An Online Dating Ditty

Hello guys and gals Just curious to know what silly things you do when bored and/or frustrated? Here's my recent effort; following some months of insomnia and insanity! I penned this silly little ditty late one night, after numerous glasses of red wine, and out of sheer friggin frustration with the online dating community [not this site of course :-) ]. I come back to it every now and again, because it reminds me of the rampant fickle and insular behavior sometimes found online. I hope it resonates with you too; but in a nice, kind and nostalgic kind of way! If RHP has word limit restrictions, I'm sure this ditty will be split into several parts. Please accept my apologies! *********** Online dating I think, is more than just winks, so please take a peek, if love you do seek. There are men who don't call, and girls who bare all, and some boys chase passion, for girls in high fashion. You want cliche filled profiles? - My goodness how docile, but if you dig karaoke, just wink, kiss or poke me. Show me some cabbage, and I'll give you my baggage, but buyer beware, some wounds don't repair. Just for a while, let's see your great smile, stop hiding your pic, or I'll think it's a trick. So please baby please, stop being a tease, Oh what the heck, just use the spell check. Fast women and slow bikes, and endless mountain hikes, are just some of the things you listed you like. Did you forget to mention, you love Shawshank Redemption, So give me a cuddle, and I'll show you no trouble. So let's take that hike, and then jump on your bike, I'm long past my prime, but I still have some time. And why should we care, just how we got there, For it's time to just share, and we all need a dare. I don't like the pub scene, if you know what I mean, and I'll be really aloof, if you just like doof doof. So ditch all your rage, and if you're lower in age, go search for some other, cause I'm not your mother. I like walks on the beach, with stars out of reach, Show me the moon, and I'll sigh and I'll swoon. So make that next notch, while I go grab the scotch, and stoke up the fire, let's bring back desire. I like rain on a tin roof, and really fresh fruit, let's drink some more wine and have a good time. So I expect a lot more, than just a booty call, don't want your distraction, I need satisfaction. I want your love potion, let's dance in slow motion, may I burst like a bubble, when you give that big cuddle. So my dear groovy, let's go catch a movie, Or a massage you say, is the deal of the day. Please give me some time, to make up my mind, don't chat for a night, and then take off in fright. Don't go bagging your ex, as you trawl for great sex, And I'll ask for no more, if you tell me the score. Life is for living, and caring and giving, Damn this man drought, I yell and I SHOUT. So put on a song, and let's get it on, we'll fly to the moon, and then we can spoon. I have lost out to gravity, such is my depravity, but I'm fully aware, that my mind is still there. I promise I won't bite, unless you ask really nice, and starting today, let's go out and play. When I feel quite alone, I weep and I moan, then you pull up a chair, and pretend that you care. If you're not over the ex, just lie down and take Bex, and if you need me to talk, I promise I won't baulk. Friends first, it's a curse, but what could be worse?, then people who disappear, and photos from yesteryear. With no chemistry on your date, it just doesn't rate, So tell me no lies, when it's time for goodbye.

OZROCKCHICK I LOVE IT! great flow, very entertaining, and not without good wit ;) i'm working with my roomy to put it to music, i'll get back to you on the results. See if we cant make a hit together lol

Thanks everyone Who knew that trawling through the forums would be so much fun ... my new strategy for combatting boredom has evolved, and looks far more promising in the mental activity department than I've seen anywhere else on this site - LOL.Thank you OhSoBi, sexyonesum, and jilted74 for your kind responses. Maybe we could put our collective heads together and create some new ditties for the forum moderators - I'm sure they'd love that! Just imagine, a flirt response that takes the sting out of rejection.Universalnomad, you just rock. If you and your roomy ever come up with something, let me know. its interesting (or will be, although now I've mentioned it maybe not so interesting)... the people who take the time to read your poem, especially the guys... are the type of guys who do actually take the time to read it :) The "trawlers" wont be bothered. Nice work :)
