Favourite Front man of all time

September 22 2017

Saw this on Facebook this morning, and seen as the link the song has gone on and on......great songs on there!! there appears to be a commonality between us forumites. So Favourite front man of all time for me is Freddie Mercury. Closely followed by Dave Grohl and Robert Plant.

I'm going to mention two front women that I absolutely love.... Alison Goldfrapp from Goldfrapp (who I finally got to see live earlier this year), and Shirley Manson from Garbage. Absolute goddesses both of them. For a front man I'll go with Eddie Vedder. His voice has always stood out for me.

Love him❤️ But haven't seen him live yet. Hope to one day. Michael Hutchence, awesome front man. Florence Welch from Florence And The Machine is my female pick. Love her and her voice live is incredible. - Posted from rhpmobile

Freddie Mercury for me too, is my favourite from history. And Jon Bon Jovi's not bad, either. But the best I've seen in person is probably Dave Grohl...such likeable personality and a great live voice.Paul Stanley from KISS is an awesome entertainer too. With the warpaint on and the costumes, a KISS concert is as much about the spectacle.

Stevie Nicks, saw Fleetwood Mac live back in the 70's, beautiful, her voice, clothes, presence, her and Lindsay Buckingham 😍 I lusted after both of them I think. Around the same time, Rod Stewart omg I was head over heels in love, laid on my bed swooning for days after I saw him 😛

Adam Lambert omg I haven't lusted after anyone like that for many many years. What a fuckin spunk and what a talent. Gay 😳 but I still remain hopeful 😜

James Brown Saw a documentary about James Brown years ago and in addition to talking to him, they interviewed members of the band. They talked about how Brown rehearsed musical cues associated with different moves and poses that he could throw into a song at any point for a certain musical 'hit' or 'sting' - and if they missed the cue, they'd have to pay him a fine for missing it. But that was how finely tuned Brown and his band were that they could do that sort of thing. Man, there are so many other ones, though, Tom Petty, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes, Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys, Mike Patton of Faith No More, Angelo Moore of Fishbone...so many different styles, so much talent...

I think my all-time would have to be Annie Lennox, but others that stick out; Peter Garrett, Debbie Harry, Stevie Nicks (pretty much a unanimous favourite here it seems), Bernard Sumner, Brian Molko, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson, David Byrne. I'm going to chuck Bryan Ferry in too, from the Roxy Music days. But definitely Annie for the top spot for me - beautiful, artistic, experimental, the voice of course, the chameleon of the 80's for me.
