First Day Blues ?

January 31 2010

Tomorrow my little girl starts her first day of school !   Wow... where did the time go ?   I am excited for her, she'll cope fine.  She talks more than I do, is more outgoing than I am, can sing and dance, already read and write and is ready to go.   Me on the other hand... I think I've been in denial.  I don't have anything ready.... I'm wondering how do I make her lunch ?  Can I give her frozen pizza or nuggets ?  What about to drink ?  I only have a few bottles of wine in the fridge...will that do if I put it in her drink bottle ?   I haven't even bought her books !  Oh dear... am I going to get detention for being a naughty mum ?   What if the other mums don't like me ?    Is there protocol about fucking the dads on Day One ?   Please help... I'm lost ! Messages of support tomorrow and lots of chocolate will be required ! (ohhh maybe a few hot dads carrying the chocolates !!!)   A slightly scared Miss Saturn

Quoting 'customer69'Expect the unexpected, during the first few weeks.Your daughter's moods, will swing, like Tarzan. She will either be overexcited and hard to settleor overtired, hungry and grumpy.Prepare her evening meal early, just in case. My boys needed nanna naps some days, or dinner by 5pm.I'm sorry - are you talking about me? It sounds like it!

Miss Saturn,be vewy vewy careful when hunting "Dads".Although there ar many Dads who like to drop their kids off at school, (I take a real interest in what goes on in my billy lids school life) you've got to watch the "Mothers Mafia"!!!!!!!!!Don't get caught out making passes at any attached "Dads" cause the "MM" have a very wide reach and can inflict real damage and concern.First tip- Forget abot the "Dads" for the first few weeks/months. You need to infiltrate this elusive gang, and in order to do so you must be seen as psing absolutely no threat. Unfortunately for you, as you are quite the little spunk, you will need to work hard. Dress down, dowdy, neat but dowdy.Once youhave successfully infiltrated this gang, you will be invited to some really awesome parties, like Tuppaware and the like.Once you have reached this stage, you are free to begin scoping out the "Hot Dads", but beware, the "MM" are sharp as hawks, and heaven forbid they catch you looking at one of their blokes (The upshot is that the majority of the "Taken" guys have let themselves go a bit)However there is some awesome news at this stage- The other "Patched" mums within this gang, will now share all the goss you require, in order to stage a systematic assault on all the hot "Single" dads available, and you will have no shortage of "Wingman-women" at your disposal!Happy hunting Saturn

Oh Mr Rough!  Your description is EXACTLY on the mark! *hehehehe*  In fact, my friends and I have nicknamed our little coffee drinking, piss up party, dinner going, girls weekend away group the "school name" Mafia Mums LOL...actually, it was one of the husbands that came up with the name but we ran with it!  We are a very tight group and you certainly don't want to mess with us *giggle*.  (Actually, we're all just normal every day mums but it's the fact theres about 15 of us and our families who are really close we seem to be looked apon as some kind of elitist clique when nothing could be further from the truth).   Trish is right on the mark with the office staff!  I find baking them cakes to be a real winner and it's also important to remember their names!  Suck suck suck suck up to these woman and they will be very handy allies.

Dropped the little one off at school this morning.  She was fine as expected... I was very intimidated by the groups of mums standing around chatting like they were all best friends.   I don't know anyone, so stood under a tree on my own... boo hoo... no one wants to play with me !   I checked out the dads, there were quite a few of them... nearly all standing next to their wives !  There were one or two dads on their own and I glanced their way and smiled a little but that was all.  They smiled back...   I didn't know there was morning tea arranged and had to come straight to work (thanks hubby for NOT telling me everything... just because I was working and couldn't attend the info session !!!!!! rrrr).  I walked out of the playground on my own (actually hubby was there but he walked about 3 metres to my side ... perhaps he thought he'd catch something...he he he).   It is a sad day... for many reasons.  For me its the start of the biggest change in my life.   Big Hugs needed today.   Miss Saturn

Awwwhhh poor bebe. There'll still be plenty of scuffed knees and stories to tell. You'll be right. Wait until you get your first school project. HOw exciting is that! All the parents "assisting their babies" and in reality just competing for the best presentation. hehe... if you have your own office and colour photocopier.. you're miles in front! hehe...   Hugs Stalky
