Agree with everything you said, 50zcool. I was watching the live stream from CERN where the result was revealed, and it was pretty amazing to see people who have dedicated decades of their lives to understanding the universe, with tears in their eyes at the discovery. It's a historical moment in history, an example of the pretty amazing things that can be achieved when people and nations actually put their shit to one side and co-operate.Yay science!xx Stuck.P.S Also, it's a "boson", with an "o".

Yep, and when we one day discover we are all from the same source and realize we all fight our brothers and sisters.....what a sad sad realisation it is.....all this money goverments spent on war we could use to feed the starving, homeless and poor. Its such a shit the humans dont learn.....we still in the dark ages, most of us. And religion has a lot to answer for,, keeping the knowledge hidden......I mean the vatican knows and knew a lot already.......I dont even cant imagine what they are hiding in the secret libarary, all this knowledge they have kept from us all this thousend's of years. I could just cry. And think about all of you men.....when EVE wouldnt have let you bite in the apple, you would still be without any knowledge......praise the FEMALE for letting you bite.

Hi just a note about the so called "higgs boson" the boson is a misnomer as its named after a scientist (Bose) who posited a particle that gave mass and was a contemporary of Einstein. Higgs questionedin the 60's what caused mass and proposd it was field which is what is supposed to give mass to sub atomic" particles" that manifest as waves when interacting with different waves. And PLEASE don't use GOD in connection with a scientific endeavour investigating the universe and how the universe works as I am sceptical of the whole concept of God. Otherwise enjoy some interesting discussion. Mike

More should be spent on things that will improve the world like cold fusion (no carbon) and ways to defeat illnesses like cancer, alzheimers, common cold. Mike
