Dreams

February 21 2013

Does anyone remember their dreams they have when asleep? I am Fascinated by what dreams can mean n how we can dream the weirdest, scary, romantic or sexy dreams.... Dreams of loved ones alive n dead... Dreams of childhood or dreams that are the same night after night! I have heard that if you cannot remember your dream it is because you were present in someone else's dream...

Last night I dreamt I was watching a plane that suddenly crashed, without warning. It just missed a village and only hit an empty building, but I still woke up less then thrilled. Explanation anyone? Should Mr Tryst be worried? ;-)   x Ms Shout

Then try go back to sleep to the same one, which usually fails most the time. Than there are those you remember for about 5 mins and forget. I am pretty sure there are dream books you can get to help decipher dreams,They say to keep a dream journal and upon waking quickly write what your dream was before it vanishes. Perhaps Amazon.com or be a Caveman and go to a book shop.- Posted from rhpmobile

The images, sounds and things we do during REM sleep have always fascinated people. REM sleep is as active as consciousness (wakeful state) in terms of brain activity. Some theories out there posit that dreams are the brain's way of rehearsing situations, organising thoughts etc.. That's where the idea of sleeping on it comes into play. Quite often whilst working on a difficult or a creative task, I go to sleep that night and wake the next morning and know exactly what I need to do to solve the task. People learning a new skill can become proficient more quickly if they dream about doing the skill. The storyline that dreams follow are thought to be created by our conscious mind upon waking in order to make sense of the remembered dream-state. You dream every night as a natural part of sleep, no you don't get transported to someone else's dream LOL when you don't remember yours. You actually remember very little of your dreams the next day. All the characters you meet in a dream are a reflection of yourself, i.e. your worst enemy may represent the parts of yourself that you don't like. Some people read so much into dreams (look up Jung for some interesting dream interpretive material). I think there is something to dream interpretation but I don't think it's anything mystical or magical. Just the brain sorting itself out at the end of a day.

the last 3 days I have worked with a guy that could be Daniel Craig's twin.Last night I dreamt I was in a 007 Movie, although it wasn't a Movie, it was "real" and I had gotten myself into a tad of bother where I was waiting for Daniel Craig to rescue me....and Murphy's effing Law I woke up before he arrived.

I had a dream that i was in a relationship with my teenage crush who I haven't seen since I was 15. Quite bizarre as her lifestyle and religion is so far removed from what I want in life... But in my dream I gave that all up to be with her. Woke up thinking to myself wtf. I actually have a recurring dream that I have dreamt for as long as I can remember where I could fly. I have it nearly every week and always wake up feeling great afterwards.

But last night I had the most vivid realistic dream and woke up crying hysterically. It was horrible and I don't wanna experience it again! - Posted from rhpmobile

Sometimes I don't remember them but there is one particular recurring dream lately that I can't possibly forget. I started having and remembering this dream within a week of having given up drinking. It relates to a very violent and life changing event that occurred in 2009. It feels so damn real and I wake up thinking I'm in a hospital again. It takes a few minutes to figure out that it was a dream. I kinda know what it means but there is nothing I can do about it.

I dream vivdily and often recall all the strangest details...sometimes they leave me wondering. Mostly they are of things that were discussed or spoken of in that day and the dream is an extension to that thought.I can still remember dreams from my childhood that I knew were fantasy but can recall them clearly. I dont believe in dream interpretation because I dont believe if we dream of snakes its liars or sex.I have had dreams I would have rather not had with no reason or explanation and have wondered to what purpose. I have had dreams that have beome a reality but wish they hadnt and they will haunt me forever. When my daughter was young she said to me mum I often have dreams that come true....I told her I know and it was alright.

When I do this..I find that the dream no longer has power over me and I soon get over it and fall back into a peaceful sleep again! xFunlovingx

The dreams we remember are only the last few minutes as we transition from deep sleep to waking. I suffer greatly from sleep apnoea and never sleep very deeply. I often recall hours of tedious, repetitive dreams.

I sometimes have very violent, bloody dreams and I have no idea what that's about. I don't watch an excessive amount of violent tv or movies. Some of these dreams have been really distressing, i.e. to the point where they wake me up and I feel really shaken, and I'm pretty sure I've been moaning etc. in my sleep (I sleep alone so can't confirm that). I also find it really strange how occasionally I will suddenly remember, completely out of the blue, a dream I had months or even years ago. I don't know what triggers it, and I'll forget about it again very quickly. The human brain is fascinating.

I remember 98% of my dreams and I wish I did not remember at least 70% of them, they say some dreams are from a past life or even something to come.......One dream I wish I could forget, only happen about 5 years back, when I got shoot in the head (during the dream) to this day I can still feel the bullet hitting my head and still hear the bones shading and at night still feel the pain, I always say that I was in someone else's body at the time, as the feeling was to real and I could not get a good night sleep for weeks......... (maybe I was in the mafia in a prevues life who knows)What are dreams??? When you find out for fuck sake tell me then maybe I can put some to rest.....50zcool: recurring dreams are a pain in the arse to me as I still have dream that I had when I was very young child, just wish I was like my wife she does not remember her dreams at all..........GT (love dreaming about being a female)But I do have some very nice dreams too......

I give a lot of reflection on my dreams. There is a particular one that had hanted me all my life that I started to believe it was a reality I could not rember. I understand that one now that I dont have it any more. My best dreams are flying ones. Always have had them and they have evolved from a simple falling of heights, cautiously flapping my arms and avoiding obstacles and now quite effortlessly leaving this planet to explore. Mix this in with the wet dreams I have (yes I have wet dreams). Its amazing what the mind can say in those wee hours of the morning. There is a blurr between the conscious and sub concious that is a great place to be   Fruit Loop Looking forward to tonights dreams :P

I completely understand what you mean by "feeling the pain" of a violent dream once you wake up. My recurring dream above is rather violent and it feels real, I know this because I've endured such a violent act before. I wake up clutching my ribs in an attempt to "stop the bleeding" the mind is a phenomenal thing.

One of those no smoking drugs (Zyban ?) gave me the most abhorrent graphic and violent dreams ever, usually involving my children.I would wake in total panic, sweating trembling and totally freaked. Never again.

I have weird weird dreams! They are all in 3d, colour and I can hear and see what the people are saying. And I always remember them the next day. I do find the more stressed or depressed I am the weirder they become. Some of them have been very scary and I have to wake up and check the bed for lizards etc (that was many years ago though and was definately stress related). Others are just plain bizarre!   Pusscat xx

i sometimes drink a herbal tea of damiana, passionflower, mugwort and skullcap to enhance my dreams, (Google "lucid dreaming" if interested). And it gives great recall the next day plus on occasion, I have the ability to influence my dreams but not control them. They are so lifelike I often wake up to my own voice when I speak in them or conscious thought interupts. Most are pleasant though a few have been so bad I've woken in tears or mortal fear. I keep a dream journal (I'm an aspiring writer/lyricist) to use in my stories songs and to delve a little into my psyche.
