Holidaying solo

November 25 2018

I’d love some advice from you all.
I’m looking at going on holiday for abut 5 nights towards the end of January on my own. Only got about $1000 budget for flights/accomodation. Want to be able to relax in the sun, be near a beach and maybe go on a few local trips but I’m feeling a little apprehensive. I’m well travelled but it’s been a while since those travelling days and I worry about looking like a billy no mates😝. Im thinking Asia as my budget fits with that, but also happy with going to another state in Australia.
Have any of you experienced the same situation and can recommend
any great places to visit.
Thank you in advance. — looking for recommendations.

With a break of less than a week I’d consider going somewhere local that you never usually visit and use Airbnb.
I went to Avalon earlier this year for a couple of nights at an Airbnb. Under an hour’s drive and it was like being interstate for me. The central coast and the Illawarra have accommodation on Airbnb right next to gorgeous beaches and cute little towns. It’s amazing how many unfamiliar yet great beaches there are close to Sydney.

As you only have a week come to Qld. You can catch a plane from Sydney to Sunshine Coast or can catch one to brisbane & catch the shuttle up, which ever is cheaper. If you make it after school holidays then accom prices will be lower. We have sunny weather, beaches, surf. You can go to Australia Zoo, Underwater World. Plenty of places to eat & drink. I would suggest Maroochydore as its not far from airport & has everything you want. Cheers Greg

Yes get a cute little Airbnb and go to Mooloolaba on the Sunny coast has lots of trendy bars with live music, cafes, restaurants close to Maroochydore, Caloundra and Noosa. Eumundi markets on a Wed and Sat for beautiful homemade jewellery, candles and clothes. Beautiful beaches that go for kms. Beautiful one day perfect the next lol 😊😍

    Some great advice everyone.
Leaning towards an Airbnb at port Douglas and getting a fire care so I can go palm cove, cape trib etc.
Do like the idea of Bryon though.
Only been once but didn’t have the chance to explore.
    Will look into that.

    Hi Miss Naughty,

Byron is gorgeous and surrounding places like Lennox Head. Coolangatta is also a great holiday spot, all the southern end of the Gold Coast is with more beaches than you can fit in. Back to Coolongatta, Kira Beach is a fab spot to watch the sunrise or sun set.

Hope you have a great holiday 🙏🏻

Look for a place that has a swingers meet too. I think there is a place in the Gold Coast right? You seem to be a gorgeous woman so you will find friends fast at a swingers social meet or sex party!

Miss Naughty, I recently came back from Port Douglas and did Cape Tribulation and the Daintree. A beautiful part of the country. I actually drove there, just me and my daughter and got to see so many things, especially Mission Beach, which was so beautiful. We went to Green Island (Great Barrier Reef) and Kuranda town and the butterfly sanctuary. Palm Cove is nice. I highly recommend FNQ

Emma, if you’re gonna go Byron I can point you in the right direction of a couple of lovely ladies I know up there. They’re really down to earth and would definitely welcome you with open arms being a friend of mine.
Couch surfing is a fun way to travel around for next to nothing too.

In terms of temperatures and humidity, I’d choose Byron for soul comfort. Now what does your heart say?
