But I do like a Corwnie or two after mowing the lawn and considering I mow close on an acre of grass without benefit of a ride on mower, I figure I probably deserve one or two. Hmmm when it comes to wine, I like a couple of imported varieties. (Yes I know traitorous of me but hey....life is like that!) Oyster Bay being my favourite. I rarely drink when at home as I may be called upon in an emergency with kids but Focus (like all good children) knows when to put an extra bottle or two in the fridge when Mummy is due in town. Gosh I trained her well!

My lime tree has nearly finished making its very first lime and it has more on the way....This is going to be the summer of gin and tonic... or vodka, lime soda... or Mojitos... or Corona... .(and espresso martinis made late at night by wanky mixologists)My favorite local wineries would be Black Jack for reds and Port Phillip Estate for white or pink. Pizzini is a good all rounder..Why do I suddenly wish it was 5pm and 25 degrees and Friday afternoon?

Yeee-owzer....add Dos Equis to the the list with Corona. Then for those so blessed hit the European Bier Cafe on Little Collins. They offer you an "around the world" (not that kind...pervos) and you can sample the best of the best. The one that kisses your butt goodbye with style is rightfully called "DT" and has little elephants on the frosted glass bottle. | As for the rest....ohhh yeah, a Kaffer lime tree in the back yard, Pimms and cucumber in the stable. Scotch of course but on a hot summer's day laying under a lawn sprinkler with a good GT works a treat. | Here is a laugh and tells you what our folks here do...every single label that just got sold was cheaper to buy in the USA than it is here. | If all else fails...grab a bottle of Jose' Cuervo Gold and a good friend....stomp on the cap and settle in with some lemons and salt. Half the fun is licking the back of each other's hand.

That was only assuming... | Quoting 'Bratzilla' Well, shit, I've been doing it wrong all along... ...that you wanted to hold the shot glass in your hand and of course loosen the ropes so nothing spilled where you... | ...wanted it to from the grinder. Sea salt...always use sea salt. | Steve Miller Band.... "really love your peaches want to shake your tree". Guess you could get lemons and limes to fall into your hand too?

Irish brewed Guiness for me, ice cold and slow pour. I like the occasional cider. This year I might get brave and try pear cider. Not being much of a drinker it might take me a while to get around to it.....

I like a range of beers from Pure Blonde to Stella, depending on my mood and who I'm drinking with. The disappointing thing is, though, that most "imported" beers are actually brewed here in Aus, so although the beer is brewed to a particular spec, the taste is different to what you might expect if you were drinking the same beer in its native country. It's all in the water :)

Guinness is the only thing i'll touch beer wise, failing that a nice Mudslide (the damn wine fridge seems to be full of them!) and i have found the most heavenly Spanish Sherry at our best Tapas Bar here. Found out where they bought it from and had to have some for myself, it smells and tastes like christmas cake...mmmmmm......incredible stuff. Why is it that my wine fridge racks are filled with only 1/2 a dozen bottles of wine? hmmmfff...weird

The sherry is not anything like any other sherry i have ever tasted, as a mater of fact i've never been a sherry fan. Sherry was for nana's drunken triffle :) But THIS is special stuff. Made by Lustau (love the name) Called Pedro Ximenez - San Emilio One of those special treat only things Quoting 'MistressT' Quoting 'goodgrlzsayplz' Guinness is the only thing i'll touch beer wise, failing that a nice Mudslide (the damn wine fridge seems to be full of them!) and i have found the most heavenly Spanish Sherry at our best Tapas Bar here. I work in a liquor establishment and the number of customers that want a beer and come up with the cat-piss is terrible. wouldnt touch beer personally but Bluetongue would probably be at the top of my list. James Squire would not be too far behind. drink of choice is bourbon quite partial to the wild turkey. Quoting 'KD7884'Swedish cider that is starting to make a big mark out here. I dont even like beer. I'm allergic to beer. From now on, I'm just going to drink the nectar of love for recreation... maybe with a dash of ice.. and a dash of lemon. Lemon goes with fish.. right?HugsStalky

Pedro Ximenez = yummy! I'm a big fan of stickies, a muscat or a port with a massive board of cheese. mmmm. Although these are more for winter, Melbourne kindly throws in a few winter days a week right up into January..I've also always loved apple cider. There are some really great ones available now - Monteiths, bulmers etc. I'm not a huge fan of pear cider. it's a teensy bit sweet for me.

Oh yeah irresponsibility, i'd run over nana's cat for a shot of that stuff. Oh ok, no i wouldn't, i LOVE pussiesbut you get my meaning. San Emilio brings class and elegance to sweet. Sweet drinks have always had a bit of a rep for being cheap and nasty (think, blue nun) but Pedro is decedant. xxgoodgrl Quoting 'irresponsibility'Pedro Ximenez = yummy!
