Meeka, 1) Ex never used them - don't think she knew about them. 2) & 3) Personally have never bothered me as far period flows go, but I know some ladies & guys are not particularly fond of sex when flows are heavy. Individual tolerance issues ? Tall

Isn't always easy and a few times I have been tempted to get the kitchen tongs. Let's just say you have to fish around for it particularly if you have had a vigorous pounding. Know wheat I mean ;-) JessicaRabbit, my regular friend looked at me like I was nuts... He said Of course he could feel it. Mind you the times I have mentioned it to him he hasn't said anything so.....

That was meant to say the times I haven't mentioned it to him and he hasn't said anything so.... Was he really aware of it? Amarella, sure it feels different but can a penis detect the difference in texture? Would it be that sensitive?

have not had sex with someone using the Beppy. However a stripper/escort that I use to do some security work and driving for use to use them all the time. Her bucks nights strip show use to involve the use of dildos on herself as well as a large dildo she had placed hanging out of the bucks open zipper (the balls holding it in place) that she proceeded to bounce up and down on. No one was ever the wiser that she was using the sponge including her clients on the escort side of things. Mr Luvsilver

In quick answer to the questions:1) Yes, strangely (or not) with several ladies... and sometimes I could feel it sometimes I couldn't. It all depended on the position and how she was feeling at the time (go hard and deep or slow and gentle, on top or from behind etc etc). The last time I felt it was because she had used one of those sea sponges you can get from the chemist, the kind you trim to fit, and she didn't quite trim it enough (she complained of feeling uncomfortable).2) My preference? It is her body, her menstrual cycle and her emotional state. I prefer whatever she felt comfortable with because if she isn't comfortable then she won't enjoy herself and thus neither will I. Have only had one lady tell me she had one in before getting busy and I didn't feel it that time.3) See answer 2. I've never been squeamish and so never had a problem... unfortunately most ladies I've been with have been more embarrassed with the results (messy sheets/clothing and the shocking "Dolmio grin") and on a few rare occasions have fled to the bathroom and locked themselves away (takes quite a lot of effort to talk them back out so we can discuss like adults).(OK so not such a quick answer)So since the question is related to the thread, here is a small bounce back to the ladies:a) How do you feel about question 2, would you prefer the man to know and would you in all honesty tell him, would his response change your attitude to him?b) Do you, like some of the ladies in my limited experience, get so horny at that time of the month that you wouldn't really care what the man thinks (until after the horndrenalin subsides)?

I'm happy to allow the blood to flow during sex but as for oral I'd like to be told of any devices so I can make my own mind up... It's simply called respect :)) besides if one is good with the hands the need for oral may not be required ?? The old saying goes never just something that bleeds for 4 or 5 days and doesn't die lol

Then why wouldn't you just fuck with the flow?? Seems to be another pointless exercise fishing around inside your body to retrieve the sponge. All I get from this, is that those who use them - each to their own of course - only do it to appease their partners desire/insecurity. - Posted from rhpmobile

Gee, so if men like it we have to go with the flow, if men don't like it we should have the sponge. Well I never realized women don't have a choice in the matter and aren't allowed to have a preference. How silly of me to think that. FFS! 👎 I find not all women are comfortable with a man going down on them while they have their period. So SL of you like having a clown grin good for you... Doesn't mean the woman is going to like it. Seriously I can't believe your comment. I hope you are more sensitive than that if a potential lover mentions it to you.

It's not a device it's a sponge. Also it completely stops anything passing the sponge so going down on a woman shouldn't be any different to any other time I don't think? I have gone to swingers clubs using a sponge.

By the way the sponge is fantastic... You can completely forget you have your period and allows you to go to the nude beach, go have your Brazilian done, play your sport, etc etc. so you know what.... Not everything we do is for men. Think about it.... Would you like having a string hanging out of your arse for 5 days? LOL!

The idea that women only do this to appease men, is absolutely ridiculous. I don't mind having sex when I have my period, but only with someone I know well / a long term partner. So if there's a method that will allow me to have sex with a new / more casual partner during that time, then I'm damn well going to want that option, and I don't care whether the guy says he's ok with it, I'm going to go with what *I* want, thankyou very much. And a bit of 'fishing around' is an extremely minor inconvenience in the scheme of things.

if a woman wants to use a sponge, because that is her choice and her preference, do you want to be told before sex or are you happy to not know about it. My question is not want a man things of period sex or what he prefers in regards to that. That is another question all together.

