Gender? Sins & Virtues

September 15 2018

A curious train of thought for me that started with the idea that the Sins have Genders. And why should we not have virtues too after more thought? (thank you internet) Humilityagainst Pride, Kindnessagainst Envy, Abstinenceagainst Gluttony, Chastityagainst Lust, Patienceagainst Anger, Liberalityagainst Greed, Diligenceagainst Sloth..This is not about religion but how you see the Sins and Virtues as Genders? Peachy, love to see this be a fun topic xo

Well, i see what you are trying to do but it’s hard to view the idea of “sin” separate from religious since it’s a fundamentally religious concept. Other thing is that pride and lust are pretty much naturally occurring phenomenons that are universal and not unique to any genders. Virtues? Yes but maybe not Chastity? Marcus Aurelius talks about these elaborately in his writings. “Know thyself” is pretty much a key to moderating human emotions and urges. But then yours is a very stoic point of view so I can see where you are coming from. - Posted from rhpmobile

It is of course what we make of it, and yes SatyrandNymph, I do have a stoic point of view. I'll have a go, I didn't want to offer too much in the OP because I wanted to avoid having the topic about my opinions but I can see some help is needed before we all drink ourselves to death! So... Sloth reminds me of the animal which I envision as male for some reason. and Diligence? Hmmm, funny it comes across as a female thing. In general, this did start with some visions of Elizabeth Hurley as the Devil in Bedazzled. A twist on the usual vision of the Devil as a man as well as a dawning awareness that genders have 'roles' a lot of the time. We're seeing more switching of traditional roles these days but amusing that roles in stage plays in the past could be played by men or women. The witch in Puff n Stuff is a man! So, give us what you got in the way of imagination... I celebrate the idea of adult discussion. Feel free to expand on the theme but please play nice because our experiences and thoughts are individual, Peachy

Quoting 'PeachyPearL' Sloth reminds me of the animal which I envision as male for some reason. and Diligence? Hmmm, funny it comes across as a female thing. There is a tendency in these sort of forum topics for women to be tainted with a saintly glow, and men to be painted in the inverse. I just came here to say that, and I'll just leave it there. *** EXCEPT *** I have observed many times over the years behavior from both genders that challenges the stereotype. I shall cite a simple example, in place of a rant. Many years ago I moonlighted as a housekeeper at a hotel, just on Sundays, for a bit of extra cash. The normal housekeeper asked me when I started if I thought men or women left cleaner rooms. I replied that women would of course be neater, to which the housekeeper laughed. And she had a point, because it was mostly the women that left absolute fucking pigstys behind for the cleaners.

Your post is exactly why we can't explore this idea. I am not trying to approach any real life examples to make it too serious, my deepest apologies if I have touched a sensitive spot. Peachy

So much for gender being a social construct and therefore irrelevant

I am not trying to approach any real life examples to make it too serious, my deepest apologies if I have touched a sensitive spot. Peachy I'll just go and calm down (wanders to a corner, squats on his haunches, sucks his thumb). It's just that (suck suck) I honestly have never seen and (suck suck, gag) still do not see such rampant cuntiness among the men I have encountered, still encounter and (the highly noticeable smell of urine) hopefully will encounter in the future. Some cunts, not many (the sweet perfume of faecal matter mingles ungraciously with that of urine).

Liberality reminds me of couples, unsurprisingly I suppose... I was born in the 60's and the foster parents were swingers lol... I'm sure we all have our peccadilloes. Abstinence was never on my radar. Peachy, the interesting thing is I do see how different we can see and be on the simplest levels, I do respect that
