Cross the line!

December 04 2010

Well most of us on this site just love crossing the lines, pushing the boundries just that little bit further. Tell me guys and girls, When does it change from fantasy to fetish? When does fetish change to pervertion? Forget the dictionary version...I can find that myself. What do YOU think?

I coould use the old adage - A fantasy is having your ass tickled with a feather and Fetish is using the whole chicken! Fantasy is what gets you hot when you talk or dream about something Fetish is carrying out the action. So if your Fantasy is having a gang bang and you are the recipient changes when you get home that night and your partner has 5 guys lined up to pleasure your pussy and you want to do it again and again,; Gang Bang has then become your fetish.

I think perhaps the premise for this question is too limiting...and may be masqued in shades of grey. I have read in a profile somewhere here that "boundaries are only limited by creativity, imagination and mutual agreement"...I will start with that as the premise. | A fantasy can be something that you would like to do...or have done, yet would want to do again in another place or with another person. Personally, I have an ongoing "office fantasy" yet change the location from my office in Melbourne to Sydney, change the person and surrounds...it becomes new again and yet to be explored. Role play perhaps, if she happened to show up after hours wearing sunglasses, stilettos, stocking, a garter belt, long trench coat...and little else. I would be equally happy with a similar fantasy during business hours is she showed up wearing a classic light summer skirt and revealing top. I would hardly call that a "fetish" by any standard...would you? | How then would you define something for the more eclectic tastes...say bondage, as soft or hard? Let's think...soft perhaps would be fine Japanese silk ropes but would it then be come hard if the knots were tied to cleverly tighten or difficult to untie? Let's avoid the cold hard steel of handcuffs, and please...don't loose the key. Again, is that a "fetish" or just something enjoyable when shared by consenting adults...you tell me. | Intrigues of the mind entering into the passion of the moment...delightufl and equally difficult to define, particularly if shared in mutual agreement and enjoyed by both. | A fetish or a perversion? Yes, I would have my own definition of either or both...very simply these would be outside of the scope of mutual agreement. It does not mean that you or I may not suggest them...but only crosses the line if one or both don't agree, and there is another far less gracious name for that in my humble opinion. | I am happy to make any assumptions about the very human expressions of our own sensuality and sexuality based on my own premise of creativity, imagination and of course... | ...mutual agreement.

I only see in shades of grey, never in black or white. Although some shades are darker than others and therefore the question is less limiting as if couched in terms of black and white. I agree that fantasies can be lived and remain fantasies as in your lady visiting the office. What was the office address again? A fetish to me is something a little outside the norms of society in general. Such as BDSM. It is mutually enjoyable by those involved. Pervertion is another matter entirely. This, in my opnion, crosses the line of all decency and is illegal anyway. Stuff involving children, animals or family. There are notable exceptions and here comes the shades of grey. Tying someone up and holding them captive while committing sexual acts upon them is illegal IF done without permission. BUT done right, is a fetish and fantasy of many.

I see fantasy and fetish as two reasonably separate things. For me, fantasy is more about something that is 'dreamed' or thought of, or if achieved, a one-off. A fetish is something that can be acted upon, be it physical or visual, regularly. It is also something that is close to being required to achieve sexual excitement. As to the 2nd progression, one person's perversion is another's run-of-the-mill activity.

Quoting 'fionabee' A fetish to me is something a little outside the norms of society in general. Such as BDSM. It is mutually enjoyable by those involved. Pervertion is another matter entirely. Tying someone up and holding them captive while committing sexual acts upon them is illegal IF done without permission. BUT done right, is a fetish and fantasy of many. Still a premise on which I would not bind myself nor care to reside as a tenant in common...as it were. Dictates conscribed by the "norms of society" are rather vacuous...| How outside the norms of society for anyone, and particularly a woman...to be bound by duty, fear or for the sake of the children to a relationship that she no longer desires. Pass me the silk ropes any day! | Is gambling away all the money that you should have put on the family home mortgage a fetish? I prefer to play games I can win...or at least happily settle for a tie. | And a perversion...find it in the bottom of a bottle (or corner of the box) of cheap red wine every night and become abusive. Just don't use up all my ice cubes, please...they are fun! | Drug use and abuse...don't even ask. If you need that to be slick, hip and cool...I need a blindfold. | I am happy to be what I consider quite abnormally normal and now I have to get back to the office yet again. It is, by the way, located on the outer suburbs of... | ...the norms of society!

Being bound to a relationship for fear or duty cannot be counted in sexual connotations and may be the daily grind of many. However, cannot be considered a fantasy nor a fetish as can the silken ties, which to some may bind just as tightly as the duties. Gambling is an addiction and an illness as is a pervertion, but also has no sexual connotations so must also be discarded for reasons of this topic. Pervertions can only be found in the corners of our minds, usually attached to the bottom of the barrel, not the bottle or cask. I agree to leave the ice it has much more interesting uses and I like my alcohol as I like my men....straight! No I wont ask about drug use and abuse just turn a blind eye. Yes the "norms of society" is rather vacuous as a term of reference but will need to suffice as none other is available. You my friend of the night, have no need to become a tenant in common. You may chose to have sole occupancy of your office which if located in the outer suburbs must be just around the corner from my own private tenancy.
