Do you age gracefully or get work done??

November 20 2016

Age yes is a number - many will of us would have said before 'I don't act my age' or ' I look younger or older to what I actually am' or ' have you seen such an such lately they look so old or they look fantastic' Now that I've reached my middle 40's and 50 is creeping up way too quickly the thoughts of Botox, liposuction, eye lifts, boob implants, cosmetic surgery and other vain things go through my mind! Let's be honest here - a lot of ppl do things everyday to keep younger - we exercise, watch what we eat, flirt with ppl younger or older then ourselves, look into surgery to make us look better, have facials, get spray tanned, get waxed, wear makeup 💄 . Some men take viagra or alternate drugs as they are not as playful as they once were. I'm curious to know who is cautious of getting older and have you or would you prolong age if you could? - Posted from rhpmobile

Cheekyarses, I am in my late 30s and 40s is flying in soon! I have also been severely lacking of sleep (#1 health killer according to the health experts) in the past two years due to fulfilling my duty of care for my ill parent. However, I am not bothered by aging at all as my age brought me wisdom and knowledge because of all the battles that I have fought in life, so far. Besides, being Asian and the fact that I don't wear makeup at all (not even the foundation) on daily basis for 37 years, my aging looks have been delayed by a few years. Therefore, I am happy with my looks and I will not turn to cosmetic surgery for prolonging my age in this life :) From experience, I find that having the right mindset and mentality towards life and things in general also help with preventing aging rapidly. So for me, I am happy for what my age brings me, enjoying being 37, which makes me happier and that helps to slowing down my aging process 😊 - Posted from rhpmobile

I dont exercise as Im running around for 8 hours a day at work. It keeps me fit. I have a healthy sex life....its great for well being and good skin. I cant afford salon treatments and use cheap coconut oil as a moisturier. I cut and colour my own hair and do my own nails. I treat myself to a bikini wax when I can. I find that having a good social life with great friends keeps you feeling youthful. Ill never get " old". Life is far too interesting to slow down. Oh and yes, I wear make up. Not all the time but its nice to accentuate what you have and feel that little bit glamorous sometimes :)

Years of smoking, fast good, insomnia and zero skin care regime have taken its toll. Added to that has been caring for two sick parents for pretty much the last two decades, multiple health issues of my own, and two children with multiple medical issues. I'm extremely limited with what I can do exercise wise due to back surgery that didn't go quite as planned, and I suffer with fibromyalgia. However a few weeks ago I bought some cleanser and moisturiser etc and have started using them this week finally. I'm lucky that most people don't believe my age and think I'm much younger (it's probably my chubby face) 😉 Food wise there are big changes happening along with overall wellbeing. I can't take back the past but I can embrace the future. As far as cosmetic things go, I wear makeup sometimes, get my hair done every now and then and I've had one spray tan (but might get one for my trip to Sydney this week). I haven't ruled out having anything done - maybe some Botox would be nice. But personally I would go through any major surgeries for cosmetic reasons, except for a tummy tuck and that would be for comfort rather than looks. If you had of asked me 5 years ago I would have been keen for nipping and tucking and fillers. But mindset is the most important thing to me now. Doing silly things, having and laugh and enjoying life are the ways I hope to age gracefully. I'd much rather spend the time and money on acceptance of myself and being proud of sacrificing my younger years for those I love dearly. And concentrating on making changes to how I feel and function more so than what I look like. I don't judge those that choose to go under the knife. Each person has a right to do whatever they want with their bodies. I'm one of those people though that would never be happy no matter what procedures I had done without working on total acceptance of who I am first. And I think that once I've done that my beauty will shine from within regardless of sagging and wrinkles.

get my breasts done. I would have done it this year except a job change delayed that.I'm doing it for myself though, not for someone, or for appeal to others. Having lost a lotof weight a few years ago, my boobs dropped 3 cup sizes, and are not so "full" and attractive anymore! There are always going to be other aspects of my body I'm not happy with...but i'm not concerned with changing them.

