Erotic Fiction

January 23 2011

Who here has a must-read for me in the Erotic Literature genre? Fiction or non-fiction, I'm not fussed, although confess to enjoying losing myself in a good read now and then. | I've read bits and pieces of Anais Nin and never quite got around to D H Lawrence, but am keen to stick my nose into a good book and am open to suggestions. | So, any recommendations? Do people even read books anymore??? |

Flirty, I enjoy a good book. A friend sent me a couple of volumes of erotic fiction for women which were quite entertaining. I like the short story format. It suits my ADD. I recently bought a book called Soul Deep. I enjoyed it, very hot indeed. I can't remember the author and I have loaned it to the neighbour. I have read a number of DH Lawrence books but there's not enough sex in them for me. Tobsha Lerner has a couple of collections of erotic stories. I have read Quiver and Tremble. Quiver is my favourite of the two. Madonna Mars is also a damn good read. That's it from me WTG

Here are a few that may spark your interest...|The Pearl by John Steinbeck|The Sexual Life of Catherine M. by Catherine Millet|Erotism: Death and Sensuality by Georges Bataille|The Perfumed Garden of the Shaykh Nefzawi by Sjeik Nefzawi|The Double Flame: Love and Eroticism by Octavio Paz|Les Dames Galantes by Brantome |Eros by Linda Ferrer|I could suggest others that are erotic classics but written in dialectual Spanish at the turn of the last century and have never been properly translated. These are quite remarkable, the language is more feeling than words...as it should be. Of course, I could always show you... | ...how to translate every word.

Story of O, about a woman being trained to be submissive. Or the biography of the Marquis de Sade for a little bit of non fiction.

Had forgotten "O". The Story of Johanna...don't overlook the movie from the mid-70s that in itself is an erotic adventure. | The early writings of de Sade are a good read. Interesting how convoluted it has all become with the advent of the PVC warriors and cowboys.

I blame some of my more eclectic diversions on the scouts. Before being drummed out of the core for "borrowing" a canoe and paddling across Lake Takenitch to the Girl Scout camp at 1:00 a.m. they taught me how to tie knots...and make candles...and how to navigate in total darkness. Never did make it to the rank of Eagle Scout...but glad I earned all those (de)merit badges!

I have Tremble didnt get into it. DeSade the form of writing was so old fashioned...was like trying to read Tolkien. Worth it for the point of having read it but its not something I would pick up again... Love all of Anne Rices Erotica. The Sleeping Beauty Trio being the start of all my troubles too MsV.lol . Belinda is more of a love story but so beautiful. & Exit to Eden is modern but that has been made into a Bgrade movie I think. . The publishing brand Nexus have rude stuff. . . OK but my passion these days is my chick porn in digital format. Try Elloras Cavern, Samhain publishing. If you like vampire/were sex try RG Alexander (author) I read all mine on a kindle which is an electronic book. But its branded by Amazon so you can only buy books from amazon. If you get a generic e reader from any where it will take diff formats and you can buy books from diff stores (e-pub is the most commen format or mobi) There is a real market in digital books for chick porn. But alot of it is bad, you do have to wade through some badly edited stuff. Amazon do a lot of free teaser books so you can test the author though. Mrs H xx

Is Fanny Hill the one set in old England? She starts off being like a dairy maid but ends up a courtesan (sp?) Think I may have read it :-) Mrs H

Also try Forbidden Reading by Lisette Ashton. That is a hair curler. I can lend it to you if you ever decide to do the deed. I will come and give you moral support. But my lips are sealed. My other books I loaned to some girlfriends & haven't seem them since!

Didn't Judy Blume (author of such greats as "Are You Ther God, It's Me Margret." and "Blubber") write some seriously erotic shit, too? I have never read it, obviously (the question marks give me away), but I heard she did...Someone help me out here :)

hmmm....some homework to do I think! . Bride Stripped Bare...hardly erotica, but a damn good read. As I recall, the author was in hiding for some time...used a pseudonom until her husband wanted a piece of the action...cha-ching! LOL... funny how life imitates art or is that art imitates life? :P

Based on recent latex-related threads, methinks you may just be coming along to seek pleasure in my pain! Hehehe ... They must've been great books for you to have never seen them again LOL. But would you have really wanted them back afterwards? | Morticiaaa, I also read The Bride Stripped Bare. What a fantastic read! The author was actually Nicky Gemmell, who from memory used to read the news on radio. I had a Triple J radio crush on her when I was a teen LOL. | Sidd72, what you're saying rings a vague bell with me ... can't recall why though

OOOh I forgot about that book - that was sooooo hot -have read it twice. I was actually a true story and the author committed suicide in the end because she didnt want her hubby knowing what she had been up to. (Drove her car off a cliff if I remember correctly). Pusscat xxx (Loves my e reader) Just to clarify, Nicky Gemmell is alive and well and still writing brilliant books. However yes, I think in the story, it is insinuated that the author committed suicide... Have just pulled it down from the bookcase but won't quote the postscript because anyone who hasn't yet read the book SHOULD!

A play friend of ours mentioned the author Anglea Castle, never read any of her books but an aussie and if her read is half as much fun as what her playmate's advice she gave, would be a great read. Just google it. KnS

I went crazy with book-buying last year so this year I'm making a rule, I'm not to buy a single book under any circumstances. Fortunately I stocked up on erotica before the year changed over and my rule came into effect! I really recommend Letters to Penthouse - the books. They're real erotic experiences. Each book runs the gammut of themes and there are even special volumes dedicated to specific interests - I particularly enjoyed one volume completely filled with stories of group sex. The stories are hot, real, unpredictable and often quite short - if you've got other pressing engagements. ;) I've got some fiction erotica as well but I really enjoy Letters to Penthouse, hands down. Okay, one hand down...

flirty_bi_fem - thanks for telling me that the author of the Bride Stripped Bare wasnt dead. Looked up her website last night and she has got a couple of books that sound very interesting. The only trouble I am having with my e reader (its a EzyReader) is the problem with adobe digital and copyright - can get the books onto my computer but not onto my e reader, unless they are free - and there are enough classics that I havent read to last me a life time, that are free. And it beats me too how anyone could not buy another book for a year - I could not cope! Love my reading. Pusscat xx

(this is Mrs) just today I was thinking that my Maeve Binchley is getting a bit bland lol...I was only thinking oh if only I could find some sexy books to read and here is a fantastic list. Now, if I want like an old fashioned book (remember them, with pages you turn) do normal book shops stock these?? or do I have to order via internet?? or is someone happy to loan, promise to return in good quality, no smudges or wet marks lol......

To suggest a book club. I can see it now ... Meeka, have you read Lisette Ashton's Neighbourhood Watch? Looks good. May need to take you up on the offer of a loan if I want to get my hands on Forbidden Reading, the only copy I can find on Ebay is in the UK! I'm edging closer to the deed, and at this rate it will occur sooner than the UK Postal Service can get me a book in the mail! Sidd72 - Turns out Judy Blume writes adult novels too! Must try one out, Wifey looks like a good read ... WildTassieGypsy - Is Soul Deep written by Lora Leigh by any chance? The Story of O ... must locate me a copy ... And yes Brae, I suspect Nikki is naughty .. hence the crush I mentioned having on her in my youth LOL .. Perhaps another of her books should make its way onto my list ...
