we would definitely exit a party where drugs were being used just not worth the risk.While we don't have a problem with what people do in their own homes it is rather selfish to partake in such things at a party such as these, besides if they are doing drugs they aren't having the kind of fun we are into and i don't really think i want to get intimate with someone who is high either.I think that if there are a collective group who enjoy that sort of thing then make that clear from the outset via private messages and host it at a private address then there is no misunderstandings.just my 2 cents worthMrs GC

Went to an event at a swingers club ( NOT lotus) in Syd a while ago (6 months) and there in the hall ,in the change rooms , in the pub area is two guys with large wadds of notes in thier hands echanging $ for small packets with powder and pills ............ It just turnt us off ........... We are asked what we are on often ..... Nothing is the reply ....... (hang on what are they saying about us .... ok its me, not sarah) Another side ...... the amount of times I have seen boys too off thier faces from pills and powders to do thier "job" leaving thier gals to giggled to hide thier embarrassment or just walk away is too regular to count ...... If you need the confidence ... perhaps this game aint for you ! Brae

Yeah...we have encountered people high on E at a club...they didn't tell us they were taking anything...she just starts freaking out...and then so does he!! What is the point? On another occasion some years ago we met up with a couple again both taking Ecstacy...she was a blithering mess & he could not do the deed! Seems all very pointless to me!!!

We have bitten our tongues on this until now but that'll be it. So, `drugs' that are illegal are bad (despite the incas having used the coca leaf for 5,000 yrs), yet a drug that does far more harm, social harm and costs society far more than cocaine or ecstasy ever could (alcohol and tobacco) are OK. I mean, they must be, because politicians have said alcohol and tobacco are alright yet cocaine and ecstasy are so vile, and such a danger to everyone. We have been to many of the scene parties and I would say that easily 2/3 of people there are on. Now, those people can't all be wrong can they. And I'm sure they've considered the difference between doing what they do or sticking to alcohol ? And they don't. Because these people can regulate their consumption, moderate and have a good time. F......g on C or E heightens things, especially for the girls and adds to the whole experience. If it didn't they wouldn't be doing it. Those knocking it have never tried it. As for it being pointless, why isn't alcohol just as pointless. I think there should be a rule everyone drinks water and consumes lentils in the scene. But you carry on in your Officer Barbrady and Mr Mackey conditioned mantras of `drugs are bad cos Rudd and the US DEA say so'. I mean if the polies are saying it's bad, then it must be. The same polies who pass legislation that says that someone who sells coke to bankers, brokers and polies gets 20 yrs jail, whilst someone who rapes a child gets 1 or 2 yrs. Yep, that's justice for you. Still, it keeps oz sweet with the DEA and the police will bust someone every now and then to condition the mugs into believing they're on top of the whole thing.All bar one school of economics says that demand creates supply ... you all think about that

You hit the nail right on the head that's exactly right ! I couldn't have said it better myself ... I'm pretty sure 80% of people in this scene enjoy the benefits of illicit drug use in order to heighten there sexual pleasures of course if you are doing it more then moderation and going over the top thats when things start to look messy but its the same as alcohol some people go overboard with the drink also ...I think fair enough if you are hosting a party urself and u set the ground rules well ok but if its a public event then people should be allowed to do what they want at the end of the day its all about having fun ;-)

You said your party is `classy' and thus imply classy people don't indulge in some of the substances outlined above. Now given there are more than a few rockstars, politicians, artists, musicians and sportspeople who not only occasionally dabble in the stuff but have a bit of a habit your inference that `classy' people wouldn't indulge in it is bullshit in the extreme. What next the `classy' people at your parties are more pleasing on the eye than the supermodels who partake in snorting ??

