Christmas....the time of year that....

December 28 2014

So....Christmas Day came and I found myself too lazy to drive 27kms on Christmas Eve....not unusual but I reckon the nice cold beer in the fridge just had a slightly louder voice lol 😝 Anyway I finally park the prime mover up into mum and dads driveway in preparation for wheel polishing on Boxing Day and head on around to my brothers after sharing a nice home cooked meal with mum, dad and my uncle. Little brother and his wife were running late so I pitched in with Christmas night party preparations and soon my darling children arrived. All 3 in fact....some may say no surprise, but my eldest is at a rather awkward point in her life that I must admit I struggle to deal with at times.... But... I just couldn't wait to give them their present that I had bought for them(PS4 bundled with singstar and ultimate dance 2015 or something). Their eyes lit up and my eldest leapt up from the couch and put her arms around me and squeezed tightly while saying "I love you dad!!".....awwww...yep I got my ultimate Christmas in those few moments.... Later on at the gift giving ceremony we're in a ritual circle like we're about to sacrifice an animal to appease the Christmas gods or similar, and my eldest received from my parents a makeup kit.... Awesome!!! Until I saw the devilish look on her face as she grinned at me before saying "I need a volunteer dad!!" "Oh dear god" I thought. So of course I said "yeah....alright". So she began painting, giggling and repeating "I'm gonna turn you goth dad!!" The end result ??? Somewhere between Mr Squiggle and the end result of being gang banged by the crayola kit!!! Of course she took photos and then asked "so dad....I'm ready for home when you are!!" That's when it hit...I needed to get fuel...let's just say that after getting said fuel the poor attendant was left clutching his sides in laughter with tears streaming down his face, after my question "it's the monobrow isn't it??" "No..*snicker*..it's the whole picture actually!!!" And that was the end of him for 10 mins... So... I was wondering, what sort of awesome little crazy shit did you and your loved ones end up getting into on Christmas??? - Posted from rhpmobile

Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas...face paint and all. No make up at our chrissy but the proliferation of nephews with man-buns gave me a great giggle. so cooooool.

Gifts like trampolines don't really need to be tested out by the child's father or uncle. Let's just say it got very messy! I've never known how many ways limbs could end up entwined after bouncing around for awhile. It caused much mirth for the onlookers! (Hmm...actually I do know how entwined bodies can become....but in the interests of keeping this forum clean I won't share!)

My xmas was quite tame this year. We go out to my Uncles at night as he has an indoor swimming pool and we gather with whatever extended family can be bothered getting there. In years past, usually my sister had to jump in clothes and all as her kids decide they are going to get in too deep but they can swim now. We lost my other sisters toddler in the massive yard but it turned out he was with my 19yo son checking out the ducks. It was a bit scarey for a bit as there are a few ponds and dams on the property. I had to send my 20yo son to pick up the 11yo's bike that I got him for xmas so I was delighted when his girlfriend sent me a picture of him riding around the shopping centre carpark on it, lol. My 19yo son and his girlfriend made me a goofy xmas card all dressed up in random xmas stuff, it was adorable.

First and foremost, I'm so happy that you got the wish you wanted, awesome. We are in the same awkeard position with our nearly 15 year old girl, make-up is the connection. No-one is spared, even our friends, though now she is quite skilled at applying said make-up. You have a few more years of being a 'model' dad. We played 'cards against humanity'. After purchasing said cards for our daughter we checked it was for 17+ , oops. The game is politically incorrect and very funny. We told her we wanted to use them at our next party and she politely told us she was not going to have drunk people touch her cards. We all played them on the floor in our room, a wonderful, funny night. Mary xx

Quoting 'ag4mg92'We played 'cards against humanity'. First I worked, then went to the house of lovely friends of mine (who I met here!) and had the most amazing food, drink and g-rated fun. Well, g-rated... that game is sick! My sides had not hurt so much in ages.

Quoting 'SirStir'Awesome!!! Until I saw the devilish look on her face as she grinned at me before saying "I need a volunteer dad!!" Yep..... been there. Have a photo looking like a drag queen walking down Kelly St in the middle of Scone to prove it. The things a dad/uncle does to put a smile on their faces!
