This is the worst time of year.... cricket overlaps with footy. Fuck - all they need is golf and tennis on the tele and I might acutally go outside and get some sun on me!!

How can you not watch the olympics? I hate watching cricket and tennis almost as much as I hate watching golf. Footy I can watch... AFL I enjoy and in the NRL I support Manly..... what else! I would have thought Jean would be a dragons supporter actually. Hugs Stalky

I hate ,yes Hate it all (AFL)and the wife is a mad MAD keen WCE fan, I never minded any of it but they insist on calling it news and to me it is sport so why do we need it in both. The other thing that drives me insaine is the fact that they beat it up all week then play and replay it on every channel all weekend and then pull each and every game apart on Monday and Tuesday like it can change the result and all this done by broken down old has beens that have never played the game as it is now,furthermore they change the rules every year search me why you would watch it lol. And yes I concider myself to be a true blue Aussie BORN AND BRED.The very fact that it has now entered the one safe place I had ( RHP) has me spitting chips. No offence but don't they have enough of their own forums GeeZZZZWaits in the corner for the fallout and loving it ha ha!

Ditto to that Earl, If they win you would like to think she would wear the skin off of it for you but they are too busy celebrating, then when they get beaten they trip over the bottom lip and the whole world has to end with the end of the game.Further to that we take fit young guys and turn them into shattered old men, If you got to see what I see in my job you would have to ask is it all worth it.Don't get me wrong I'm all about the original game but these guys are bigger and faster than ever, the game is quicker not to mention that the season starts while in some states the temp is stupidly high, and the players don't get enough time to mend.Plus they take very young guys, tell them that they can have all that money and fame,but you can't vent each week you only get a few weeks a year and while you do we will judge your every move but we wont condition you for the fallout and at best we will give you an even bigger drongo to mentor you.Sorry but as a West Aussie it was my preferred code but I cringe now when ever it is due back around.oh one more point for you to ponder, Sam Newman, funny yes but please at what lengths for a giggle. thats my 3 buck 50

Have our first pre-season game this weekend. Followed by games every weekend leading to the start of the season. That's playing the true football (soccer for those that prefer to follow american language). Have a proper coach this season which should make the club stronger. Hopefully I can take out top goalscorer again this season. Be better if we make the finals too.As for following teams, in NRL I follow the Sharks. Think it is going to be a tough season for them this year.

It drives Pusscat nuts but to me its all just pigskin in a cow paddock. I can think of better ways to spend my time than watching a couple of dozen guys run around in shorts. It does seem though that if I could get them into a spa with my girl it would make her incredibly happy, funny that... Now that I think about it a netball team just may do the same thing for me ;) Woody

I was brought up with Norths cause my grandad was a first grade ref way back when, and came through the Norths club, and grandmother (his wife) was a St George supporter - so now it is just the Dragons.I'm not a die hard fan though, I never really grokked people getting so 'into' their teams performance - you know the "we won!" or drowning their sorrow because "we lost" type fans, when really "you didn't do anything, you sat on a chair and watched".

That's right Connie... and I used to follow Collingwood until Sydney Swans came along and started promoting the game here to my kids... they played half time a couple of times (the kids not Collingwood hehe)... Swannies really know how to market the game to an NRL crowd.... AFL development for kids is far and wide superior to the way NRL works... my kids played NRL for a season but in the under 12's there were always these giant kids who had beards squashing them flat... hehe.. kind of takes the fun out of it. On the other hand, they loved AFL and played it for years. Stalky
