Porn is a topic that divides people. Some called it misogynistic and others can't get enough of it. Regardless of your stance on the subject, one thing is for sure, the majority of us are watching it, including women. 

Pornography is defined as; 'the explicit portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual arousal.'

Porn, for both men and women, is a quick road to orgasm. Watching porn is not inherently harmful to men or women. However, there are a few problems. There are people who probably shouldn't watch porn, like people with poor body image or those who have been sexually victimised. In addition, if not properly educated individuals can develop unrealistic expectations about sex, what people like or how you're expected to perform. 

When none of these red-flags are evident, pornography can certainly have benefits. Porn can reboot a couple's sex life. It can be a platform to see a fantasy that turns you on being played out. It can suggest something new or help you understand your partner's fantasy. Porn can teach women more about sex and open the dialogue around sex. Furthermore, seeing so many different body types, boobs and vaginas can helped dispel any negativity women feel about their own bodies.

No matter what you're into, you can most likely find it in porn films. And there's porn for pretty much any taste. The 50 shades type, MILF, the old-school wham-bam hardcore sexually explicit and the tamer and suggestive with more of a story type of porn.

Different types of people get attracted to different types of porn and some moving from one type to another. The porn you're into boils down to the mood you're in.

There's this belief that women are 'suppose' to enjoy porn that is less sexually explicit and more suggestive. Maybe some women like to warm up with a more 'feminised' version and then move on to something more explicit and sexually raw.

But a growing number of women are enjoying 'basic' or 'hardcore' porn. Sure, this kind of porn is not exactly highbrow and definitely inaccurate in its portrayal of your average person's sex life but it's darn arousing for when the mood strikes. We all know fantasy life isn't always politically correct.

So, yeah, let those good feeling hormones take over...

Treat porn like blindfolds or crotchless knickers or role-play, just a bit of extra fun in the bedroom. Porn can help women get in the mood, rev up the engine so to speak since generally, women take longer to get aroused.

In addition, porn can encourage women to get in touch with their sexuality and discuss new ways of improving their sex lives. Having a healthy sex life can help women feel good and more confident about themselves.