I have to say though that fucking a drunk is dead boring... same goes from my perspective for anyone who takes sufficient chemicals to render them incoherent..... and kissing a person who tastes like a cigarette butt is also a very ordinary experience. Agree it about what we prefer at clubs ...... each to thier own .... ANNNNND as I am not "free to cast the first stone... " Just from my experience, and there has been a bit now ( Does that make me a hussy ) When your on the gear or the bottle and you think it heightens your experience and your sensation. Well it might ? BUT kids I am here to tell you, everyone of you has been a really DUD ROOT ! Your boring , rarely coherent and on occasions the random vomiting and etc that occurs is really pretty ordinary .......... (Oh yes the vomiting at the club and having to tell the girls there they need to go clean it up is not a high point for anyone else ) Yes yes yes yes its the same pretty much for all the drunks etc as well , agree the whole ashtray mouth thing is something I can not experience again for the next 100 years or so as well ! I do it drug + alcohol free everytime and my sensation is just magic thanks ! PS I love a conspiracy ...... Rudd and the DEA .... yeah they are out to ruin your night ...ROF,FLMAO ...... wasn't always the angel i am today(ahahahahahahahah) and hung with some colourfulidentities in my younger years. made some cash and had some fun as my record will account fer.the Toungies say no one gets hurt and i have to differ. seen PLENTY of lives ruined or at leastimpacted from powder abuse and they are right people, weed will lead you there eventually.i have been sick as a dog for the last 3 months. down under 55kgs and my hairs falling out.aqll dealin with shit i did as a young fella. still may not make it through this.ok, soundin like a whingin churchy but people need to make informed choices not go"Meah, shit'll be alright" cos good chance it won't.and those that deal the shit ARE dealin in other folks misery, trust me.still toke on a doobie at parties and hopefully can have a beer sooonbut been of the hard stuff fer about 8 years.think about it every day man.still smoke tooo. sorry stalkstano smooochies fer youahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaEarlor

I am a fairly tolerant person, and if you want to swallow, snort, inject or smoke a substance that contains god only knows what, made in some back shed somewhere by hardened criminals and you don't mind your money going to Underbelly type characters, then go right ahead....its your life...or death. I would prefer you didn't do it around me i could do without having to see you get out of your tree, or collapse and die! I am pretty sure though that the families of those involved.....will be the victims, as are the nurses and doctors and ambo's and coppers who have to deal with the fall out day in, day out.How long before YOU get a bad pill, or some hot Heroine what are the odds? Dont get me wrong i've triend and taken drugs but only around friends and for dance parties or hardcore trance events but never for a play party. We know alot of people who take E, coke, speed etc at parties, there always seems to be afew couples on something and its sad as they are the ones usually the most out of controll. We wont play with anyone who is under the influence or highy intoxicated. Really if you have to get that f*ucked up to either enjoy yourself or to be able to play then you really really need to take a good hard look at yourself and/or think about doing something else....

Ruined by cocaine and ecstasy. How many people has ecstasy killed. There's been Anna Wood at the Phoenician Club in 1995 and um um um um. Compare that to how many are killed on the roads every week because of alcohol. Or how many families endure violence because of alcohol. Of course that's far more palatable than a few people taking a pill, dancing like morons, hugging everyone and having fantastic sex.And seeing as someone above thinks we should stop treating drug dependent people in hospitals, perhaps we could take this to the next level and stop treating fat people who gorge themselves on maccas. After all they made the lifestyle choice to eat fast food and not exercise. What about people who get hit by cars because they didn't wait for the green man. What about kidney and liver transplants for alcoholics ? Or treating cancers brought about by smoking ? What about saving rock fishermen who are swept into the ocean.There are quite a few people on quite a few high horses. As for lives `ruined' by drugs. Yep you see it every day. All those coke and E junkies breaking into your houses and stealing your TVs. Look at WHO is doing it. Go into any Sydney bar in the CBD on a Friday or Sat night and it is everywhere. Because they are not consuming or addictive drugs (generally). Alcohol and tobacco are far more damaging but government's make money from them to hide their mismanagement.As for the DEA, now the US wouldn't want some rich countries (on the back of the coca leaf should it be traded like any legal commodity) on its doorstep that pose a threat, would they ? Prohibition does not work, it simply increases the cost of supply.And people do it because it's FUN

(yes how small this world can be) You both come from different ends of the spectrum here.....which is fine by me. That's what makes this world so much fun & easy to make good friends with both of you.......your honesty. Well..that simply question went spiraling into some far out zone!! Maybe the meaning of the question was lost? We weren't making personal judgment on people who do drugs( that's a whole other subject LOL) but merely stating that people who partake willy nilly at 'parties' with a mixed selection of people (ie: folk they don't know) are not being considerate because what they are doing may drag other guests unwillingly into a bad situation. If a bunch of friends want to sit around getting high, stoned, wasted or whatever you want to call it & then shag thenselves silly..that's fine. So long as everyone in attendance knows in advance that's the deal. That really isn't too much to ask..is it?

