We are all so vunerable...irrespective of our gender . And to think this happened less than 500 meters from home...in a busy street, in a busy suburb of Melbourne...yep its scarey and a timely reminder........ my thoughts are with her poor work colleague, who offered to walk her home ..and she refused...god your damned at times no matter what you do or dont do.... To her family, friends, work colleagues, all who knew and loved her...one can only offer condolences and prayers.. I so want to believe in the best of people...but there are days when I just cant.

people around and still she wasn't safe.Yes we need to look out for each other, when we consume alcohol our perceptions are skewed,we take risks that we would't normally take.Be safe. My thoughts are with her husband and family,so sad.

You're not wrong ladies! As Ms VB said, incredibly busy 24/7, well lit, busy street in the North of Melbourne.... you wouldn't have thought.... The news this morning cast yet another dark, gloomy shadow over what is already a God awful day in Melbourne... quite apt in a way Its put the wind up alot of my friends..... we just don't realise how vulnerable we are... whatever age or sex... certainly makes me want to take a huge step back and have a good think.... from everyone and everything.

Evil men don't see themselves as evil. In their own minds, they are able to justify everything they do. What is it that goes through a person's mind that enables him to believe he has a right to do something like this???

But this unfortunate woman was one of the unluckiest people on the planet. You are more likely to be hit by lightning. Probably twice.Unfortunately you are also much more likely to be assaulted or murdered by someone you know. This was one of the very few in recent times when a case like this hasn't turned out to be the husband. It's shit in every way, but please dont be tempted to wrap yourself in a bubble. Women have every right to travel when and where they want at night and thankfully the absolute majority of the time it's safe to do so.Mr C

It is a very sad thing that has happened, and whilst it should be ok for women to walk about without being accosted or murdered the reality is we aren't and we have to be aware of our environment at all times, even guys have to be aware nowadays or they could be caught up in a fight. Brunswick to me has never been a safe place or at least at night(for women alone would be more dangerous), she was unfortunate to come across this animal that had no regard for women or human life, if he had he would not have attacked her. Sadly there are low lifes in this world and at times they rear their ugly heads. Her husband and family must be gob smacked and the last one to see her, would be wondering why he didn't insist on escorting her home, he was trying to respect her space and wishes but unfortunately at a cost, he may never get over the fact he could have and should have insisted.

I am just glad that they found her body. I could not imagine not knowing what happened to a loved one. It would be pure hell. I wish people in today's society would actually come to the aid of people in help more often. We used to do it years ago but now everyone seems to scared. That makes me sad! Pusscat xxx

This happened to a cousin of mine several years ago now, still brings up strong emotions The scumbag that cold bloodily murdered my cousin had only been out of jail a short time - repeat offender, what I would do to be alone with him for only a few minute He sure would pay for raping and murdering my cousin Makes me sick to the stomach Sorry to rain on this parade But it is such a horrible act thst any person can do to another, who is so innocent and unknown to the offender My thoughts are with all her family and friends as I know how hard it is waiting and looking for answers Ladies and he gentlemen alike, be aware, be vigilant, be mindful and be respectful If your stomach tells you something doesn't seem right, please don't be afraid, politely ask if thst someone is ok Safety is so underrated
