Eco-Sex and the environment

January 26 2014

So... I was wandering around in the bushes up behind La Peruse, just minding my own business, mind. It occurs to me what a terrible legacy the modern world is leaving for future generations. Back in my day, the pill had just been invented and everyone was rallying against war and naming their children rainbow or gazpacho.. you know.. flower power and peaceful names.... and everything was free love, baby. Needless to say, I'm a free love baby, through and through and thanks for keeping it real! Young people toss Condom wrappers everywhere! I mean, sure they vote for Kevin or the Greens and support the save the whales projects and rally against the great barrier reef being dredged... but I say, "whatever". They'll take these large big picture views of the environment and feel good about doing their part, and then race off and buy a new mobile phone every other month, and toss condom wrappers all over swinger's houses, and in the bush, etc, wherever they wrapped them off... and fling their condoms on the ground, or the floor, or flush them down the toilet so that they make their way to the beach.... Seriously? Seriously young people who wear condoms? these are NOT biodegradable. They take hundreds of years to disintegrate unless they're silicone, in which case they will never disintegrate. And you old people ought know better. It has to STOP! The multinationals have spread their poison all over the planet and you lot are helping them! Bareback. That's our only hope. Discuss. Well Mr Gaz, saying bare back is very irresponsible and I really don't think young men need any encouragement on that front. You need a solid good spanking! But I do agree about the condom wrappers, I have noticed that myself when walking to the beach. Another thing is ciggie butts left in the sand and out in the bush.

You know what I caught myself doing the other day...... making complaints to companies when I see something that pisses me off or to complain about their service! Lordy, I thought only old grumpy people did that. Next I will be whinging and complaining on this forum about young people.

Haha! Ok. Well bareback is better. There. Jizz is made with an all natural biodegradable lubricant built in, and it feels so good ungloved! Everyone knows this! Also, there's the added excitement of the risks involved. Nobody uses a dental dam when going Down town. Nobody uses a condom during a blow job. Nobody uses kitchen gloves and a spatula to... Oh wait, I do. Never mind that bit. Anyway, it's better for the environment. If everyone took a vigilant stand and accepted responsibility for their sex health, many of the diseases we fear would all withdraw to places that had little or no health care available. Make healthcare, not condoms! Hugs Gazpacho

Within this great land of ours and our toilet systems ? The extra items some really sad people decide to flush down there toilets will NEVER make it's way to the oceans ?? The EPA is rather strict on local water councils in our great land and therefore monitor all discharge ??? Very closely ? What the issues is more that local water works around the cost of recovery is more the issue then any discharge

since a teenager has been the most promiscuous (and fucking sexy) woman I have ever met, has NEVER used condoms. This little confession reared it's ugly head a couple of weeks ago after she told me about her ninja experience (her being the ninja - lucky boy). After I gave her a verbal chewing out, I thought about the statistics. She has never had an STI. Fuck me but I'm due to win lotto soon ...

Nappies are a real issue. No more children! I think we ought put chemicals in the water and sterilise a generation. That will help the environment. As for the cloth nappies, Ive seen women who make their own washable/re-useable menstrual pads. Bring back the rags, I reckon. HugsGazpacho

Now there is a dish for the master chef series. I just love how people are so concerned about the environment. I live on the beach and I see people on holidays go down to the beach, crap on about how pristine it is, and how untouched and blahh blahh blah then leave the wine or beer bottle, and let the pooch take a dump and they waddle up the beach with their save the fucking whale T shirt. I think they should just re use their condoms, yeah rinse the fuckers out and hang them up on the line, that way the neighbours can see your actually getting laid. the problem is that the shallow end of the gene pool does not use protectionso we are breeding a bunch of syphilitic , twits fuarkkk where did that rash come from? Dam it I should have used a hot wash on those condoms

LOL Meeka does seem to be using my handle a bit in the third person. Gazpacho, Ill take this opportunity to say hi and complement you on your lyrical tongue, and a silent sigh from me... Meeka was referring to my unerring need to post on all things sexual health and the fact that I am strong of the belief that to stop the spread of STI's people should stop believing condoms are the answer and get regular testing. For some reason that stance seams to imply in many peoples minds that I don't use condoms. Well I do, when out of disposable gloves as I keep my fingernails long and don't want to damage anything when elbow deep where the sun don't shine. Oh and a few unsavory types that I don't entirely trust have me wrapped in plastic. To the subject at hand, which is strangely something close to my heart. Researching a paper tentatively tittled 'Eco Programming.' with the hope of short cutting my way through a computer science degree. Its the small details when combined on mass that can make a difference. Like the millions and millions of condoms wrappers slowly eroding away into the tiny bits of almost nothing and then, with stubborn intent, refuse to become food for something thus threatening our very existence. My view on the looming ecological disaster and the almost biblical scale horrors that await us all are sure to elicit the same negativity as my preposterous notion that wearing condoms some how wont guarantees you are free of nasty bugs. There seems an almost pathological need to be politically correct in these forums which at times reads like right wing conservative ranting of the various radio editorialists. For the time being I will continue to neatly place my condom wrappers in the bins provided so that they can be shipped off to clay lined pits to be hermetically sealed for eternity. Not out of some need to save the whales but to satisfy my anal retentive need for order and aesthetics.

