How anyone can watch cars going around in circles for a day is beyond me (but each to their own). I am more concerned with the rugby quarter finals today!! Go the All Blacks. Pusscat xx (still worried about Dan Carter's groin)

Not into cars racing at all. All that waste of fuel and expensive machinery. Yay (drawing fingers in lazy circles in the air)! Give me the rugby anyday. Go The Silver Fern!!!!!

Apparently if you start playing Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon at exactly the same time Bathurst starts, they are eerily in synch... :)Has anyone else ever done that old urban "myth" with "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wizard of Oz"? Is pretty cool for about 20 minutes but then drops off - so everyone just sits back after that and listens to the music, nice!

Love watching the start and first hour til I get bored watching what seems to be the same thing over and over again. A few peeks through the day, and then the final hour..Thats enough for me.. Mrs JJ just wont watch at all..

Having been behind the wheel of a few race cars myself I can assure you that watching Bathurst and F1 suddenly becomes more than just watching a bunch of cars go around and around. To be driving that fast in a car is exhilarating but driving one that suddenly spins out of control is one hell of an adrenaline rush. It also makes you appreciate the technical skill of the drivers. I prefer the commentary than the music.BTW Rockers, is that Monaro 590 at the wheels or at the flywheel?

Bathurst! Love it love it love it!! One of the great things about living in Perth is the time difference which means the Bathurst telecast finished at 2pm which is just in time to change channels and watch the Japanese F1 which starts nicely at 2pm! What a great day! Mr 2more

Flywheel, but since then its been through a bit more work but unsure of either flywheel or tread output. All permitted now, all totally legal, have to carry a folder full of transport dept documents in case a copper pulls us up (rare). No longer a smooth ride, and stop start traffic is a bitch (heavy clutch... Mrs cant even use it... needs to build up some leg muscles!), but it sounds great, and goes just right :)22l/100km for a daily is a pain though :( We dont race it, just have very spiritted dashes down to get milk, bread, etc :)The other one will be superchargered (roots type), injected, suicide doors (maybe), tube frame suspension, roll cage, four link rear, etc etc, some time next year. 400ci now, going to stroke her out to whatever we can. Hope for 800hp flywheel, but that should be no worries. Our engine guy is estimating it will be making that and more. Gotta build a nice shed for it first, we've run out of space...And then we have a Hyundai...

Good luck trying for that Rockers. And those button clutches (or is it orgainic?) are waaaaaay heavy. Why not join the local Monaro club and take it round a track sometime?

I love Bathurst............ used to love to watch it all day............. now I love to watch the start and finish and the odd glimpse in between......... but always tuned on the day and good to see what happens...... The good ole days of the street muscle cars are gone but I love to hear the roar and feel the power of the V8's........ All Blacks - looking forward to Sunday when they show all how good they really are - Dan Carter or not!!

What a day, what a race. How good are Skaife and Lowndes together?Weather, fauna, fire and some ab-solutely brilliant driving. All over and done with for another year.Surely there must be room for two Bathurst's a year?Just one, maybe two extra races there a year? Surely it won't diminish what is a spectacular racetrack and event. Anything other than the Supercars roaring around there just isn't the same. One week on and suffering withdrawals already. Gold Coast next week is alright, just not the same though. .I appreciate the F1's for their performance but the V8's just get me right in the guts. No need for ear plugs either, just unadulterated aural ecstasy. *Sigh*.CheersRusty
