Dressed to Kill!

January 27 2011

What is it about dressing up? I love how people let go of many of their inhibitions when they get all gussied up ... it's as if they're getting into character or something..... and a mask of confidence veils the real person within. Have you noticed that? I mean.. my new avatar for instance.... who looks more confident? Pamela Anderson or Cher? Well... they both are very confident and for good reason... its just that one of the dentist has his face obscured for sensorship reasons... What I'm getting at is... do you take on a different persona when you're dressed to kill and is ti more fun??HUgsStalky

Lol I had to go have a peek to see the bigger picture. But the answer is yes, always brings people out of their shell. I always feel like being a bit of a wild thing when i dress up, and my reason would be, that's it because for one night, for a few hours I just don't have to be me and I'll leave whatever mischief I caused at the door when I leave hehe cos it wasn't me!!!

I think secretly people love dress-up parties and fancy dress events because you do slip into a different persona and usually one that is more confident and out-there than your day-to-day one :)There's nothing more fun than pretending to be someone else for a night :D

"Clothes don't make the woman...but the sure can break the man". Come on ladies (and you too Stalketta) fess up...anything in your closets with the hang tags still on them? And speaking of closets, well....naaaa, won't go near that one-liner! For business, I have to wear a very flash suit and tie every day and the change from shark to teddy bear every day is amazing when the uniform comes off. That said, I love fancy dress parties (and Halloween) and usually pick something fairly sinister and a bit flash...or just throw on the cowboy gear from the days back home. It does make you feel different...and who is going to razz you up when you are packing...or carrying a branding iron? Toooooooo funny....and you need to shave your legs!

I am the same no matter what I am wearing but it seems the subbie boys prefer leather corsets and spike heels with fishnet stockings (see pic).

lol..... . love the fun of fancy dress, being able to put on another persona with a different outfit. I have always wondered why many guys jump at the opportunity to dress up as a girl when its fancy dress time but rarely do the girls dress up as guys..... . hmmmmm .....ponders....Why is it so? Do guys just enjoy the fun & freedom of being a "cock in a frock" for the evening? Or is it just the appeal of wearing lippy? :)

My wife loves dressup parties, and you right there is a change in her, its almost like once the mask is on ...shes not there. but its not just the mask its the lace the boots, she would not be interested in people who didnt make a effort to dressup.you know what is funny she would leave the house looking normal because of the babysitter and change in the car on the way...love it! its like living with batmans sister

Why is it that when men are required to dress as a woman, 98% of them will choose the most hideous dress that is made of polyester and is normally brightly patterned? There are so many really nice clothes they could choose from but invariably end up dressing like a 60's regect?

I know why men like to wear a dress to fancy dress. It's because us women can't help but stick our hands up their dresses to cop a little feel. Or is that just me? xxMeeka

Now dont get your nonexixtant knickers all bunched up. LOL. It was a comment that Focus and I were discussing on a recent trip to Melbourne, we ran into a group of men, obviously bachelor party, and one was all frocked up in a similar fashion. He forgot to shave the legs as well.

...its sort of like the kilt thing as well hmmmmm, fionabee....I think the guys go "over the top" to look daggy funny in their fancy dress dresses because if they look drop dead gorgeous in a stunning little number, their mates may just start to question what else is in their wardrobe and if a "closet" cross dresser has finally been revealed.... ( and ask if they can borrow a sexy little black number for the weekend...hehehe)

I'm not sure I let go of my inhibitions so much when I get dressed up - I'm pretty uninhibited regardless of what I'm wearing *eyeroll* but I think it's safe to say every woman feels good when they have the hair, the makeup, the heels and the sexy lingerie underneath! And I reckon there's probably some truth to your 'mask of confidence' idea. Getting dressed up to the nines is a confidence boost for many women who may not be so confident when they're not all dressed to kill. . I don't think I take on a different persona when I'm all dressed up but as someone who prefers going casual wherever possible, I definitely like to have fun and make the most of all the freakin effort that goes into getting ready!

Been a long time since I've been to a fancy dress party, but I do enjoy it. I went to a back-to-school themed party once, and decided that instead of donning my old uniform, I'd make something up. Ended up buying a skirt from Target that looked vaguely schoolish, threw it together with a white shirt and a tie to match the skirt, topped it off with a pair of grey hose and a long, black wig. Full make-up done in the car, and was very pleased when nobody recognised me until I removed the wig :-)

we actually dread the fancy dress stuff. We find we are much more comfortable in our own clothes, than anything you tell us to wear. But, we have lots of fun clothing (and are both whores for a good clothing store), and very little run of the mill stuff, so maybe we wear more fancy dress than we think ?

I mean... even though I'd prefer to firmly plant it between your cheeks. :p Anyway, it takes a certain kind of style to walk around wearing a dress like mine all hairy legged and still.... pull it off. :) .... Besides... I'm the blonde dammit! hehe.HugsStalky

Cher & Pammy...must have been a good night then! . . I have always loved getting dressed up! But its only recently come into vogue down here :( But sexy is a must! I do not get those people who just buy some stockstandard costume that doesnt do anything for them....I dont mind being an ugly witch as long as my tits are out & my legs are splayed...(or did I mean displayed...typo?) . . Hubby is complete opposite. He dressed up for the first time ever last wknd ( Went in slowly...no cross dressing for him) Was a hard one cos it was a fetish event and we didnt have heaps to spend. Plus ultra conservative man. In the the end I got him one of those gay blabk Net shirts, which he wore with a suit & top hat. But girls OMFG!!!! We have been missing out cos those shirts are HOT HOT HOT!!!! His nipples played peekaboo, just totally made me wet playing with them all night. What a perve fest & so annoyed that straight men cant wear these shirts!! . Best rest assured Ladies I plan to start a revolution!!!! Love those net shirts. *shiver* peekaboo nipples YUM! . A devoted & tireless to her cause Mrs H xx
