How compulsory are the names for doms, and is there a register?

I mean you look at fetlife or alt or bdsm and you find all these geezers with names like Sir Spoffinton ScrotumKnob III or Lord DickBrain McDork. Is there a register for these things, like the register for coats of arms? Is there some sort of obscure combinational grammar, perhaps written by a misguided doctoral student who misunderstood Chomsky? Given that all the names tend to sound a little north of ridiculous, how do you know which ones actually excite the women who hang around the bdsm scene? And what if you make some horrible semiotic mistake, like calling yourself Sir Stephen Vas Deferens instead of Sir Deferens Vas Steven? Is there some sort of court martial, where if you are found guilty you know cos when you walk back into the hearing room the vibrator on the bench is pointing towards you, and you are invited to go to the regimental library with your revolver?These are important questions. Not enough work is being done in this area.

Lol! And as one of said females who tends to frequent such scenes, I have to agree, some of the names can be a little ridiculous. Although, I have found that the true Dominants, as in, the ones who aren't just horny teenagers out for some kinky fun claiming to be experienced Doms, tend not to perpetuate the bad habit. The real Doms are less about the fluff and more about substance. That's what makes a real Man! Hehe Your post made me giggle... i look forward to reading what others might have to say on the matter. So I could be kings of a rod? have to lose the 's' too I think, and then sure as eggs some bastard would claim he was the Pretender to the Throne of Rod inherited it from Rod Stewart or someone, and I would have to be Prince of the Rod III (bar sinister). I think it might be better to call myself small. if asked my second name I could say dick.