Not out of some need to save the whales but to satisfy my anal retentive need for order and aesthetics. A sensible man, at last. Yes, to regular testing, but I'm all for mandatory regular testing just to be sure. In one small and remote community in which I had some work to do, there was, co-incidentally, a very high STD rate... the guys were giving it back as soon s the girls could cure it.. and vice versa. I happened to be there one day when there was a men's meeting to discuss the problem. We were all tested, en masse. Brilliant idea Health department. There ought be more of it. Get out into the community, go to football clubs, soccer, cricket, swimming clubs, the surf club.. get the message out and test everyone in the room, right there and then... and repeat, every 6 months. We can do this! As for the politically correct Right Wing Politics around RHP... well, quite frankly, there has been a coup d'état. Move over fuckers. Gazpacho and Blindman are here. HugsGazpacho

Witches tits and vegie frangas!!! Hey I used to support the Save A Whale and Greenpeace mob!! And Lady T that sooooo pisses me orf too, so much so on New Years Day we witnessed same sitch and the perps walk off leaving their detritus behind. The kids and I picked it up, we were at a resort and those perps were a cabin over from us. We dumped the rubbish on the table at their unit.....hopefully they got the point. Personally cum dribbling down my legs is a bit of a waste when it's so good for the skin (ask any budding male beautician) and my familiarity with condoms is miniscule.....though in certain settings a MUST!! Personally I'm a fan of promoting a "sperm-friendly environment" and take my environmentally friendly status very seriously. My STI Free status is checked regularly and hangs on my office wall. 🙈🙉🙊 Lol

There seems an almost pathological need to be politically correct in these forums which at times reads like right wing conservative ranting of the various radio editorialists. Telling most people how close the human species is to becoming extinct - or at the very least being drastically reduced in population and limited to survival in a small geographical area - within the next 100 or so years, will usually result first in blank looks and then all of the 'but we'll be able to do x, y, z', and you shouldn't be so negative about it. Well, really, x, y, z should have been done many, many years ago and even doing them now isn't going to make much difference, but hey, keep that head buried *shrug*.

I like to think that my head is far from buried and i take some personal pride in being well researched before I open my mouth and make a statement. I am not a denier, the world is getting warmer, ice caps are melting, ocean levels are rising, and many cute and lovable critters will be joining the dinosaurs as interesting museum displays. Yet to suggest that humanity will come close to extinction is the most outlandish claim that can be presented, it is pure fear mongering of the worst type. Where is the evidence that such claims are based on? Even when looking at the worst projections of change we come very far from disaster. Yes it will be wetter, and there will be more storms (maybe) but us humans are remarkably good at our ability to survive the diversity of climates we already have, why should that change. Why does nobody focus on the benefits a warming climate will bring. Increased rainfall and longer warmer summers will bring increased crop yields the world over. Vast regions in the northern hemisphere currently locked in permafrost will become available for agriculture and settlement. The time on earth that saw the greatest era of life was many times hotter than the worst predictions and saw rain forests at the poles. Warmer climate brings nothing but benefits that far outweigh the cons. We can live in fear, or we can live in hope. Unfortunately hope does not sell as well as fear and it is easy to take all that is pushed by the media as truth. I can but ask, who's head is buried for it is most certainly not mine.

I read a paper last year that indicated that if only 1/4 of the sexual active population got tested every 6 months that within a few years STI would be virtually eliminated. Its crazy that the solution stares us in the face and requires so little effort yet very few do anything under the mistaken belief that they are safe behind little plastic wrappers. I also read the lab safety procedures for handling the most common STIs and they do not involve stripping down to nothing and putting on a condom, but then sex is kind of difficult in lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, boots, and masked. That is just to handle a swab it gets worse if you bring in a host.

This obviously isn't the place to be getting into a debate about climate change and the potential impacts on the human species, but some of your assertions are very simplistic and don't take into account a whole range of relevant factors. One thing I will encourage you to read up on is the release of methane from the Arctic permafrost, and the potential consequences should that release not be slowed / prevented. You can call it fear-mongering, but these are real possibilities, and unfortunately the belief that 'we can adapt to anything' just isn't true. Just one example, remember that we rely heavily on many other species for our survival, so if those species go, it leaves us in dire straits. We are already in the middle of a mass extinction event - something not many people are aware of - in which the rate of species extinction is far greater than anything seen in the past. Unfortunately much of this information never reaches mainstream news and publications, for various reasons, so most people remain ignorant of how serious the issues are.

I am all for good old fashioned sloppy fun, and to save on condoms "if required" can always get a second use by turning them inside out. Yes aware of methane in bogs and permafrost, methane hydrates deposits in the oceans, and agricultural methane. I am also aware that methane is reactive with oxygen, water vapor, and sunlight and forms part of self limiting cycle and that despite large increases of methane into the atmosphere there has been no appreciable increase in atmospheric levels for over a decade. The more you pump in the faster it reacts and breaks down. I will agree to disagree and get back to the more pressing subjects of sex, lust, sensuality, cocks and c**ts.

As I understand it, we need far fewer people on the planet in future, as there will be far less habitable space. The challenge really is to reduce the human population peacefully, rather than attempting to reduce carbon emissions. The carbon story is a big furphy. Climate change is happening regardless of what we do. Our influence on the system is minuscule to a billion year old planet.... But that doesn't mean we should wade knee deep in condom wrappers when we go for a bush walk a thousand years from now. Hugs Gaz

Why not make it a tax reduction if you have regular STD tests?Make testing every three months and you get X amount back from your tax? Why not make it the same for immunizations? The dramatic increase of people with dangerous or deadly reactions to every day things is only increasing. Some have posed the question that we are cleaning and sanitizing ourselves to death. I myself get tested every 3 months due to my lifestyle choices, but alas I do also use protection with new people who have not yet been tested regularly. The usual suspects otherwise known as my play mates also get tested as regularly as me. That said, bring on biodegradable as an alternative. Obbi "Don't think, drink!" - Tony Stark
