I'm going! Staying in a teepee too. This is completely daggy but what I'm really looking forward to is the drive up.Oh and Jarvis. Oh, and Gomez. And Bliss N Eso (I'm loving those boys at the moment). Ohhh and Thievery Corporation. Oh and The Living End of course because they're always festival fun. And Mogwai. And Cloud Control. And Seeker Lover Keeper... ohh and The Hives! Oh and Janes Addiction of course.Err... I really like the Splendour lineup this year. I'm SO looking forward to it. :)Who are you most looking forward to seeing Wooah6?

I am loving the lineup this year, kanye west is gonna be interesting to see. Most looking forward to the hives, modest mouse. Seen the living end and Children Collide heaps of times but probably see them again. I am excited for about half the lineup. How much is the Teepee village costing to stay there? At least you get a hot shower in the village :).

Yay for that!! Also, no dicking around putting a tent up, drive in and there it is. Teepe's are expensive, 1200 for the 3 nights, but they do sleep 6 people.I actually know no Kanye so have no real interest in him. Gomez (who I've seen plenty) are my favourite and Pulp (who you wouldn't know because you're a baby! Are you camping at the festival site or elsewhere?

Would love to hear how you know Kanye, would be a really interesting guy to know and meet.I have heard a bit of pulp they aren't to bad.I am camping at the festival. You really don't get the full experience of Splendour In The Grass if you dont stay there.

I said " know no Kanye" i.e. I don't know any of Kanye West's work! Hee hee hee.I haven't been t a Splendour since 2004 at Byron, I'm thinking it might be a bit of a different festival, still, it's not too big I think 30000. It's was my fav festival so I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry about that, didnt read tht well at all. Wow so getting back into it this year. Good year i believe. I think it is 30000 camping, 50000 all up, but could be wrong.

50 000? Damn. It's not Splendour as I've known it then. Nuts. That was always the nice thing about it, the smallness and intimacy... oh and the awesome vibe of the place.

So, I'm getting a bit excited now the timetable is out. Some clashes but nothing I can't dance my way around. Anyone else heading to Woodford?? :D

The timing isn't great for work and the girl I was going with... well, never mind... I can't believe that my tickets haven't resold yet - Moshtix has the crappiest system I've ever experienced for a festival.I went last year and although it was fun, I far prefer the vibe at Bluesfest. Besides, the extra 3.5 hours of driving was a real killer, especially coming home. There's also nothing to do in the area, whereas at Byron you can always go for a swim to clear the cobwebs, get some brekky and sink a couple of beers before heading back for a nap and getting stuck in again...

I haven't been to Woodford before. I was just going to go by myself (you're never alone at a festival)but a mate decided to come along too, which means Teepee time! Woo!

Last year the teepees were near to the dance music that ran late, so unless you're going at it hard all night, it could be hard to sleep. They may have changed it this year - I haven't looked at the layout...

They may have changed it this year - I haven't looked at the layout... Plenty of time for sleeping when I'm dead. :) I'm going up to dance for 3 days (well, 4 because apparently they've got a couple of DJ's on Thursday night too). Will be nice being close to the stages as the timetabling does suck a bit for me this year.

Yeah, that is the only downside to Woodford - there ain't anything within' cooee! Although, it is one of the most wonderous places I have ever been to (I haven't been to Splendour out there, but have regularly attended Wooford Folk Festival in the past)... Great for losing weight - since it's such a MASSIVE walk to get anywhere... Pack your gumboots and rain gear though PBG, it has poured with rain at just about every festival there since 2005! (MRS)

I can do the three days of dancing to the live music, but I can't do the DJs after the bands finish. One needs only look at me to know that I need all the beauty sleep I can get. Don't forget your vitamins...

Also, I'm doing Dry July this year so no hungover mornings which will be good - booze and festivals don't really go that well together anyway. I'm excited, looking forward to it.The re-sale facility does suck in that you can't switch the names on the ticket over yourself. It does prevent scalping, but who's going to hang out at Woodford to scalp tickets anyway.

