Im with you, i never thought i would say this but........IM ADDICTED ........... i cant stay away i turn this bloody cp on first thing in the morning and it goes all day so i can just ' pop ' into the room and have a quick squiz at what is going on, i gave up smoking but cant give this up what will i do ????? i was thinking more sex may be the go ????

Have only been a member for a few days and am already thinking I should join a support group... mmmm support group with benefits. What makes it harder to give up is that I have seen a few people I think I might like to meet so I guess there is no help cuming from here... sorry. Besides, if it doesn't hurt anyone and makes you happy why give it up??

Hi all, Yep... I'm addicted ! It's the only time I get to express my thoughts. When I'm at work I have no one to talk to (boo hoo...poor me...he he). I either hook up with rhp guys who mostly don't care about my mind and would prefer my mouth to only be doing one thing... , or I go chat to the guy at the local Japanese take away... and he mostly speaks Japanese ! I use the forums as my "smoko break"... do they still exist or have the smokers finally been ostracised once and for all ? I log on in the morning at home and then as soon as I'm at work. On my LONG days at the office... been here 14 hours today... I have it on the entire time. I do tell myself to quit. But then who would listen to me ??? But then again no actually "listens" on rhp. No one REALLY cares... there I go again... on the poor me merry-go-round... AGAIN. Hugs...Ms Saturn... (haven't had dinner yet...10pm... but I'm still bloody typing CRAP on rhp !!) Solution is simple... GET A REAL LIFE ! NOT A PRETEND ONE VIA THE INTERNET.

I too confess to be an addict of the forums. To me, the forums provide an intelligent view of the pethorea of people who make up RHP, their views, their dreams, their ... WHO THE FUCK AM I KIDDING... I love the forums, it is like seeing an accident, you know there will be blood, you know it will be ugly, you know there will be pain but you just can't help looking! Every day some guy will make a statement that will prove he is a fuckwit, some woman will make a wide ranging generalisation about men that will prove she has no idea. To paraphrase Sir Winnie: Never have so few provided so much entertainment to so many through the insertion of foot into mouth.

Ok so I dont contribute that often but first thing in the morning then as soon as I get home from work you are all here. I love reading the posts; cursing at the stupidity and ignorance of some, laughing and crying with others. While I dont think I am addicted (not yet) its a close run thing. Keep a seat warm for me cause it wont be long tile I am there in support with you. BTW I'll bring the chocolate brownies.

It's not so much that I'm addicted...it's a ready distraction from working all the time is what I am addicted to. Interaction with some of our characters here is what attracts me to this forum and keeps me coming back otherwise I'd be doing something else. If the core of those contacts were not here.. then I would not be here. Without people to converse with, the forums are dead boring. Take a look at the British RHP. It's tumble weeds. I really enjoy the forum contributions from my contacts but most noteably Jean and Lippy these last few days.... My contacts are people that I actually want to meet and on that note, for me, participating on RHP forums has never been about fucking my contacts..... If I wanted a fuck there are so many more efficient ways to get one than the process involved here.... This forum is no more to me than a necessary distraction from work. The forum is not necessary.. the distraction is the thing I'm addicted to. I can readily exchange one distraction for another within my various interests.... my needs are met by something that I can switch back to work the moment the phone rings.. or whatever more important issue arises. enjoy the forums alot. but i was truly addicted to the chatroom for a long time... a ... very.... long... time....like, two years at least. Lots of aspects of my life went by the wayside, i was drinking and smoking heaps more, my nights were always late, i dropped out of uni, got nothing much done and was thinking about the chatroom constantly, and made every effort to get back there as soon as possible if I was away from it. My life really did revolve around it. What an awesome, awesome time waster the chatroom is. Mind you, I got heaps out of it too... heeeeaappppssssss :-D Haven't been in there for six months now, but some days I feel this pull to turn on some music, open a bottle of wine, grab the ciggies, crank up the cam and just shoot the shit.. YANNO. It's one of the reasons I am happy to remain a guest on rhp, so I can't access the chatroom. xxT

I must admit that while I'm still finding a voice in cyber land, the forums provide a really good insight into the minds of other RHPer's. Generally now days the profile's I view are from those that are prepared to voice themselves in the forums. I'm finding myself more in the forums than elsewhere on the site. Just need to lose the shy exterior and I'll be fine. Addicted, sort of ..... if not then very close......

Having taken the time to consider my response in the interests of actually having my efforts appear for all thee to see... I am rapt to now include my proper response to this thread which unfortunately is not a positive one... ummm kinda.I have to admit I am addicted to the RHP forums... but only the main forums and the' Perth & WA' forums... heheI'm so addicted:* I try to hook other people into my addiction by posting an index that even better enables RHP's access to our forums. An addition to the forums alongside our current and new posts to round them out in our exploration for understanding of topics that are often not acceptable to discuss in society* I've learned sooo much, but me spelling n grammar've gotten a bit weeell {it were werf eet}* that we came back even after we deleted our profile last Oct {I'm glad}* that we paid up 2 profiles for me to be able to post directly to the forums {oops lol}* I can't stop thinking of points that prove it {sigh}* I posted a Goodbye! thread and then had the gall to not even leave {sorry :-)}* the people on RHP often feel like friends and even family {hugs}* I'm posting on an 'Are you addicted?' thread to prove it {that should be about enough... for now at least ;-)}Hugs... 1) I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my newspaper like I used to, before RHP. 2) I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with one hand typing. 3) I will get dressed before noon. 4) I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of RHP. 5) I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends that are RHP-deprived. 6) I will call someone on the phone who I cannot contact via RHP. 7) I will read a book...if I still remember how. I will listen to those around me and their needs and stop telling them to turn the TV down so I can hear the music on the RHP. 9) I will not be tempted during TV commercials to check for Forum Posts. 10) I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not. 11) I will remember that my bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance my checkbook because I was too busy on the RHP. 12) Last, but not least, I will remember that I must go to bed sometime ... and RHP will always be there tomorrow!

I'd already been thinking a lot lately about the time I put into the forums. My man was very patient while I set up the Forum Topic lists and I've been making that up to him lolol while also enjoying the peace of mind of turning the pc off more often these last few weeks, spending more time relaxing with the man and getting out into the sun. Weaning myself off some seems to be working and frankly, it takes way less time to be a voyeur than a participant don't ya know. The time it takes to think of the many things I want to say, get them in the right order to make sense and still be sadly misunderstood, at least if I fade out now it will be my decision lolololol. it all depends on the definition of addiction, which is essentially - repetitive compulsion to perform an act that eventually diminishes in the enjoyment originally experienced and has no positive use for the individual. regularly surfing rhp or forums i dont think is addiction, but rather stimulation for the mind and hopefully the body!

Most of the friends I've made here have my number/email and know where they can find me. The time spent here could be better utilised being "good for me " instead of others. Are we addicted to the RHP Forums or is it simply that we are in a rut we can't seem to find our way out of? I should be studying, assessing my next move and planning where to from here, there is still so much to do and whilst sitting on the couch rambling with you lot can be fun.......I'm not getting what needs to be done done! My membership is up mid-November and like Lady Tuscan and (conspicuously absent Paintme) I'm going to hang up my suspenders for a while and see how I go in the real world ~ so I guess if those of you I've chatted with haven't got my email/number drop me a message and I might give it to you ~ On Safari, hoping I can do this by myself.
