Bigger than Ben Hurr, Larger than Life!

February 07 2010

gotcha! But seriously I am planning a surprise for my partents who have just gone o/s. they are pretty old, but darn good folk. Really, after my divorce they bought a place so that i could rent it off them. Now years later they have taken my eldest child over seas...all at there expense. They have hearts of gold. Today, while they are away I have started doing up there place. Just want them to come home to a better place. Yeah romantic maybe, but its real. Did the front yard this weekend from scratch. I feel saw and exhausted. but, like the shows on tv, want them to feel special when they get back. Did not have had not had the greatest child wood, but they certainly are around and will do their all for me and my kids. Thank god they are still around. We take parents for granted. Im lucky, I have the chance to suprise them. Wish me luck:) Disclaimer: Im more pissed than before.lol.

Hey Jules. Doing your own version of renovation rescue huh. I love your good intentions. A word of warning.... How old are they? People get to an age where familiarity is important because they forget things. Change is confusing and frustrating.... and you'd be surprised at the silly things that are so important to them. Go moving, painting over and throwing out their memory triggers and it is very disruptive. I'd be very cautious about pulling down walls to install that jaccuzzi you're planning. Hugs Stalky

(I'm not making enough money; Why does my daughter talk sooo much; Why is my house such a mess; Why do I feed my daughter junk food etc...).   Seriously... GREAT people... I just need to nod a lot and keep apologising !   xxx Miss Saturn

Hugs Stalky Hey Stalky, exellent advice. Won't go too overboard, just a little something to brighten up the place. I am mindful of dad's treasures...i call it junk, but dare not throw it out. They are in their 70's, so not as mobile as they once use to be - hope the little i do makes them happy. Hugs Jules   Quoting 'stalky'Hey Jules. Doing your own version of renovation rescue huh. We sometimes just dont see it. My parents think im the black sheep, i am way to wild and some how fail to be responsible like my dear bro inlaw. But, i am greatful and perhaps i have given them reason to doubt me....but i am still theirs, heart, soul, and blood. Hugs
