Inconsequential

March 12 2011

I know I should probably find some sort of philosophical forum, but they don't have titty pictures, so here I am. . I'm a believer in the circle of influence, you should only really worry about the things that you can influence. Everything else is wasted energy. And while I will admit I might have been the first to make a 'too early' joke about the Japanese earthquake I am coming around with a serious side. . I'm just watching the footage of waves of water metres high (no not rhp measurements.. they really are!), the waters ability to throw massive ships around like toys, the massive fires at oil refineries, and the way the earth opens up, fractures and relocates itself and feel a little inconsequential. You're just a tiny little dot on this Earth, and no matter how important you think you are or the things you have done are... if she wants to - she can crush it all like a paper cup.. . Bring on 2012 - yikes....!

I know how sensitive you get when attention is paid to Uranus but I stumbled upon this site this morning and thought it very interesting indeed, regardless of your level of planetary and/or astrological skepticism: . http://www.keen.com/CommunityServer/UserBlogPosts/Leslie_Hale/Uranus---Last-dance-in-Pisces-The-Planet-of-Revolution-and-Change-Enters-the-Sign-of-the-Individual-Ego/558305.aspx?Ajax_CallBack=true . Well worth a browse, especially from the point of view of both Natural and Man Made Catastrophes...

and then of course 2012 is meant to be the end of it all on the Mayan calendar ........and the year of the Rabbit is meant to bring all manner of natural disasters from the east....and Feng shui says we shouldnt face east during this year, so turn your desks around people........We have always been inconsequential in this universe GJ......but for a moment in time we may just have the chance to be someones world......aaaahhhThe force of mother nature is indeed awesome.

But Mother Nature is indeed a powerful force to be reconed with. Every now and then she sweeps in and reminds us all of just how insignificant we are. Earthquakes I understand (growing up in the Shaky Isles...... aka NZ ) and have actually been in and earthquake of 7.6 on the Richter scale. It is very frightening when the walls of the house start swaying and you wonder if you should take shelter under the kitchen table or go down to the other end of the house to be with your two sleeping babies. The major concern is the nuclear power plants. As for only worrying about the things that you can influence...isnt there something about the beating of a butterfly wings eventually creating disaster? Everthing we do is like ripples in the pond.........having far reaching consequences.

And you wonder why I'm content to answer all the "who gives better oral" style questions? I feel so helpless watching those catastrophic events that I just can't stand to watch the news anymore.I really don't appreciate why "we" attempt to build permanent structures on the edges of a winding river... for instance.... I mean to say... didn't any town planners ever go to boy scouts camp?HugsS

Quoting 'missbowpeek'and then of course 2012 is meant to be the end of it all on the Mayan calendar ........and the year of the Rabbit is meant to bring all manner of natural disasters from the east....and Feng shui says we shouldnt face east during this year, so turn your desks around people........ We have always been inconsequential in this universe GJ......but for a moment in time we may just have the chance to be someones world......aaaahhh The force of mother nature is indeed awesome. When I was a wee little nipper, I though what is wrong with people who 'choose' to live in countries/cities that are the highest rated in terms of natural disasters such as being on fault lines, or near a volcanos, high cyclone/hurricane areas etc I think young children can really have clear logical thought at times... But as an adult I have come to realise that life isn’t quite that simple and straight forward. It is just heart breaking to see what has happened to too many people this year and it is only March L I am with Stalky, I might put up my second forum topic and make it about some sexual pleasure or something super light, we need to enjoy every day while we can?! News/over exposure to media is becoming actually bad for our health, it is sensationalised fear mongering viewing to hit the ratings... Instead of it being all doom and gloom, it should be presented in such a way to inform us on how we can support or see how people are supporting people in crisis... But that unfortunately isn’t as exciting viewing and doesn’t get the ratings/cash... we humans are so complicated sometimes

Think I'll give Uranus a miss, heard there's a black hole lurking aound there. . I believe influence is not always directly recognisable, the result of influence can have effect in intangible ways too. So the " circle of influence" you so believe in is not so definable by it's circumference of effect. I therefore disagree about wasting energy as this sounds sophistical or inconclusive. . As for japan and sensational death tolls needing constant updating to arouse our interest, now there's a waste of energy. I don't need body counts to feel pity for the 'Men behind the Sun'. They've done some despicable things the japs and maybe this is mother nature saying fuck you and your whale culling. And father time wishes he had some influence but aint in the circle...... this time.

Sunday, I suppose, is one of those lazy days where you can really just slow down and post in a few less concupiscent thoughts...afterall, we do know that one day the sun will burn out and by then we can only guess as to our status as inhabitants of this earth. | Apart from the demonstations that nature puts on now and then that are indeed dramatic tragedies in the lives of those they effect...how often do we really consider our ride in space on this amazing planet? | The bottlenose dolphin...fully equipped with onboard sonar and a well developed language of it's own. Somehow, they even manage to find us entertaining when we enter their native habitat...perhaps it is us that are jumping through hoops to entertain them? | The blue whale...a creature with no known predators above it save for man that can naviagate each year from the icey depths of the nothern cap to it's breeding grounds in the baja and all the while communicate for miles with others in the group. | And nature...who is spite of all the protests from those that are as green as Kermit to "save the ancient forests" are the last to volunteer when nature decides that it is time to clean out the old and refresh with the new. | Nature heals itself in ways we barely notice...I used to fly out of an old military airstrip along the coast that is now a very lush and fertile field. Perhaps we choose not to see them and humble ourselves to the knowledge that we may not be the greatest amongst all things on this planet. | Enjoy your day.

that mother nature can be a bitch at times. It doesnt matter who you are, where you are, what you do etc when all natural forces are in full swing, yes , we are totally inconsequential.

I really want to know what the too-soon joke was, cos this one made me smile a little. Japan quake so powerful it shifted the earth off its axis by 4 inches, sped up the earth's rotation by 1.6 microseconds, and shifted Japan's coastline by 8 feet. So - 4 inches CAN make the earth move and time stand still Yes, I know I'm probably going to hell, but I didn't laugh til just now, so JG's going first. But in the event you really do Sarah, and in the event that JG tells all, I think we're gonna need more than popcorn and refreshments for this one! *cringe* Think Taby, multiply by 100 and then make fair and generous allowances for the absence of breasts, beauty and age

But when I refer to the circle of influence, I mean people who have nervous breakdowns over things like the earthquake in Japan. Growing ulcers in your stomach isn't going to help the Japs right now. Nor prevent aftershocks.

OK.. I'm already going to hell. This was a bit of a visual joke as the TV was involved, but I'll try: *queue pictures of tsunami and cars floating in water* "I wonder whether there is going to be an influx of cheap Jap import cars as a result of the earthquake and tsunami." And then summised some might be on their way already! "Hey Ito, when do you think my Evo VI is going to arrive" "Ahhh hherro Tom san, it is already on it's way. It is coming in on the third wave. Should be there in eight hours"