Whether its a cigarette or a joint, people should respect the rules that people have, or even just have some good old common sense and manners. If i was a smoker i would not light up at anyones house these days ithout asking the owners if they minded, or even where would they like me to go? Obviously the person who signs for the room keys etc, will cop the flack if anything happens...Unfortunately in the world today most people only think about themselves, not the consequences of their actions on others....

I no longer partake in any drugs bar alcohol, nicotine and whatever my doc prescribes...BUT....I really don't care if you, as an informed adult, want to do it...but I do like to know what I'm dealing with...should something go awry.But I totally agree with Plats...show respect for the venue...and for your hosts...wherever you go....or deal with the consequences.JMO...BJxxx

A lot of my friends still smoke weed, goodness knows why they still do it. I figure it's some thing you grow out of. In the end it de-motivates you. But if one can put up with that, then each to their own. Amphetamines and sex compliment each other and can "Build Bridges", so to speak. To be had carefully as from what I've seen, they can be very mentally addictive and the pay-back on the body is hard to handle no matter who you are. As for Ice, the chinese call it "White man's ruin" and they are not just pertaining to your teeth being crumbled to stumps. The psycho-episodal consequences of such a drug as ice are well documented. Seems a torment especially to the minds of women and habitual consequences for men. Be careful of this one, there is a severe come-down for the fun. Anything in the opiate/barbituate/hypnotic/heroin arena is sad and potentially life devastating. Seen a few good people go down to things like these, casual users are rare and to overcome them is a life-long struggle. People don't 'Need' drugs (except heroin and such), People 'Desire' them for whatever reasons. Desire can be known as the "Root of all sorrow" (Buddah). So anything taken to excess will affect your happiness. As for taking them at swinger's parties, like all cross-sections of the community, there will be an element of it. Birds of a feather will flock together and hopefully everyone, altered or not, will enjoy their experience. We are all adults with adult choices. Do whatever makes you happy within reason. We all know this, Yes?.

we must say we stand on the halfway line here.....the only thing we do/enjoy as far as illegal subtances go is pot.... now...i grew up with an alcoholic father and can tell u now that it does more harm pot could ever do..the worst state i have ever seen a stoned person was sitting in the corner and laugh...drunks on the other hand.....but it's legal because the goverment can regulate it/tax it....(and we DO agree with 2peircedtounge here..lol). if u know your limits, and how much of what u can handle it should not render u useless and unable to perform..... in an altered state of mind u can experience sensations, feelings that u simply would not have access to in your rational/problem solving state of mind...u enter an other realm if u lke...my hubby and i have incredible sessions stoned, go on for 4-5 hours enjoying the journey and experience hightened sensations we (specially me, F) were never able to otherwise....i, for instance am able to achive orgazms thru penetration ( dozens of them...lol) which i never could straight.... so all of u who say "if u need drugs to have fun u are in trouble".....no u don't need them....we are comletely capable of having great sex straight...but after a few joints it becomes absolutely incredible....u go on for hours and hours and just don't wanna stop... we are a professional couple who live a full life, are healthy, fit....not your so called "drugies"....so all of u out there who condemn ppl that use illegal substances....how many drinks do u have to have to loosen up? that being said we all know that some drugs are much worse than others....pot is a natural plant, ice on the other hand has some nasty shit in it......so of course some are worth it, some maybe not so much...... all this being said though, we do agree that whoever's party it is, sets the rules...and that mutual respect is the key... we for inctance would never dream of lighting up a dubie unless we know for a fact that everyone is comfortable with that......

Earl you gotta protect those most near and dear. There are ways to affect supply lines and syndicates, albeit a dog thing to do. Something half way and wait for her to come out the other side (with huge dental bills on the horizon). Don't think it's killed anyone in particular but the friends of mine who got in deep with the Shaboo are no longer around (in prison or supply died out and they got on with life). One mate went to a monastry in asia to dry out and gather his psyche back into control. That's the worst I've heard. Nothing lasts forever and Curtin House D's are on the prowl 24/7. It's their profession and they've gotten good at following the yatch around. The price was too high for me and I don't mean dollars, The price is your freedom if caught.
