How was 'your type' formed?

February 13 2011

Let's pretend for a moment that we're all grownups and we can accept that people like what they like, even if it doesn't look like us or what we like, because I want to know when and how you came to realise that you like 'that'. . I've often said that I don't have just one type and looking back at all my playmates or ex-boyfriends, no two look alike - probably because I've always been one of those suckers who gets the pants 'charmed' off her - but I still look at pics of celebs or sports people, etc that my friends are drooling over and I can still say 'not my type' to some of them. . So anyway, stay with me here while we meander along to an eventual point.... ages ago some friends and I were objectifying the hell out of some pictures of men on the internet and we came to a particular actor, both my friends were all, "oooh... he's so hot" and I just wasn't seeing it. No way. just Not My Type. Fast forward to a couple of months ago and i met a very very charming individual who pushed all the right buttons for me and just happens to bear a very slight resemblance to said actor, and now I'm googling shirtless pics of the actor for cheap thrills. That look has become yet another in the long list of my 'types' so it got me thinking about how i came to like a few other types. . First and foremost, the Tall Dark and Charming. I was 7, he was 25 and 6'3" with the blackest black hair and piercing blue eyes and later ended up stealing my sister's boyfriend. But when we first met he bowed, kissed the back my hand, smiled into my eyes and said, 'Enchante Mademoiselle' ... and a sucker was born. . The Petite Girl. I was a giant compared to my group of girly-girl friends in high school, they always seemed to be the epitome of femininity to me. I never so much as imagined getting any of them naked at any point, they were all just my friends, but now and then I see a beautiful little handful of breast before my eyes and it for a second reminds me fondly of the many times they were undressed before me as they all shared each others' tiny clothes. . The Blondes. Never appealed to me, probably due to the aforementioned charmer, but Daniel Craig as the bad-assed Bond really worked for me. . those are just a few but I'd love to hear yours.

my men have all been different in so many ways...all three of my exes you wouldnt put together with the one girl they are so unalike.... but if i had to choice one "type" that makes me go weak at the knee's...it all comes down to one boy when i was 16 i liked the boys when i was a teen (nice way of saying i was a slut) and then one day i got in the car with two boys, one i knew one i didnt, they took me to a car park and the one i knew wanted sex, i didnt, so i climbed over the bloke i didnt know and walked off...the bloke sped off and showered me with dirt and gravel...about 10 mins later a car pulled up (an old holden EH) and the bloke i didnt know from the first car was in there, he offered me a lift and being so far away from home i accepted...he was tall with dark wavey hair, dark brown eyes and the nicest face id ever seen we sat just up from my house and talked for hours i came across him years later after me and the father of my eldest kids broke up and i went and picked him up for a chat (in my new holden EH) and opened the door, he still had the same gorgeous eyes, the same black wavey hair and the same beautiful face, but he had grown a goatee...i had to pick my tongue up off the floor lol so thanks to him...im a sucker for dark hair, dark eyes and a goatee...hubba hubba....ohhh and a nice old holden EH haha shit id love to find that man again...so if anyone knows where he is...let me know lol roxxy

I guess we come by "the type' by process of elimination over the years. Some that we have been involved with and has managed to push all the right buttons.....this person has made us feel sexy, loved, wanted etc and if someone else comes along with the same smile, same gait in thier walk, same way of tilting thier head etc, this can evoke those past feel good memories and they become our "type" I really like big, solid men...big chests, big arms, deep gravely voices. The love of my life was like that and since then, all my permanent relationships have been the total opposite.

Yeah man we share the same type, LOVE the redheads, specially the pale ones. This also goes for raven hair. Probably why I have a thing for goths and punk chicks. Bring that shit on.

Physical preference is for sexy voice, strong arms and a cute butt. Other than that I like touchy-feely sensual guys that know how to treat a lady.

i know many women hate beards lol but combine them with a shaved head and mmmm.... i love running my hand over a shaved skull gets me going everytime! my friends and i have completly different tastes...what i class as 'hot' they normally say is 'not' and vice versa! still at least it means we're never fighting over who gets first dibs on a guy : p

Quoting 'curiousnewgirl78' Let's pretend for a moment that we're all grownups ... | Great. If I have to play by those rules I am screwed from the start...but will give it a try anyway. If I start acting childish just shove something in my mouth and send me to your bedroom.| I think when I was younger...I may have had "a type" or at least I thought I did, and while I cheerfully admit to being a testosterone oozing juvenile deliquent, I probably missed out on a lot. In the distant past, I spent quite a few years with someone that was "exactly my type" but the trouble was, we both started growing up and found out we were very different people. Oh well...monster sex with a statuesque killer blonde model type with a Barbie complex had me about as blind as a Ken doll...but glad we were both anatomically correct. And you learn...I was able to put "Barbies" on the "not my type list" although have left the rest on as "possibles".| I guess that then is what has become "my type" is more of adventure and keeping my mind open to new ideas and new people. It's a lot easier for me to say "that's not my type" than what is my type. I would not want to miss someone or something along the way that I may have found completely delightful if I just had one type of anything. Hell, I still even like a few qualities that Barbie has...just not all rolled up into one package. | It does make me laugh a bit at times looking at all the barriers and self limiting clauses in some of the profiles...and certainly everyone is entitled to their own choices. If you look at some of these lists though...it would be easier to get a job working for the CIA in covert ops than to clear the hurdle to the first drink or cup of coffee. Oh well...one or both could be missing someone or something really special, and it does not always have to be sex. That helps (qutie a lot, actually)...but I have not written that as a prerequisite in my profile. | Anyway...you rambled, so I did too. Life is too short to take seriously and nobody gets out alive anyway. Along the way I plan on enjoying every minute of that I can and will never say never unless less I have tried something twice....okay, maybe three times, but then if I still don't like it you might not be my type.

Hmmm I think maybe mine has more to do with the way he looks at me, Once I have all the other boxes checked, as in features,height,colouring......if he 'looks' at me like he's going to absolutely gobble me up you know the one? its only meant for you, and by god it's HOT!!!! and yeah it was from a past boyfriend/lover, man the way he would look at me from across the room at a party mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I agree with Midnight, when younger I had a type, mainly linked to my first love and since she was the statuesque model type I had to settle for those haha. Then I met my Pup, she was soooooo not my type but, well, she sure is now! Actually caring so deeply for such different types (in looks and personality) I think has opened my eyes to much of the beauty out there and I truly cannot say I have a type anymore. I actually enjoy "out of type". Mrs Pup is so perfect for me and if I could clone her and have a 3some i think i'd be in heaven but really I get attracted to the differences in people. I find it really hard to understand some people that will never explore outside of a strict typecast.

Quoting 'puppy' ...she was soooooo not my type but, well, she sure is now! | Too funny...and I just had a look at your profile (again) and have to agree with you about Ms Pup. | She is sooooo not my type either...you poor bugger, my heart goes out to you for putting up with her. Now about this cloning thing? If it works, can I get one? Better still... | ...does she have a twin?

Yes Midnight she has a twin but I dare not release her from her fluffy handcuffs.... well I can dream can't I? Ha I did sound flippant back there didn't I. What I mean is she was completely different in personality (better) and looks (just as hot but very different). I mean I had to go from the statuesque model to the buxom page 3 girl. It was hard work going from being a leg man to a breast man so thankyou for your condolences. Oh yes and a good wiff can send me over the edge too Stalky!

Okay...so send me a lock of hair and I will try this cloning stuff myself. I have always been a breast man and the legs were just bit on the side to fill up the box next to the dessert. I am glad to hear you are happy and if you can't send the lock of hair... | ...just shoot me.
