You know, the whole country has been against us and while it’s easy to brush most of it off it does start to suck when you’re constantly getting called filthy.
Thank you so much for this, a little bit of compassion goes such a long way. You’re a beautiful human! ♥️

Its damn tough in Melbourne right now. Just trying to make sense of the stage 4 restriction guidelines has given me a proper headache - or was it second glass of wine? 🤔 Interesting times ahead.

I'm not doing too badly, still in busy work. But as the case is in regional Vic slightly better than the city, it's still either essentially unwise to visit anyone, or not allowed to visit certain others, and no longer allowed to do anything like holiday/roadtrip, or leave the state let alone the country, so just work eat sleep, limbo mode, but that's still much better than some. You could be running out of money.

I do have some positives outside of work and relationships though that are proceeding well this year, perhaps like many that have to find something else to focus their time and attention on - just "country" minus the "touch" this year :p

Thanks Freaky. We are needing some love
Having been lucky to move to an original hotspot, had 2 weeks lockdown, then neatly 4 weeks of the metro lockdown. Add another 6 weeks of stage 4 equals 3 months of lockdown by the end if it resolved by then.
Mental health is fraying amongst us.
The other side seems so far away

Hopefully most of us from the other states have some compassion! It's only mainstream media portraying Vics in a bad light. The rest of us understand it's just luck, contractors misadventures and population that have put you there rather than us. Good luck, look after yourselves and your mental health, we've got way too many of you to see on the other side😘

Feeling for people back home in Melbourne.

As an ex-Melbournian its certainly sad and shocking to see. Try not to let any negativity about the rest of the country 'looking down at you' too much to heart. I've certainly not seen or heard any such comment from actual people I actually know; everyone I've spoken to only really expresses three things:1. Empathy and sorrow for people in Melbourne;2. Relief that its not the same for us;3. Recognition that there but for the grace of [insert deity if you must] go us.Perhaps I just associate with the right kind of people.
Personally, I think Melbourne and Victoria have probably handled this thing from the outset as well as, if not better, than any other state. Mistakes have happen, people have acted without due caution / irresponsibly at times (and presumably will continue to because you can't fix stupid) but nobody, no state, is immune from that. But that is not Melbournians, or Victorians - that's just individuals.
So I hope there will be lots of love coming to all you Victorians, and that you feel the love, because I honestly think that's what is out there.Stay strong, stay safe

Freaky thank you for forum post .

It is comforting to know that we are in people’s thoughts .
Obviously in these uncertain and most difficult times with isolation , loneliness , financial stress , home schooling , unemployment, some without touch , intimacy or a cuddle of reassurance there is increased anxiety , depression and mental health issues .
We are lucky and so far unscathed financially. That does not mean we don’t miss family , friends and life as we knew it .
Hopefully there is many out there like Freaky sending us positive thoughts . Trying to remember to be grateful for what we do have and looking forward to better times ahead when we can all be free to get together without fear and once again enjoy all life has to offer .
Be safe , be kind and take care everyone .
    A

I would also like to send my best wishes to everyone in Victoria. Yes you have copped a lot of shit from the rest of the country, and been the butt of a lot of jokes, but I think that most people understand that it's just luck that has played a big part in us not being in the same situation. All it would take is one or two undiagnosed cases running around the community, and we could very well be in the same situation in another month. I think most people are also taking this very seriously, even up here in Townsville there have been huge lines every day at the testing clinic.
Take care of yourselves down there and hopefully it won't be too much longer until you can get out and play again!

    Thanks FF.
Same opinion I always had of you, only enhanced even more. Love ya guts FF. Like you, its getting tough on the front line but I'm hanging in there. TO say I'm sick of the self centred, self entitled pieces of s@&%$!t going around like they own the joint spreading it willy nilly not caring is an understatement. I'm not a political person either but all the Dan Andrews bashing going on recently for everyone else's indiscretions is appauling, keyboard warrior stuff at its best.
On the whole though, most people are doing what they should be making my life at work almost normal and random acts of kindness abound helping elderly or sick neighbours, Keep going Victoria, we will get through this and get to fly interstate to see our RHP friends in person again

... and were still all australians wanting the best no matter what state your in.. I really feel for you poor bugga's in Vic . It wasnt too long ago we all pulled together and got control of this damn virus ' so what happened ? Probably a fair bit of complacency, and a whole lot of selfishness the biggest factors..?