Toxic shock syndrome is sometimes associated with tampon use (I don't think that many people realise though, that half of all cases are found in non-menstruating people - female and male), and occasionally with contraceptive sponges. I'm trying to find info on whether beppy sponges can also be associated with TSS but not having much luck. It's not actually known for sure why tampons can cause it - whether it's from them being left in place for a long time and breeding bacteria, or if the super-absorbent fibres scratch the surface of the vagina and allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream.

but didn't realise I still could with the merina in place. Doesn't it damage the strings?No-one has ever noticed and no I didn't inform, irregular bleeding patterns make it hard to organise play around periods, so it's an option other than cancelling or having to talk periods with someone I may not know that well. I do however have short fingers and boy can getting it out be a bitch, lucky Hubby isn't the squemish sort!

This is from the website....... 😎 Beppy Comfort Sponges (also called stringless tampons) Beppy Comfort Sponges are specially designed, cordless Sponges. They are invisible and unnoticeable. Moreover, they are safe and hygienic and last longer than normal tampons. Up to 8 hours even. For the good things in life. Like sauna, sports, swimming, going out, making love (without loss of blood!) and all other things you happen to fancy. You are an active person and the last thing you want is to have to hold back during your periods. Beppy is a hygienic, soft, round sponge with a flexibility adapting it to your contours. You really will not notice it. - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'Meeka100' , do you want to be told before sex or are you happy to not know about it. I think it may be wise to let a guy know just in case he actually reaches it and isn't quite sure what it might be. He may be thinking that he has come about something unusual inside your body or even injured you in some way, particularly if he may not have crossed paths with these previously. Tall

I've never heard of these things before, I've heard of things like diva cups but beppys are new to me. Does the name mean anything in particular, or refer to something?Answers to Meeka's OP:1) No, or at least I don't think so. I really doubt it though.2) I'd REALLY like to know, because things can shift and fall out and about during sex. If I saw that inside a vagina and wasn't expecting it I'd be very surprised. If they work well I'd have no problem performing oral on a woman who had one inserted.3) Let it flow, let it flow.

So I'm curious now, I have never heard of these things but a few thoughts crossed my mind, if a guy doesn't notice it, that means it is at least 6 inches or so up there, so even the longest fingers couldn't retrieve that? Secondly I was going to ask if it feels uncomfortable with it up there? But then I thought it would essentially be the same as a tampon, just me being a typical boy am imagining something about half the size of a dish sponge... Minus the scourer of course :P- Posted from rhpmobile

No I have never had sex with a woman who has used one. It would be nice to know...just in case I feel the sponge or we do have some leakage/mess. I have not ever stopped having sex because of a womans period. If she is ok with it then I am ok. Towels to catch the mess and a shower together after is quite nice. A few women I have dated have been very aroused during this time of their cycle, so it would be a shame to waste those horny hormones.

Minus the scourer of course :P- Posted from rhpmobile I haven't tried sponges myself (yet), but from having to fish out condoms that have come off and lodged up there, I can say that there are always ways of getting things out of there. Any object that goes up there should only be able to travel a certain extent, because the cervix (entrance to the uterus) in its normal state is very narrow and prevents most things getting past it. Of course, women's vaginas do vary in depth, so if a woman had a particularly deep vagina I guess it could be more fiddly if something got stuck. And it shouldn't feel uncomfortable...just like tampons you shouldn't be able to feel it at all if it's inserted correctly. Apparently the beppy sponges are a bit bigger than a golf ball, so they're not very big.I just ordered some to try, very interested to see how they go!!

I just noticed your other question and no I will not have sex with a lady that's having her period. Firstly it's messy, and I'm squeamish,Secondly it limits foreplay, and probably not doing myself any favours in this environment but I think my strengths lie in the area rather than penetration.....Jess women are naturally spongy but it is a denser kind of spongy. I also can only speak from my experience, but my ex never had a problem removing them after use, they are easy to clean re usable and as for toxic shock syndrome,of course anything left inserted in the body will cause this, prompt removal and basic hygiene is all that is needed to avoid the problem. And I can't say that I'd care to meet someone that would leave something like that long enough to cause a problem such as that.

