  My recommendation would be Between Friends Wine Bar or Pineapple Bar to ease into it very gently. Stay away from Shed16 as a newbie… that shock factor needs a bit of easing into. There is a lot in Melbourne, but seeing as you’re just starting out BF or PB are the more ‘known’ ones for newbies and run really well. Nocturnal Animals also hold a meet & greet once a month at Polly Bar where you can go and meet like minded people. Worth checking them out as that night is really casual, non-play, just chatting to others. They book the whole venue out so we are all there for the same thing - connecting with others. Good luck.
