I gym 5 days a week..... mainly just to balance out my LOVE of beautiful wines and Gin 🤭🤭.... BUUUTTT if i didnt go to the gym, I'd never catch up on Netflix episodes so there's motivation in itself. I get mani/pedi's every fortnight and have done so since I was in Uni many moons ago. I get a massage fortnightly. Ive been bleaching or dying my hair since I was 15, like to have fun with that. I have a few tattoos, which I love, and get alot of joy from them. I don't like shopping. I prefer online shopping but dont find it terribly rewarding. Never really thought of those activities as "for myself avtivities". Moreso, ADLs (activites of daily living)🤣 Something I really love doing for myself is taking a book down to the beach or esplanade/pier...... have a couple of glasses of wine, read my book, people watch, chill out.

I dont like salons and find them very expensive so I cut and colour my hair myself nowadays and do my own nails if Im going out. I dont exercise regularly but my work keeps me active, Im walking around all day lifting and carrying things. I love walking. There are some lovely parks and riverside pathways for walking in Perth. My diet is plant based, but I love socialising with other Perth people from the site and we have long champagne lunches and dinners now and again. Sex is a good workout Since I joined RHP I have definitely made an effort to look sexier. I love dressing nicely to meet guys and like wearing lingerie in the bedroom. I do need to lose a bit of weight so I am going to take that in hand, I am not the slim thing I was when I joined. The October Meet and Greet is on the horizon so Id like to drop a dress size. If I had time Id love to do dance classes ...........

A bit of gym, a bit of swimming but I don't get obsessed with fitness/looking perfect. I am also doing 5/2 Diet and it's helped me lose 3 kilos in the last couple of months and also - if I have a break from exercise - I can stay within my weight with this eating plan. Swimming season has started so I'll be back swimming at rock pools/inner harbour beaches, that's my fave activity. I also minimise booze, try to eat healthy etc. I do DIY Face-peels and masks which help my skin. I am to submerge more in Floatation Tanks more as well.

I really dont give two hoots what others think (in this lifestyle or anywhere) about my appearance, my body, what I eat or me for that matter. My main focus and priority each day is keeping mentally healthy, the rest just flows. I believe every single person has ups and downs, times when we feel great and times when we feel we are struggling about our bodies and image. To me this is normal and it is OK. We shouldnt have to impress others or feel pressured in this "lifestyle". OK I must admit, I am a bit of a sweet tooth and just love ice cream. However I do buy lots of grocery items that are sugar free and low in carbs. I stopped eating potatoes and vegies that grow below ground and focus on those above. Drink lite milk and Almond Milk in my ceral. Ms Foxy

Being gender fluid, there are many facets to my regime. I need balance in my mental health. I need to service both male and female needs and it is a time consuming thing. From getting my nails done every few weeks, brows done to balancing that working on construction sites. Oh lord....the dirt and grime means decontamination every afternoon. Physically, gym once a week, power walking twice a week on top of 10,000 steps at work every day, surfing as often as possible. Exercise is a must. A perforated disk in my spine from work/surfing means if l don't use, l lose it. So l need a good balanced diet to maintain ideal weight and fuel the manual activities of work and sport. My life depends on top physical condition as part of my mental health is solitude. My type of solitude is surfing often by myself. I need to be able to handle testing conditions with no one around. For instance l can hike for an hour through untracked coastal scrub, surf for 2 to 3 hrs and hike back to my 4wd to get back to civilisation, knowing that nearest help is several Klm's away. That gives me mental piece. Just myself and nature. Part of that is going away for several days alone. Magic. It's taken a lifetime to work out I need solitude time. But it is balance. I can work a crowded room and love it but truly comfortable with just me. I dont need and now avoid traditional relationships. So for me, it's mostly balance but tending toward a selfish looking after of my non binary range of desires and needs. I think l would be perfect for a solo mission to Mars......

Now I’m getting older It’s pretty essential I look after myself well. I want to live a good quality life for as long as possible. Physically I run around 4 times a week and go to the gym at least twice to do weights. I also ride my bike a couple of times a week. My job is mentally demanding and I need to exercise to keep on top of stress. I eat well and drink the green juice etc etc etc I just did a three week cleanse thing to try to lift my energy a bit and just because I’ve never done one before. This involved dropping my coffee to one a day. Jesus the withdrawals were horrific I felt like shit for a week. Hated it. But I’ll try to keep my consumption lower as I do feel better for it, less wired. Mentally my brain is busy. It’s hard for me to shut it off so I need to look after this part as well . I meditate every day and try to fit some yoga in where I can. Does this make me zen? Fuck no. Its frustrating as fuck. It’s a constant challenge for me to be mindful.I feel like the more I know the less I know, if that makes sense. I’m now trying group meditations and sound meditation to try to develop it a bit more. Im also into Wim Hoff and learning about his breathing techniques and cold therapy but I have trouble with commitment . I’ll start that soon. Also like Annie I need solitude and preferably in nature. I always wished I learnt to surf because the ocean and beach always makes me feel peaceful. . This needs to be balanced with being around people who make me happy.

