I also use the road, swim in the ocean. There is risks in life. I calculate the risk, and go a safeish option. Risk management we call it in industry. Using condoms for oral and penetrative sex can make it safer, but not safe. There will always be a risk to some degree. You can reduce the risk of catching an STI or passing one on, by using a dental dam. I've never used one though, and haven't seen them in pharmacies. I happen to own a dental dam. I bought it when a sex life finally became a possibility and I wasn't sure what products I would need or not need. But as with the above posts, I haven't used it, nor seen another used. Gonorrhea, chlamydia and HIV are not commonly passed when giving oral sex to a woman even if you happen to have a small cut on/in your mouth or tongue. However open areas can increase the risk of HIV. Herpes and HPV are easily passed when giving or receiving oral sex because they are passed by skin to skin contact. There are always risks, and while we are believers in condoms the obvious truth is that once you have hands and mouths moving around as part of the love then the condom is only dealing with one of the many ways you will be exposed. The thing with getting tested or asking them to do it, how do you know who they've been with in the period of time it takes to get results back? It only takes one exposure/contraction without your knowledge, to then expose you. It's important to be regularly tested, but not a complete safety net 😃 most important is for anyone who does contract something, for them to tell past, present, future partners, to stop it in it's tracks.
