A man I would like to meet

November 22 2015

The English philosopher Bertrand Russell's "In Praise of Idleness" ,a subject close to my heart ,has just been republished after the efforts of the Australian author, "The Blue Day Book",environmentalist all round polymath Bradley Trevor Grieve..So my question is,who would you like to meet, who has been an inspiration for you ,living or dead, someone who you would love to meet and spend time with,or perhaps that has already happened, did they live up to your expectations or were you disappointed ?Freyaxx

I don't have any particular person I would like to meet, but that doesn't mean I don't wish to learn or aspire to be a better person. You can almost learn something from everyone you meet and get to know and the key is to take what you want away from each person. If I were to want to meet somebody it would be an entrepreneur, someone who owns and runs a multinational company. And by meet I would want to work with or have the person as a mentor for at least six months. I think the leadership skills, innovation and inspiration that some of these types of people (definitely not all of them) could show you would be able to immensely change ones life, if one could embrace those things. These things you could learn aren't all about money or big business, they would apply to almost all relationships - work, friends, partners, family as they are about the general way in which you conduct yourself, your relationships and your affairs.

name drop lol but i always wanted to meet Billy Connolly and Robin Williams, both are not only funny but incredibly smart and layers to them. Having them both sitting at the dinner table would be amazing, imagine the two of them in the same space, as the third person, i doubt i'd get a word in but i wouldn't care - Posted from rhpmobile

Salvador Dali. Id like an insight of that brilliant but crazy imagination. Also Andy Warhol, I love his work, and he is another artistic genius as far as Im concerned. Id love to spend time with them because it would be anything but boring, and they inspire me because when I look at their art it makes me feel happy.

Leonardo da Vinci. Well really, seeing I barely speak Italian I'd just sit in a corner of his studio and watch him.

I've met him, very briefly, at a couple of signings, and chatted with him at one for a few minutes. I was awe struck, and on a high for ages afterwards. He's my big celebrity crush. I love the way he uses words, I am fascinated by his view of childhood and bravery, and his reverence and respect for stories, books and libraries makes me weak at the knees. I'd stalk him anywhere, and he can read me his shopping list. - Posted from rhpmobile

Beer......................, and shake his hand. I can spend a whole afternoon in idleness, drinking cold beer

Jacko and Warwick Capper once. My son was chucking a tantrum, one of only two he ever had, when he realised i kept walking and ignored him, he was smart enough to give it up as a bad joke. Anyhoo, during one of these little spits lol i continued walking then heard a voice 'Come on Mum pick him up'. I looked up (because they're both very tall) and it was Jacko and Warwick Capper. I was rendered speechless, which is unusual for me, just smiled, grabbed my son and carried on. So i don't think i said a single word to them, stupid woman mmm - Posted from rhpmobile

I would like to meet this HK actor who is very famous in the Asian entertainment industry for his successful acting career, as well as his charity contribution. So far, he has donated and established 79 schools in third world countries, is sponsoring countless children from the poor towns around the world and is always being one of the first persons to visit the disaster affected areas. He has even turned down a movie role at one point to pay a visit to one of the earthquake zones in China. His selfless personality and generosity have inspired and motivated me (for many years) to strive harder in life and to give back to the society as much as I can. - Posted from rhpmobile
