Being an adult in Europe

June 10 2023

We have just returned from 3 weeks in Europe where we sampled the “lifestyle” over there. We found it so much better than in Oz. Europeans seem to have very different attitudes and we found them more accepting, more willing to play, more into consent, more willing for connection and play without a focus on penetration, more accepting of nudity and different bodies. We had so much fun (with surprisingly little penetration). Has anyone else had experiences around the world and how do they compare to the Australian experience?

Your post may very well cause a furore in here….. We are of European extraction. Europe is older. It has a much older & more sophisticated history (and culture) than a younger Australia. The people are , in our opinion, quite cultured & sophisticated in so many ways. Including the boudoir. The swingers clubs are much nicer than here in our opinion & experience. Their decor, architecture & ambience. Everything is so sensual and a lot of effort has been put into the venues. But then the venues are older and in historical buildings . Most of ours here in Australia are in warehouses or peoples face brick Legoland houses. A different lifestyle completely. Worlds apart.

Sounds like lots of fun. We're not generally into full swap, therefore most people we encounter here are not interested. If we don't fuck on the first date, what's the point of meeting 🙄 Europe sounds more enlightened to pleasure, without being obsessed with penetration. Might have to blow the dust off our passports :) - Alex.

We would agree that European culture is much more liberal not just sexually but socially as well. We had a great time in Spain where we went to a club had same room soft swap with an English couple and after that a gangbang with sexy local guys it was awesome 😉 we did notice at the club they seemed a notably lack of nudity with more focus on private areas than Oz clubs in our experience. Maybe just that club or the clientele on the night but overall the ambience in the club was much nicer.

(Mr.) I’ve lived most of my life overseas and I’d have to agree with you, as a general observation. I’ve come to believe us Australians are far more conservative than we think we are. Among all the Western countries I’d put us somewhere at the top of the list. And that easy going Ozzie image we like to imagine is all a bit of a myth. Keeping up the pretence however, I think comes at the expense of being as open. We’re not very good at, or receptive to straight, open, honest, blunt conversation. Not until we’ve established quite a rapport with the other party anyway. Rather than listening, understanding, accepting and connecting we tend to try and read between the lines and become more concerned about why someone said something rather than what they said. Us Ozzie’s can be inclined to respond to open, straight honesty with suspicion and sometimes even take insult. Bottom line, I think we’re far more guarded communicators.

I couldn't agree more. Australia has a very immature attitude to nudity let alone swinging. We equate nudity to sex here but in Europe they can differentiate between the 2.