Utterly disgraceful . I am in my sixties and have had no work done,I am who I am.Of course I could aspire to look like Helen Mirren or Susan Sarandon ,but I don't . I aspire to be healthy, with that comes some physical rewards too.The right diet and exercise seem to be key. Unnecessary surgeries are not for me. But it's an individual choice and if it makes you happy then who am I to judge.Q

I caught up with some former work colleagues. (I worked with them between 1999 and 2002). The first thing anyone said was that I appear just the same as I did then. Fortunate genetics I guess. I am the same weight now as I was at 18 years of age. I have been about ten kilos heavier, but was engaged in a serious training regime at the gym. I don't really enjoy going to the gym, and have not done so in a long time now. When I have something physical I need to do, I put a bit of oomph into it. I do engage in a bit of isometric exercise and stretching (aka Yoga I 'spose), and I usually walk 4-5km each day, each what I want when I'm hungry, and don't eat when I don't feel like it. I gauge my weight and how much exercise I think I should do by how my waist fits my pants. I've had one of my leather belts for nearly thirty years, and have been one notch tighter or one notch looser in all that time. Age is catching up with me though. I damaged a couple of discs in my back a while ago, and I was prescribed reading glasses just a couple of months ago...

Get a breast reduction when I can afford to. The scarring to be honest is the only reason I haven't taken that step yet. I will do it for me- not because I'm trying to stay young for longer....but so that I can be active all day without the rotten back pain.Mrs LAL

I’m not making a statement. Never used any make up and had no issues with my looks, but thought by my 40th birthday I would achieve in life sooo much more. Then I suddenly realised, "I'm there!" I started telling myself this: "Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it. Never tell yourself you missed your chance. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, and designed her first dress at age 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career and landed his first movie role at age 42. Kathryn Bigelow won the Academy Award for Best Director at age 57. Kant wrote his major work when he was 57 !" I realised there is always something you don't have. But most importantly, you aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 31. Now I'm actually happy that is not the case. It's not that I am not ambitious any more, but it's different. Just to enjoy what I am doing and to strive for excellence is enough to make me satisfied and happy. (Ms)

Whether it's gracefully or like a collapsing tonne of bricks depends on the day I'm having at the time. I don't spend a great deal of time in the bathroom with home facials and anti ageing cream and I'm not the sort to be seen around the house at any time of the day with a clay mask heavily smeared over my face. However, I am guilty of seeing the odd beauty product and the girly gene kicks in and whispers to me "oooooohhhh you really need this" so I buy it and the jar or tube ends up gathering dust as it sits on my bathroom vanity. I have the olive Italian skin that comes with being Sicilian so I really don't need a lot of skin care products, however, I might be different if I was on the opposite end of the scale. I wear make up but that's more to put in an effort to look my best at work or when I go out and appear professional at work. I'm guilty of not wearing makeup on weekends if all I'm doing is staying home, going to visit a friend for coffee or catch up or just dashing to the supermarket. I go to the gym as I'm trying to get my weight down. Flirt with younger guys? No......I'm not a cougar and have an age scope I prefer to stick to where I'm getting quite strict at sticking to it lately due to some non desireable experiences recently. I try to dress appropriately for my age, however, I don't mind showing off a little cleavage as I feel it takes the focus off the curves I wish I didn't have. Having said that, I guess I do tend to act well below my age and out of my gender when it comes to anything with wheels and an engine (preferable that of a V8 or a nice Harley).

that's My preference. really not a fan of the circle of Life and "what nature intended". All for good science to slow down as much as possible, stop and even turn back aging all together. we have far too much potential to let nature get in the way. - Posted from rhpmobile

My apron, first child emergency ceasar....weight gain, second child, more weight gain, hysterectomy then a lot of weight loss. At 52kg it still hung there.....I did it for me, for my own pleasure, for my own happiness Inner and outer not that I ever felt unsexy it was simply an opportunity and I DID IT!! Yes I'm very happy I did. The rest of me is aging disgracefully, let's face it; I may have paid ALOT for my torso but the rest of me is still surviving just fine through sheer neglect 😎. If I could do something to reverse the effects of aging and recommend it to others it's "DRINK MORE WATER!" , exfoliate twice weekly (it gets the blood pumping to the surface, good for your skin and moisturise everyday. The rest of it well....some age better than others but I still reckon your age is all in your attitude. 👍🏽 Indy OS PS yes of course I'd have more work done if I could BUT I'm ok without it 😎

