Give me a good novel anyday...

July 28 2012

I looooooove reading books for entertainment. And I will try most types of books, as long as they're not text books, horror, or anything to do with hurting kids or animals. I read for pleasure :) Now, I've just polished off the "Fifty shades...." trilogy and it was an easy entertaining read. My problem however, with this and most other books, is that I don't resonate with the female characters. Ana, the lead female in this trilogy, absolutely gets her undies all knotted up every time another female looks sideways at her man. I don't get it and never have! Mr W and I have an open relationship, so I know that I am less protective and jealous than most people, but all of my friends that I have asked tell me they find it flattering and kinda cool when other females are attracted to their man. So tell me, to all those other people out there who like to read, are there any good books that I will understand and possibly even be similar to the lead female? Thanks in advance and I apologise for the lack of formatting (damn phone)! Mrs Wilko xx

3 different scenarios and good clean fun. I resonated with 2 of the leading ladies. A short Novel (my usual one for short flights - also raises some eyebrows on the flight )   Games Girls Play by Deanna Lee   Kisses Focus

Thanks for all your replies. I now have plenty of amunition next time I visit the library. Eagertoplay.... It's not so much that erotic fiction is new as such... It's just newly acceptable I guess. I only got the first book when my 5 year old daughter went to the book shop and asked for a new book for mummy's birthday! And they gave her soft porn! That wouldn't have happened 6 months ago :) But I'm not just after erotic/romance books. I want anything where the female character isn't a dipshit! Cheers Mrs W xx

excellent series of books, though I was a little disappointed with the final book, but a really good read, I was waiting to see if the son would come back into it at some point, you would have to have read the books to understand that bit

favourite erotic writer..Anais Nin....her erotic short stories and her diaries....anything she has written really. As far as 50 shades goes,I recently read volume one and I now refer to it as ''Fifty Shades of Twilight''. It is a similar formula, innocent heroine, darkly disturbed and disturbing hero just waiting to be rescued by our heroine. BUT Twilight and 50 Shades are entertaining and often informative for those of us who dwell in Vanillavillex Hugs H

I figured if there was this much hype they can't be very good.
