Getting old, it's fucked.

I had to go to the doctors today to get my eyes checked, I'm starting to have to hold the paper away from me just to read it. I remember turning 30, depressed me for a few days. Turning 40, well that took me a week or two to get over. I didn't even have a party for it, did not want to know about it. Now I wear reading glasses, next thing you know I'll have to take a pill just to fuck. I hate getting old.The only people that call me a young fella these days are people in their 80's. Anyway just wanted to vent my frustration with my first "old person" illness, reading glasses.

Yep, like the following: 1. aches in places you didnt know existed 2. you gotta go pee....NOW! 3. party all night...until 10pm and then its 'zzzzz' til dawn. 4. Memory loss Um... I forget the rest. Thank heaven for small mercies!! Thank genetics for the BIG ones

Happy 40th !!! As the title of this little missive says, it could have been worse. I turned 51 this year and suddenly found out that I fell out of EVERYONE's criteria (which seemed to be set 45-50). So seriously, does that extra candle on the cake really make me suddenly TOO OLD? Am I now considered over the hill, one foot in the grave, looking for cheap rates at the retirement villiage? Hell, I don't feel 51, I sure as shit don't act 51, but I don't hide the fact I am 51. I am proud to reach this age, some of the things I have done, well lets just say a few though I wouldn't get past 40 candles lol Remember that adage, "AGE IS BUT A NUMBER". I have met women who although their driver's licence says they are in their early 40's act far older than me, and conversely, know some delightful women in their mid 50's who could give a lot of women in their mid 30's a run for their money in looks and attitude to life. Unfortunately too many here have their own paradigms about age and think that if someone is outside of that bracket they can't possibly be worthy of them. Is a pity becuase those narrow minded people are missing out on meetings some wonderful friends etc. Mooka

Well as I recall Johhny Depp and Brad Pitt are both around 47, so I reckon you're fuken whining like the Gen X kid you are for no obvious reason. Get designer glasses, keep fit and get over it... the way medical technology is advancing now that the human genome is mapped soon enough we'll be rooting well into our centenary years... and won't that be disgusting fun! the good news is we may not remember who we've fucked so every day is going to be a new experience! Here is an experiment i always wanted to try. what would happen if a woman agreed to go out with you and you were say 3 months inside her age barrier.the day after your birthday would sheA/ dump you as being to old.B/ continue to go out with you.and why are women so much more ageist than men, it seems to be a real "flat earth belief" with many many women.Cheers Nev .....just wondering

Ok I'm sprung, I'm actually 41. Just couldn't bring myself to write down that 4 number. Fuck I was born in the 60's man, I remember hippies ,The Beatles were still together. I was around when they landed on the moon.I remember the day Elvis died. I used to watch b&w tv. Now I'm depressing myself, I'm only a few years away from being a grampa. Fuck that. I'm mentaly too young to be getting physically too old. Cheers Mr old man easy

Oh dear! *to the tune of who let the dogs out*Who let the geriatrics out, who, who.... Um... I was told you're only as young as the person your feeling.... maybe snag yourself some younger men / women ?Alternatively, hang out a nursing home and feel foot loose and fancy free *giggles*

Well we all age and age is just a number. A number of my mates have this thing about how ald they are, as for me I have never let it concern me. Each year is another added, each year I still think I'm younger than I am. Is it just that I am a kid at heart and nothing will ever change that? Who knows, who cares, so long as I can get up in the morning and get out and about I'll be happy. Keep the mind and the body active, stay young at heart! There was a skit a number of years ago where the guy did everything you could imagine and then some, did a big broadside beside a grave and dropped his carcass in it totally knackered. Thats it, live life to the fullest!!! Don't leave anything in it coz that would be just plain wasteful!!! Age - do you care??? It is just a number!!! Hereforthefunofit Lets

Stalky and Bubba, you two are funny crazy cats!!! As for me, Im loving my 40's!! This year in particular has been one of the best! Your age...Take it embrace it and run with it! Oh and as Stalky says...look after it- but dont over modify it LOL...!! Glad to see you back again Mooka :)