My perceptions of aging are changing as I age (fancy that). So many people get caught up on losing the body of their youth when they could just love who they are and get on with it! I'm finding "aging beauty" far more attractive than youth these days, and when it comes packaged with with life experience and mature sexuality it can be a pretty amazing combination. The youthful mind remains whilst the body ages around it. I'm pretty happy with the natural me

Spack filler is my choice of weapon, put that on with a trowel and then sand off a bit. What ever a woman decides to do with her body good on her. A very large elastic band helps as well, you just gather up all that loose skin and make a kind of skin pony tail. But if that sucker breaks while your bouncing around on top, the guy might open his eyes to see Fred Basset hound going hell for leather and he might be scared for life. Women are judged so hard on their looks, and are their own worst enemies when it comes to this. Got to dash, just found some no more gaps. the woman in the tryst.

It's not often I get to lay claim to the word... but let's run with it Cheekys. I have had the blessing of aging fairly gracefully... I really do wonder why life hasn't shown it's mark more considering health issues and stresses of all sorts over time. Time has been more than kind to my hair though which still only has traces of greying through its length though I do wonder how I'd go if I were to cut it short now. Yeah, so let's not do that. ;-) Here we come to a screeching halt... I have had what someone might describe as cosmetic surgery but with a body that has a literal intolerance to trauma... and no actual lasting effects from that procedure... Never again. :-P Working with simple things like magnesium and recently mint in my drinks of water is about my limit, lol. I still have an active sex urge. :-D So, yes I would like to prolong some youth like tendencies to my body as well as my soul but I prefer to try to use more natural remedies that seem to work better with my system. Good to see you guys posting again, Peachy

I think I've aged reasonably well, but would I get work done, hell yes I would!!! Cosmeticly - if I had the money, I'd get my face done, my jowls, liposuction done on my belly, thighs and ass and my boobs lifted. I don't think there's anything wrong with looking after yourself, making yourself feel better as you age. I've always looked after my skin and my mind, but god I've mistreated my body over the years. In saying that, I started making positive changes to my life about 4 months ago (gave up smoking, changed my eating plans) then 6 weeks ago I had a huge health scare so I've had to rethink everything again. I will definitely never smoke again, tho I do crave them everyday, eating plan has changed yet again and now I've started to excerise, but there's only so much I can do before cosmetic stuff would come in handy. 💋

Pork joyed! Proscuitto pleased mostly. My boobs are getting a little droopy though. I like most how my brain works better than ever. Learning to think and see and see myself and what's coming with more insight and clear vision. That's what's bacon best about getting older. Also I think because I've never done drugs, was competitive and extremely fit as an amateur athlete for years, eat everything with gusto and mostly cook it all myself from raw ingredients, no car so I walk everywhere. Or it could just be all that wonderful sex I have. If only someone else would join in for a change . I have noticed, however, hair in places there never was any before. Not so much hairs, just a single hair popping up just wherever with no logic, order or sense of hair community. Anyway, I can't afford "procedures". Maybe a bra.

If there's something you don't like , don't make excuses. Get it fixed ? I'm a great believer that people who correct things that bothers them end up much happier with themself than not. My daughter had surgery to correct her abdomen after some surgery went horribly wrong. Too tragic to explain what , but when she mentioned getting plastic surgery I got behind her urging her to pursue the surgery she needed , she did , and never looked back. You really don't need to put up with anything if you don't want too. I was blessed with the same genes as my mum . She always looked much younger than her years and was often taken for up to 15 years younger than what she was. But I think if there was something I wasn't happy with that some simple surgery could fix. It wouldn't be out of the question just because of what other people might think. When it's my time to go , I want to go out skidding to a halt..

...I ended my marriage of 14 years at age 44...that was a bit over 11 years ago (yep, I'm 55 going on 56)...since then I've bedded a few women; you do the math....11 X an average of one per month across droughts and floods...and I've managed a half dozen 3somes (2women plus me)...so...graceful or disgraceful? I have NFI.