(MRS) My best festival buddy is a Pom - she says that it can take 3 hours to get between stages at Glastonbury. As for rain, it's pretty much a given over there, so complaints of distance and weather would amuse her no end. Splendour last year was so warm that I had to take a utility knife to a pair of pants so I'd have shorts for the last day.Did you hear about the faces in the trees on the walk to the amphitheatre at Splendour last year? In the right frame of mind... well, it startled me... :-)

Quoting 'Snowshoe' Did you hear about the faces in the trees on the walk to the amphitheatre at Splendour last year? In the right frame of mind... well, it startled me... :-) LMAO... The last time I was out there, lots of things startled me... Infact, I swore I was in an alternate universe where everything and everyone was made out of rubber... I remember watching a couple of guys cartwheeling, and seeing their arms and legs shoot out about 100ft as they went round and round.... Must thank Happy High Herbs and their NYE special for that experience! (MRS)

I remember watching a couple of guys cartwheeling, and seeing their arms and legs shoot out about 100ft as they went round and round.... Must thank Happy High Herbs and their NYE special for that experience! ... I wasn't imagining it! There were two trees roughly the shape of heads, lit up by projectors. When you got to the critical position, two faces came into perfect focus. They were probably 15 meters tall, and periodically blinked and slowly smiled. The first time I saw them I was in the middle of leaving a message for a friend - she hadn't seen them yet and had no idea what I was babbling about until she went to that stage. One of those festival messages...

You weren't lucky enough to see Fat Freddy's Drop that night by any chance? A favourite of mine in the alternate universe...Maybe one of the guys cartwheeling was aussiepeaches?

I think it only went that way because I commented that the 'NYE special' wasn't strong enough and so they gave me a double. OOPS! (MR) said something about those faces to me yesterday... Surely, I would have seen them! (MRS)

Hey Snowshoe,You can re-issue your tix now! At least that's something, you can get rid of them for cheaper rather than waiting for someone to buy 'em from Moshtix. If I was you, I'd sell that other ticket and still go though :)

At least that's something, you can get rid of them for cheaper rather than waiting for someone to buy 'em from Moshtix. If I was you, I'd sell that other ticket and still go though :) I've put out a few feelers, but anyone I know who wants to go has already organised a ticket. It obviously hasn't sold out - I think the combination of having it in Woodford, the stupid Moshtix ticketing system and the silliness about making you buy a car pass are just turning people off. I hope they get it back to Byron next year...I'm resigning myself to the fact that I may end up going though - I just have to figure out the logistics... :-)

Quoting 'Polar_Bear_Girl' Well, my friend and I have room in our tepee if you need somewhere to crash! All friendly like, not hitting on you :) I'm not sure if you meant me or Suzi Wong, but if me, thanks for that! We should definitely get together for a drink up there... even if we aren't quite our normal selves that weekend. It's funny that we'd meet up 1000 km from home when we live 5 minutes from each other...

I always feel much more 'normal' being trashy at a festival than I do any other time.BTW - if you drive and planning on getting there Thrusday and want a parking pass for campground, let me know. I, for some strange reason, bought 2! No idea what I was thinking there. If SnowShoe doesn't, anyone else who wants one, let me know, it's gratis. Although, if you get three people in your car I'd really appreciate you did sling me the dolalrs. :D

I don't have a car pass and may need one - if I do and you still have it in a couple of days, I'd certainly buy it from you. My friend with the car is in Toowoomba, but I may be looking for a ride up too - if anyone is looking for a driver from Sydney, I'm good with the long stretches. All is still subject to change, but I'm not inclined to see the ticket go to waste, so I'm contingency planning now...

So I'm exiting RHP, my email is [email protected] I have spare car pass for the thursday, email and it's yours. If you need somewhere to crash we have spare mattresses in our tepee. My friend and I will be up from Thursday. I'm really looking forward to it!!! There are stacks of tickets on gumtree as well as ebay, going super cheap too. I'm leaving super early on Thursday morning (like 2am).
