chat works on idevices not sure on the script use to program it even tho it is called 123flash. But as said its not just apple mobile products android and windows got the boot too
