In the early 80's, I was an avid follower of female bodybuilding competition but then the steroid freaks took over the game. I just adored the way that muscle development enhanced the female figure. Oddly enough, I have a different take on male steroid use but I'll save that for another topic. Today's figure comps are more like the pre-steroid era of bodybuilding. Knock 'em dead. I'll be cheering for you.

Great idea cheeky...   Speaking of such the massive Mr O weekend just happened over in Las Vegas. Its a fitness persons heaven and highlight of the year.   Females are lucky because they have 5 different categories. There are categories such as Ms Figure, Ms Bikini, Ms Fitness and Ms Olympia. Each requiring a different body density, shape and muscle to fat ratio.   I'll give you some names of the top females in the Ms Figure. There girls look hot and because its 'figure' and not 'bodybuilding' they still look feminine. Maybe not feminine enough for some   Erin Stern (2012 winner on the weekend), Nicole Wilkins, Candice Keene, Heather Dees, Teresa Anthony are all IFBB (International Federation of Body Building) qualified and in the 'Pro Figure' category. The highest level of competition in the world. Usually most women don't have the time to dedicate themselves at this level so will drop to the fitness or bikini level of competition. Look them up and go onto their websites for diet and exercise advice and tips.   Awesome :)

It obectifies women as sex objects. I'm against it. Women aren't sex objects. They're human beings!

about this subject but from what I can gather it is a sport and objectifies women in the same way as any other sport that requires you to wear nothing more than a couple of bandaids.Swimmers, beach volley ball players, etc train hard and compete, why should this sport be viewed any differently.? Follow your dream Mrs.Cheeky and don't forget to mention world peace...oops sorry that's Miss.World,a competition that does objectify and demean women.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear....Female figure competitions as in body sculpting, form /art type....i enjoy... although i am not a fan of Female body Building competitions...nor Male ones for that matter......Good Luck ..Play safe,Have Fun and be Well..

got the trophy! Highly recommend it!   It's really hard work and takes a lot of time and food (seriously). Make sure you have the support network otherwise it's almost impossible particularly if you have a family, work commitments, friendships to nurture etc etc.   You have to be mentally strong, determined with a never say die type of personality. Any weakness and lack of self belief will sabotage you.   Good luck with it and inbox me if you have any questions. Love to help! XXX

Hey Mrs Cheeky,I have to agree with the majority of posters above. Absolutely go for it!!! Don't let anything hold you back from achieving your dreams.I'm currently training a figure comp competitor, and the confidence she has got over that time is absolutely amazing. (We won our last comp). Yay!!!.It takes time, dedication, commitment, discipline and mental strength to get up on stage, and yes, all that "blood, sweat and tears" are worth it!!!! You will look amazing.I have to admire every person who gets up on that stage, as I know what it has taken to get up there. If you need any help to get started, let me know.Mr Gymcouple.