As an introvert I agree with Annie. I need that time alone to recharge ti gather my internal thoughts, then I'm good to go. I believe its great for healthy mental well-being. Ms Foxy

I don’t gym...gym and I are no longer friends...he’s never told me his last name and I just don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.... I do like to get out though and just go donroad trips...time permitting. But that hasn’t been very regular of late...so I’ve just gone back to my old school rule...if it’s not my circus, then they definitely ain’t my monkeys, then I crack a can of mercury hard cider, give cheers to my gorgeous partner and chill the fuck out....

But wait... (tongue firmly in cheek)… this is the forums, and physical size/shape means nothing to anybody on here. Smart arsiness aside.... I have been a regular gym-goer for a couple of decades now, had quite the trim and athletic physique. Love/marriage saw me put on a bit of a paunch which I have mostly been able to eliminate but still have this annoying bicycle tyre of fat around my waist. I eat well, love my fruit and veg, have honed my intake over the past few years to a nice balance. Like FFF though, I love my wine and gin of an evening. My little bicycle tyre is probably a little pouch of Gordons and 19 Crimes. It's not enough of a rim of fat to be gross, and I am still complimented on my physique by others, but I don't like it nonetheless. Unfortunately taking the steps I need to in order to lose it is proving hard. It's not my diet, it's the grog. I look at people who only have a couple of beers of a night - or no alcohol at all - and I don't know how they do it. I know that this is alcohol dependence, and I've been told so by doctors, but cracking the habit of having a few of an evening is hard. I remember an article in a magazine a few years ago, written by an ex-athlete who had let himself go over the years of raising a family - the usual stuff. He had a health scare and decided it was time to clean himself up and get healthy again. I always remember what he said, and I'm paraphrasing, ''When you're in your 40s you need to accept that you no longer have the body of a 20 year old, you just have to try your best'', which is good advice. Be realistic about the effect that aging has on your body - harder to build and maintain muscle, easier to gain weight than to lose it, but don't stop trying. I'm fast approaching that magic 50, when if stuff is going to go wrong with your body it pretty much picks that time to start doing it, which is a bit of a worry. It's up to me though to eliminate or minimize the things that are bad for me, do the opposite with those good things. If anybody so much as comes near me with a kale juice or some crazy hippy rubbish like that though, I shall flee from thee.

I work physically so that helps, Low carb diet, I'm not a vegan but I love vegan food, the creativity is awesome, I like my hipster beer so price keeps that under control.I like to bike ride but it got stolen though I still have a stationary which gets used maybe 2 times a week, I bush walk every second weekend, I take the stairs not the escalator.I do do weights and bodyweight exercise at home but it's usually only for about 2 months then I get bored. So as you can see I like to keep in shape but I'm not a gym or diet junkie, life is to be enjoyed, regimentation sends me up the wall.

Work keeps me fit. I enjoy it but it's not my passion so the dual purpose of income and fitness works for me.It takes the right attitude and approach to achieve that though.I could slack off and fart arse around but similar to Annie i have a bulging disc in my back from 30 years of physical labor. If i don't keep my core strength up or i neglect to stretch my hamstrings regularly the the consequences are debilitating. Emotionally. I've been a parent since i was a kid of 18 so i've always had the light of my children and now grandchild even in the darkest times.I just need to look at them.I also appreciate solitude when i can get it.And my real passion is music.I've always considered music to be emotional communication. The ability to pick up an instrument and just let it out is a wonderful catharsis.

More stock food! You can't feed it too dairy cows because it flavours the milk and consumers don't like that. I quite like the bashed neeps but only if they are raw, Scottish apples 😉

It's very interesting to read how different people look after themselves. Physically, I know my numbers, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, etc. I am a non-smoker and seldom to never drinker. I take preventative health-care and early screening seriously. I walk a lot, in my job as a RN and for fun. I sleep well and eat home-made most days (except for sushi days). Socially and emotionally I travel, take calculated risks, save money, and stay connected to the people most important in my life. I date only when I feel like it and solely to scratch the itch that builds up. I study, am committed to my career and work hard. I love life and people and I practise gratitude and mindfulness. Everything I do is for me and me alone.

I kind of want to make them now just so I can say that in a sentence. I don't think I've ever eaten a swede. Mainly I stick with Australians, although there's been the odd Korean and Italian in the mix.

Annie, it’s all in the way you cook them dear. Chop in half and place flat side down in a pan with a big fat nob (of butter) and a little water. Simmer the water off which will kinda steam them and let the butter caramelise the flat side. You know you’ve got it right when they are soft through with a little chew on one side. One of the worst foods suddenly becomes one of the best!