I predicted early april that our biggest challenge would be in July / August.. and l wasnt wrong. These are the months the regular flu 's and colds usually take hold when everybodies resistance is shot . I thought those in the know would have some sort of contingency plan in place , but l thought wrong ?

Personally ' l feel the need to keep business's afloat is taking too much priority in these times opening the door to allow this damn virus time to do its thing. NZ bit the bullet and shut down and are now Covid free.. Dramatic action yes ' but the kiwis are not sick and dieing. The pressure big business is putting on our Premiers is massive and is why ( in my opinion ) they are reluctant to move to quick... Our Premiers need to act now ? not in a weeks time as we keep witnessing.. Sorry about the rant.. l only started this post to let our fellow aussies down south that we are all fighting the same fight and we feel your pain. Take care..

    ...without being "moderated"...

Nice words Freaky Fun...and all the other comments, thanks.
Its been a challenge, from first lock down in March, to anticipated end of Stage 4 restrictions = 6 months.
6 months as a single female, sole trader , residing alone.
    4 months of no income.
2 months @ around 10-15% of usual income.
    Thank goodness for Jobkeeper.

Biggest challenges todate...skin cancer check over the phone, no visuals.
Waiting 7 days for covid tests results...in total isolation, to be told, not enough DNA (must not be from this planet) and need to redo test...only 2 days second time round and all clear.
The all clear coming the same afternoon as next lock down.
Funny highlights....messages from guys who live within the 5 k radius restricted travel zone who now cant wait to get together.
Messages from guys in really HOT Zones ( not in a good way) who are prepared to travel.

Its been a mixed bag so far...but tolerable...still manage to have a laugh each day and just thankfull I dont have to homeschool kids and work for a boss at the same time.

We are still the mask wearing southern bandits. This is the new normal and will be for quite some time....months if not a year.

Was having a giggle with a friend the other night, talking about how ridiculous it might be once we can go to the beach again in summer....and that masks will be bigger than some of bikinis. The thought of the facial tan lines made us cry with laughter....ok.....it may have actually been hysteria but lets go with the first option 😆

Would have thought with the extended ISO and lockdowns in Victoria, some people would be feeling perhaps more lonely and more interested in having a conversation, with strangers they might otherwise date, or anyone decent that might not match their exact preferences (even if in-person dating is impractical or illegal lol).

But still essentially zip response/s across multiple sites, thinking maybe because men are in the same basket, that women are getting even more messages then before?

Thanks for checking on us FF, you are a gem. 😘 I can't speak for anyone else here, but I know for me, family & friends, we are reaching mental exhaustion. Those of us who are still going in to a workplace are constantly trying to maintain social distancing, correct mask wear, and hygiene hygiene hygiene. People are getting snappy, little things which go wrong become mountains, but we must go on. Sleep patterns are going a bit haywire; I've never been one to remember my dreams but the are front centre most mornings in 3D technocolour glory. It is exhausting, and feels endless. 😔

Dunno, still haven't found anyone new [possible dating scenario in the future] interested in any form of communication. Maybe the restrictions on travel, meaning even more place higher priority on finding people within a few kms, for now or later times. Generally tired of the effort and tired in general. Not even masturbating, been a week. Might help when the weather warms up, the cold is a disincentive to take any clothes off haha. Waiting till next year when it might be likely that in person meet and greets, and things like singles nights, might be happening again.

Need a long overdue break from work, kind of pointless to take one now when holiday travel is not possible. Would take a road trip again with my dog. Fast approaching 40, not sure if there's worries about that, and/or the obligatory birthday gathering that I know there is some planning for... (worried about feilding questions about achievements or lack thereof, and the past/present yadda yadda, when all the attention is on myself).

But, my classic car is nearly done, the cliched much-needed midlife crisis present lol!
