What exactly bugs you? The fact that she has done so much in her life that she has many stories to share? Maybe she doesn't feel like she is hijacking...maybe she likes talking to you and others about her life...Maybe she is lonely and the only company she has is at work. You know they do say that when you meet a person and there is something about them that you don't like...it is usually because you have that trait in yourself that you don't like! Do you believe that women should be seen but not heard? Food for thought xFunlovingx

I was on a site similar adult site like RHP a very long time ago and i used to go to the social drinks nights and OMG. The guys are really bad. I assume RHP drinks nights are very similar too although i never been to RHP drinks night yet. Whenever i talk One on One with a Guy I am remotely interested in. I always find about 5 guys who I am not interested in all end up butting in and hijack the conversation and not giving me and the guy i like any space. Then those same guys would follow me around everywhere during the drinks nights and basically butt in and hijack in into every conversation i have with everyone specially if they see it was with another guy. lol They think ohhh i will get her attention and impress her this way but it was really annoying. The guys that did that ended up in my not to meet again list. lol

I hope that you are refering to My pals and I. They will be here before me or sooner than later. Something like this is honey to us. I don't aim to hijack any thread and talk about me only. Hey I will even interupt myself. Lol. Even in the throws of passion. So chill it is all harmless fun. Fab RFB5.

Know what you mean Jules and it is bloody poor form, especially when you are having a private conversation. These same people are often the laziest in the team and see it as just another way to skive off work and generally waste time and spread gossip! I usually say "where talking about you, not to you" or "don't you have something to do!" what i really want to say is FUCK OFF YOU LAZY OXYGEN THIEF! but mostly i am to polite. But in a social situation i don't care who joins in the more the merrier! But i am not real fond of the mine is bigger/faster/shinier than yours type conversations......probably cause i never manage to outdo anyone....i swear everyone i talk to is better in every department than me....except for humility perhaps.....lolCheers Nev

but i really do just say how it is...I have said to my dim and witless boss, whose nickname btw is ol' windy on account that he never shuts up and interferes in everything....well, i have said to him, "Would you do me a favour"..."Duh, what?", he would say and i just said "fuck off!"...yes, i am still employed and yes, he is still my boss and no, he didn't...sigh....So I'm sorry if i disappoint ya Jules, but just turn to them and say, "Excuse me...fuck off!"....and yes, it does work...except with ol' windy...maybe if i showed him a pencil and asked him to bend over the nearest chair.............heheJose....

I have unfortunately worked with exactly the type of person the OP described on more than one occasion. They always have something more outlandish to say, retell some deed that is more improbable that the one being discussed. Just remember if they are pissing you off, it is a fair bet they are pissing everyone off. So do what we did. We set them up. Quite simple really, just get together with one or two people and with a bit of planning it works a treat. Start a conversation about something already pretty outrageous and sure enough, Mr or Ms Big Mouth with butt in with a tale to top that. Then get someone else to top them with something more outrageous. The boor can't help but retell yet another tale to top that and soon enough you can look them in the face and call them a bald face liar infront of everyone. That will, 99% of the time, humiliate them enough to shut them up for quite a while.

is well underdone in modern society. It's a skill, a talent and a grace to be able to listen to someone with real attention and interest. If you're planning your response while someone else is talking, you're not really listening. Listening is a true gift to others. We all know how wonderful it feels to really be heard. Those who constantly interrupt, turn topics of conversations to themselves, are overbearing and dominating, are often just wishing someone would really hear them.Just my thoughts :)lilmiss x

Quoting 'Jean_Girard' seriously - enough of this talk about thread hijacking... and more talk about me.. Or, for something slightly more exciting, ME! Seriously though, I'm attempting to study the art of listening further. I talk too much. I agree with lilmissfussy, but am a constant interruptor. But I would still like to believe that my ears are as responsive as my mouth.

just breathe before you butt in, you'll soon discover what you urgently need to say is not so important after all.And if you really want to practice the skill, find someone you feel comfortable with and set up a practice session. First, they talk for one solid minute about themselves. In fact, they might even choose to be silent for some or all of that time. Your job is to just listen to them, or if they are silent, still give them your full presence and attention. Then swap roles. Do this a few times, and then practice it (unofficially) with colleagues, strangers etc. You'll be amazed how liberating the art of listening is :)< gets off her soap box!lilmiss x
