Frenuloplasty??? Anyone had this done? Please share you experience :-)

November 05 2013

So on the 22nd I will be having a frenuloplasty surgery and cant wait. This procedure lenghtens the piece of skin underneath the head of the penis (the sensitive piece of skin) as the foreskin can not be retracted all the way back without the head bending slightly forward. I did not know I had this problem until this year (24 years old) so I am assuming some people have this symptom or slight symptoms all their lives without ever enjoying the sensation of a fully functional foreskin. Simply interested in hearing other guys story if you have had this done please share and hopefully this topic will inform and help others with the same problem in the future. Thanks :)

Following with interest sexy_swede. I have heard of this procedure, but that is all. In an uncircumcised male, underneath the foreskin is a mucous membrane that lubricates itself over the head of the penis. When circumcised, this dries out and is seen as the lighter coloured skin at the top end of the shaft. Does the procedure restore the mucous membrane somehow?

hi and thanks for your reply, nice to see someone replying, really appreciate it :)This procedure does not do anything in regards to the muccus membrane underneath the foreskin. It elongates the frenulum so that the foreskin can be retracted all the way back without restriction or pain. This procedure is to cure the symptoms of 'frenulum breve' if you are not familiar with this you can wiki or google it :).Are you uncirc? if so you should normally be able to retract the foreskin without the head of the penis bending forward which in my case it does.:)

Or will it all be removed. A question, how did you know suddenly you had this problem, and not before? I know from my sons it takes a bit until the foreskin goes back fully so to protect the head when you are a baby, and playing with your penis makes it go back more and more.Did it never hurt you, did your Doctor not look at it as you have been a young boy?Where did you grow up?My oldest son had trouble with his testicles they never came down on their own, and his first OP was as a small child, because you cant wait to long otherwise the testicles die.

I ripped mine while having sex as a teenager with my then g/f, bled heaps and was very painful for a while, healed quite well though and allowed much more movement of my foreskin. Cheaper than an operation, no waiting list, bit of a wait for the healing process! All good in the end / at the end

Ah, I think I was on the wrong track sexy_swede. Thanks for clearing that up. I was thinking of foreskin restoration where they stretch the skin from the shaft in a circumcised male to create a new one. I am cut, though wish I was born in an era when it was not ok to do unnecessary surgery on infant genitals, but that's another thread. Hope it all goes well.

Hi Litonia and thanks for the reply.Interesting questions. Well first of all It had never bothered me as such and I grew up getting used to it. I guess that was the way it was meant to be and I hadn't experienced any different. I one day came across the condition online and ended up comparing pictures with my own and suddenly realised that I have the same condition and then made an appointment to see a urologist whom said I can get it fixed with a minor surgery. My foreskin is not tight in anyway at all, the problem lies in the short frenulum which restricts the whole foreskin from being pulled comfortably all the way back of the head of the penis. This problem has never really caused me much pain. I was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. You may want to check your sons frenulum and foreskin to ensure theirs is long enough and not to tight as this may cause them pain and other problems in the future be cautious of certain doctors advice as unfortunately there are some whom are for circumcision which is never required in this day an age unless the problem is very severe. :)

Hello. Yes I have indeed read stories of many people ripping their frenulum or though I have been lucky enough to avoid. Good to hear everything turned out well.

I have indeed heard of this method and surprisingly more and more men are growing a new foreskin overtime and if you have enough patience and commitment you can do it aswell. The head of the penis will change and become a more moist environment and more sensitive (as it should be).
