I looked at your profile and you are going to be inundated.......... Few tips.... Always get a face pic (not with sunnies and a hat on)..... Always meet in a public place...... Always leave your details with a friend, who, what, where and when....... I personally if living alone would not bring someone to my place first up, however if you feel safe, just make sure details are given to a friend....... It doesn't matter how far you get, YOU CAN ALWAYS SAY NO!!!!!......... Apart from these beginner points, Enjoy lol

I'd rather have thought you would have attracted more replies from the ladies by now with relevant advice, but alas. Anyway, Bigmamma seems to have covered it pretty well. As has been advised, learn to screen very well. Don't say yes on an 'impulse' - try and do your homework first. Look at their profile and see if they have contributed to any forum postings - if they have, then you can try and get a 'feel' for them by reading their comments. If not, correspond with them a few times and ask as much as you want to know - if they are not interested, pass them by. The less you find out initially, the bigger surprize you can expect ! Big Mama mentioned it and Ralf, enter with eyes open and take your time to connect. If unsure and you need advise or opinions which you may not be able to discuss with your current circle of friends or family, post it on the forum or search forum for related topics. I found it helpful to get info from the forum posters as this area of online "dating" was very new to me and some of the dating behaviours and norms were explained in a threads. Very educational. good luck and stay safe.

I have a rule to meet in a public place for a coffee or drink . That way both parties can have a face to face and decide if they want to go any further. If nothing's doing ' better to know there and then.. Nothing ventured , nothing gained as they say. Agree with BM about letting someone know where you are, that's important. Good luck.. Sounds like you're ready to do some of the things you always wanted...

Not all is what is seems. There are plenty of profiles with fake pictures or pictures that are 10 years out of date. People say they are single when in fact they are married, people can put up a fake persona online. So as others have said, meet in a public place first so that you can actually see that they are really who they say they are. Have fun.

Hi Blueberry, the way you describe in your profile you are pining for someone you can't have, can potentially make you come across as insecure, unsure and frankly: an easy target for some not-so-pleasant men. These are my assumptions of course, as I only went with what your profile says. I apologize if I'm out of line. I find that RHP gives back what you bring to it. I believe if you arrive with the attitude you'll get what you deserve, that's usually exactly what happens. Both in a positive and negative way. As for safety: a lot has already been said. I'll add that I'll never accept a drink that I haven't seen poured and will never leave it unattended.Tell someone where you are, but also mention casually to your date that you have. Always bring money for a cab in case you want to make a getaway (and have had a drink/don't want him knowing your licence plate or follow you/whatever.) Stay safe, screen well and have fun. And always, always trust your gut.
