Organising something yourself gives you the control as to who is coming or not. I’d probably approach people discretely also. Putting up something like a date finder may be akin to opening Pandora’s box. Doing it discretely also allows you to ensure that you have chatted to anyone before hand to ascertain compatibility - physical and mental.

You could have selection criteria and applicants must provide photos and then a telephone interview. Then there would be a short list - succesful applicants would be advised of the date and time....
