Had an early one last weekend to accommodate friends who work away. Having the main one on the right date so all the trialled costumes should be perfected by then. I think the best costume last week was an evil monopoly guy!

We don't get it either... Halloween is just another marketing excercise. We lock our doors and turn off the lights!!!Let America keep their traditions AND their violence and crime... I thought we were trying to teach kids in Aussie NOT to take lollies from strangers and cut down on obesity!!! It's only been a decade or so since Halloween arrived on Aussie shores and now we're encouraging more and more of our kids to go out knocking on stranger's doors to demand lollies... or else! Can't see any good coming out of this... Mrs P PS: On a more positive note, we hear there are forum nuptials in the offing with the ceremony planned for Halloween!!!

as a kid on the RAAF base Halloween was awesome - all the kids in costumes, and people doing halloween left the front lights on so you didn't embarass anyone not doing it, we had a blast - wandering house to house till you got home and collapsed exhausted next to your big bag of lollies. (this was probably '83-85)Out in the 'real world' of suburbia it doesn't really work, it isn't part of our culture so not enough people do it to make it worthwhile (the trick or treating)As an adult, can't wait - the costume I wanted was sold out (mad hatter with some big platform shoes with fish in the soles), and my pirate king costumes already been seen so I'm split between a gunslinger which I reckon will look pretty slick, and a Spartan warrior outfit - n what to wear under the toga ;-)

Not too bothered about Halloween.  Coming from the UK it was a pretty big deal and regularly celebrated holiday, but after I turned 14 I got pretty bored of it fast.