Cholesterol, blood pressure, shonky hips, brain aneurysms and heart aneurysms all run in my family so in the last couple of years I’m really trying to do what I can to stop being medicated by age 40. I do a birthday checkup each year and although my weight had gone up slightly, my cholesterol had gone down. I try to walk most days and practice yoga daily. I’ve really started to watch what I eat a bit. Not restricting anything just being mindful of what I eat and choosing things that I know will give me what I need. Drinking I can take or leave it. Although going back to work next week I might end up having more wine than I have these holidays. But anything is good as long as it’s in moderation. x MrsC

I like exercise for everything that it brings me but I would have to say it’s the mental health it brings me that I like the most I dig cycling I used to do stupid kms like 110km rides but the last year I have just set a 37km course around Newcastle and go for a pb instead Winter I do this and motocross Summer time I switch to 4 times a week on the pushy with a 60-70km ride Sunday, 5 km park run on Saturday and gym 3 times a week and with the running and cycling in summer is always finished with a swim at Nobbys or Mereweather beach I love it Physical fitness has become such a huge part in my life as I gave up drinking 3 years ago as I was just “over it “ and being unhappy with my self , I’m less stressed a better father as I lead by example not just sit there and tell the kids to get outside. I find myself more patient and love beating a pb .

I have one of these gizmos, I thought I’d hate it, I have several watches I never wear, love it ! Wear it everyday, and the subtle prompts and reminders are great for getting you off your bum or giving you a pat on the back. Warning ! It can own you in no time if you let it, awards and personal bests is a serious rabbit hole. Carry on.

I dress to suit me and never to keep up with trends. I’ve got a lot belly and jiggly arms that have stuck with me through the good times and the bad haha. I train 4 days a week in group fitness and walk in Sunday’s with the girls, eat well, just have trouble with portion control :) For my mental health I like to write songs, poems and erotica. I enjoy parks and gardens so will try and get outdoors even if it’s just my back yard. I have a bit of a sexless marriage situation happening due to mismatched libidos which for a while really changed how I saw myself. I honestly would put on the clothes but not feel special at all. Joining here has put the sparkle back in my selfies. Ironically nothing physically has changed but I walk with confidence again and I truly believe it’s all in the swagger that others are attracted to. We are all beautiful and can be sexual beings beyond measure, so please don’t ever compare yourself to anyone else. I guarantee you there’s a line around the block waiting for their chance with you just as you are!

Since joining, I have been inspired by all the stunning people I have met, and I want to improve my appearance after years of neglect. I have started bike riding, just made it to 10km 2-3 times a week. I walk or ride to the gym, work, shops as much as I can. I attend the gym 6 days a week. Yoga for flexibility 😉 Slowly but surely I am starting to see results. 20kg gone and I have muscles! It’s very exciting to see everything tightening up. I like to please, and that means being in great health and physical condition to enable me to do everything a guy wants to try. I always have perfect nails, mani & pedi. I have had laser, but still get waxed fortnightly for perfection. I get a weekly spray tan to improve my skin tone. Eyelash extensions are fantastic for making my eyes big and open, which I find a lot of guys like when your lips are busy... to look into my eyes. I have had my makeup tattooed on so what you go to bed with, you will wake up with the same person. There are no nasty surprises in the morning. It’s time consuming. And a lot of pressure to maintain, but that comes from my need to please, not from other guys. My partners have actually asked me to stop, they like me at this weight, my curves, they liked me when I was bigger, they don’t care. But I do. The only disappointing thing is no shows, as I go to huge effort.

Love the post. I am a 6 to 7 day a week gym type. I have been training for about 30 years. Its so much a part of who i am it is not only a physical element its for my mental health as weel. And as such my training is structured for longevity. I want to be training as long as humanly practical. So focusing on intensity is my approach. I once was a chippy and have the disk problems to prove it. I need to look after thus or i am floored for days. i manipulate my eating to adjust to how i feel my body needs. Sometimes i put on a little to much body fat so i dail in my eating. Or i feel i need to be fitter rather than bigger so i increase my cardio. I stopped going to the gym to impress others sometime in my 20s. These days this is my personal journey. I am my worst and best critic...

I do a lot of exercise with my body weight as resistance. I like working my shoulders the most. I'm the guy at the gym that uses the roman rings, pull up bars, and bugger all weights. One day I would love to be able to do an iron cross, but not too worried if I don't. Compound strength exercises are my thing - strength and tone without bulk.. Lots of push-up variations and core work. And I also do Yoga for flexibility. Still haven't reached that holy grail as yet, I may never. I walk a lot and I also make sure I'm getting enough sleep. I watch how may calories I consume over a week, try to limit my sugar intake, keep alcohol limited to virtually zero, and I'm proud of my body as it's taken a lot of work. I have a 4 pack - my age makes the six pack tricky. I like my gym sessions, music in my ears, and busting muscles until fatigue takes me away from the worries of the world.

Interesting story. The end of the day it comes fown to how fickle you are. Fitness is good for a practical purposes, but if it's for looks you should ask yourself why?
-

I think fitness is for many things including looks. If you wear makeup, dye or style your hair, buy new clothes, it is all appearance and should not be considered fickle. Taking pride in how you present yourself is not fickle. RHP proves that nice profile pictures get way more views and no profile pics don't have many.