Minus the scourer of course :P They are similar to kitchen sponges in the way they feel. Tampons are much denser, and though it's certainly possible to have intercourse wearing a tampon, a beppy is much more comfortable. In my experience they add an inch or so to whomever is fucking me, which is great in most cases.

1 - No 2 - Yes please, I think it only polite and as others have mentioned if something does happen with it there are no surprises. 3 - I love having sex with a menstrating woman, used to do it lots with the ex. As long as she has a shower immediately before sex then I am happy to do the whole thing, oral and all with no sponge or tampon. After all my ex was so horny when she got going with her periods and that got me so much hornier. What do I prefer a woman to use, whatever she wants. I'm with Meeka. It isn't for me it's for her. If she wants a lover to go down on her during her period, love to, if she doesn't, her call. We must all do what is comfortable and desirable to us first as long as it isn't wrong for the partner in which case I guess you just find common ground or say good night. Steve

Question 1.We just "did it" every second weekend. It didn't matter whether she was menstruating. She didn't use sponges, she used tampons. There were times when we were that excited that we forgot about the tampon.Yes, I've "Gone Fishing" , Yes, I've "Chewed String"When you care about someone, When you're hot for her and she's hot for you, When you both want to be together, When you're in love, menstruation is just a word.Question 2.Again no sponge experience. But yes, I'd like to know if my Friend is menstruating. Personally, Doesn't worry me a rat's arse. I'd just like to know so that I can be considerate of her.Question 3.If you're in love with someone and she's in love with you, then if the cycle starts a day early or runs an extra day, whatever position both of you are in, you'll laugh about it and just keep going.

I did all the reading about alternative brands etc and decided to purchase the Beppy anyway. Haven't used one during intercourse, though. If I am still up for it, I tell people if I have my P and let them decide. However I am usually in too much pain and discomfort to want sex when I'm menstruating. I think this is probably the case for a lot of women - not squeamishness.

I've used the beppy with great success. Whether I tell the guy or not really depends on how well I know them. A regular lover has commented that he can feel it, but not in an uncomfortable way. A casual partner I wouldn't bother telling. My lover always knows when I have my periods anyway....apparently I'm a little snappish They can be fun to retrieve......there is a technique that makes it easier, ladies check out the thread in SWB. Sir Lurk.....I choose to use them because I like the freedom they afford, I don't mind period sex......but not everyone is into earning their red wings!

To those that asked about the Mirena IUD and the use of beppy sponges. I can't find any specific info however on the official website it states you may still use tampons but you must take care not to pull the Mirena IUD strings when removing the tampon So I would assume that it's definitely not a good idea to use the beppy sponge when you have the Mirena IUD as damaging the strings or even potentially pulling the IUD out is definitely a possibility. Does anyone know for sure??

I haven't actually convinced anyone to try them yet. :/ Maybe it's a generational thing?I reckon it'd work for the male ego. If he feels it as he's going hell for leather, he could just think it's the cervix. 'Damn, I'm HUGE!'Oh fyi Meeka, put the kitchen tongs away. Try sitting in a warm bath instead and getting it full of water, should be easier to retrieve then. Also, remind me not to come to a BBQ at your place, like, ever again. :P

Mrs we_want_to bought some a year or so ago after reading one of Meeka's posts that mentioned them. We gave them a try a couple of times as an experiment and see what they were like for future swinging reference. The outcome of our very clinical trial was pretty good, although I am not sure that my lovely wife has used them more than once or twice in swinging. Having sex without a condom I could definitely feel the courser texture on the head of my cock, but it was not unpleasant. Had it been with someone I was not so familiar with I doubt I would have noticed the difference, and wearing a condom I am certain I would not have noticed. Have I ever used them with anyone else? Not that I am aware of, but who knows?? Would I like to be told in advance? Given there are no obvious signs and I am not going to notice anyway because we would be using condoms then I would not be concerned either way and so the ladies are entirely welcome to keep their secret if they want to use a Beppy. As for using them with Mrs we_want_to, we simply wouldn't bother because after more than 20 years of having sex together it would take a lot more than a period to put us off if we are in the mood. If it was with someone new then I think the Beppy is a much more comfortable situation all round than just letting the blood flow, but I am not that bothered by the whole thing. However if we are going to just let the blood flow (as you so delicately put it) then I would like to be told so that I am not surprised by the unexpected and I can keep the towels handy just in case. Hope that adds to the perspective.
