How Do you Deal With Your Typos..

September 25 2012

I've been Online about 3 years now Chatting ...As some of you know I have issues with My short arm Hitting My Large Right Breast and bouncing Off! it making My Fingers hit the wrong key or 2 at once he!he! It can be frustrating at times and embarrassing when others Point them out in the Forum.. It's so much easier not to dwell on what you can't read and focus on what you can :) Rather than let it make me annoyed get me down II prefered to call it .Typonese ... Typonese= too many Typos so they form their own Language.. Someone shared that name for it.. I Embraced it making Life so much easier when Typing.. I Amaze Myself what Cool New words I form at times because of it ha!ha!.. So Tell me why does it happen to You? Large Breasts etc. Big Fingers .especially for the Guys ...Cat walking over the keys when you're typing... What? makes you get to the stage you want to throw the keyboard against the Wall..End up in a sobbing Mess ... OR Do you make it into a Positive thing like me and the Person who called it that in the 1st Place he!he! I look forward to your Feed Back Cheers Lu :)

    Sticky fingers?....that and I actually spilled a glass of champagne over my keyboard. Find it worse now that I use my new shiny smart (?) Phone and I hit on the send button before I check . I do love my Swype keyboard though..makes sending these and txts quickly, tho sometimes the sender needs a sense of humour at what they may recieve..

    But still they occasionally make it through. I have no problems with genuine mistakes and typos, or if someone has language issues (English as a second language, dyslexia etc.) Repeated grammatical errors however really annoy me (mostly lack of punctuation and spacing) because it means I have to work twice as hard to make sense of it. When people know better but can't be bothered I usually just skip past it.With chatting I'm much more relaxed, since you've got time constraints and the language is conversational, not formal. Emails, forum posts, social media etc. however I do treat as formal spaces and expect the same, since you've got that extra 20 seconds to review what you've just written before you hit 'post'.Tongue-in-cheek to the spirit of your post though, Madame Dragonfly, maybe cut back on the capital letters? Capitals are very important: they're the difference between "helping your uncle Jack off a horse", and "helping your uncle jack off a horse."

    I have a great deal of trouble with my keyboard. I think something must have been spilt on it as there is a cluster of keys, including w, a, s and d that often don't register when I'm typing. I often don't notice and my posts come out looking silly. If you notice spelling errors from any here else on the keyboard, it's just my own stupidity.

    Typos bug me, but my own moreso than others. I do the same as Neptune and review what I've put down, which also helps me examine the tone of the message I'm about to send out. It's also a chance to catch up on any words that have slipped out of my vocabulary or I've forgotten their real meaning.If it's getting on your nerves try writing out the message first in a word processor (just had to check the spelling on that ha!) which has an auto correct or spell checker program. What really confuses me are the people who insist on spelling incorrectly with effort involved or use acronyms and lingo that is so specific or bizzare it borders on IT/Military codes.

    If you have too much bad gin you tend to make a shit load of typos. What I do is pretend I’m typing in a language I've not learned. Maybe it's not even been invented.I watch in amazement as new words spew forth.. And even fifth. Then I write them down and show them to the parsley cutter. I'm amazed at how well a few choice words can enhance the night pasta sauce.~rubs tummy~

That's so funny and true too .My Reply is whatever floats His Boat ha!ha1 Seriously I used the Capitals for a reason which you commented on. I was emphasizing certain words ..Not shouting them at you though:) Thanks very much for your reply I loved it as I do all your Intelligent warped ones on any Topic..I always get a giggle out of them Keep them coming ..Cheers Lu :)

    Hi! Hun :) Well that's food for thought.. Babies have their own Language etc So why not Typonese as the adopted form of speech ..it would save people being frustrated and some awesome New Words maybe born ha!ha! ..Enjoy Lu! :)

    I really enjoy your replies and all are certainly reasons why Typos Occur..I check them several times, but there's always a couple of those little suckers that get through .. I'd love to slap them send them on their way freya13 .But they get on the site too quickly when I click my reply too soon.... I'm guilty what I do at times to the English Language unintentionally I assure you.. Thankfully most People overlook this and just enjoy or get something Positive from what I've Posted . That's all I ask..Cheers Lu :) PS I just made a cool new word guitly he!he!

    We all make spelling mistakes (my friend insists on spelling definitely as defiantly), but for the hard words there is Word or Google right? Posts on threads with errors are cool, especially if the writer is foreign or has an impairment, as mentioned on different forums. The profiles should really be up to scratch though. Please save the text speak for texts and the gangsta speak for rap songs.

    Usually a combination of my poor typing skills and fat fingers on a small keyboard - if I could find an electronic one that was as well spaced a the original manual typewriter I learned on.How do I deal with them depends on who I am typing to- predictive text kills me as the phone cannot spell in English, and on the computer the little red line and the backspace are my friend.Good friends usually ignore them or they may be blessed enough to be the type of folk as long as first and last letters are correct and all others are there ca read what I mean anyway.

    I find my most common typing error is caused by "slow thumbs". I constantly have "me at" appearing on the page as "meat".It would be most useful if RHP built a "Preview Post" option into this posting area. Or even better, a spellcheck button on the toolbar along with the font style, font size and smiley buttons.If they ever do, I just hope that it is not the standard "US English" spellcheck that comes with Microsoft software. I always make sure that the default language for spellcheck and grammar check is changed to UK English so that I don't have to put up with the appalling spelling of Americish (there's another new word for you MadamDragonfly).* 9r53h t35 j7 r8ht34w 8h 5y3 249hj 09w8589h qw 23oo;

    Quoting 'keepingkarma' ... just doesn't get my pommie lingo! KK xx My youngest son got one of those things. (Big Bang Theory has an absolutely hilarious episode with a running gag about Siri).What stunned me is that when he put his mother's phone number into it under "Mum" it just would not recognise his request to "Call Mum". He had to change his entry to "Mom" before it would recognise his request! And the damn thing wasn't even built in the U. S. of A.!!
