why is it that people think that they can view your profile, not send a message to you and think they can become your "friend".....Is it just me? I think it is rude and a little too forward

It annoys me a bit , but I just figure maybe they are newbs and not sure on the protocol of it all. And then some of them just want pretty girls pics in their friends gallery LOL. When I first started I had a few in my friends list, and they still didnt contact me via msg, so I had a little cull

When I first signed up, I didn't understand what the "friends" list was for, so I asked a few people to be my friend. I didn't know the protocol, as dontgothere has mentioned. Now I know there is no protocol, and everyone treats their friends list as somethnig different. I am sure people are not meaning to be rude, even if it comes across that way.

I guess for some, the amount of "friends" they have on thier list is important. I cant understand it myself. I just ignore them. Friends to e are just that......friends

It's because the person just can't msg you and is hoping like hell that you can msg them!

Nice theory horny, and also what I thought initially but not at all the case. Even so, a flirt would make more sense. You only have to see my friends list (or lack thereof) to see what I think of it! Lol

I think a lot of people use their friends list hoping that if someone checks the profile they will also out the friends that are shown on there.

go and get a face book profile. Like Capital I need to meet them or at the very least have lots of communication.

I admit, I have been guilty of this in the past. However when i learned protocol I realised that adding someone who I dont even know wont be the winning move to a girls heart haha. But as a guest ( yes i should be putting my hand in my pocket ) its hard getting ladies attention on here so people that do this is understandable from my point of view!!

I only add "friends" whom I've met in real life. If I receive a request I say as much politely and it's been no problem so far. :)

we cant see the point of being 'friends' with anyone here, unless we've met them, or at least found a common ground or point of view and had a continuing dialogue with them........and by that, i mean outside of the forums etc......we have quite a few hundred people who have sent us friend requests, but whose requests all remain unacknowledged.......some time soon, we may delete them all...lol

Quoting 'xxticklishxx' go and get a face book profile. Like Capital I need to meet them or at the very least have lots of communication. Quoting 'slippery_halo' I only add "friends" whom I've met in real life. If I receive a request I say as much politely and it's been no problem so far. :) One reason my friends list is so bare. They should pay membership and send a message, sharing pics as well to be polite...very much like meeting someone in real-life...unless it is at a masked annonymous party ET xox

you remember when Telstra offered it's mobile users a 5 Friends offer? IT went something like this... you listed 5 friends number and you could call them for like a dollar a minute or something. Ok, I cant remember how heep it was... but, I do recall I got pretty excited at how much I could save... \So, I started.... I filled in My mate Rob's number, then I filled in... AHHH no! see, THAT was the problem. I had no second, third fourth of fifth number to put in. Sure, I had people on my phone list, but absolutely no one who I called for more then a minute at a time anyway, and then only once a week, or fortnight, or once a month. I rang Rob up, and told him.. he laughed... told me he tried the same thing, and only had me on his list. I said to him - "Right oh mate: from now on, you only call me, and i will see if I can get another option out of Telstra." sad really... Anyway.. must have been a long time issue, as I still dont have any friends .... just something light folks ... caveman.x

There's a cock shot of a guy whose name may remind you of the frog on the Muppet Show - he shows up on a massive number of profiles that I look at.I just checked him out - he's got 632 friends. Assuming at least some women turn him down and I don't recall having seen him on the forums, he's got to be trying for a record...
