Sexpo Brisbane - New Management & Sexier Than Ever!!!

Bris Vegas peeps, the all new, sexier than ever, re-imagined, under new management SEXPO is comin' at ya August 2-4 (see that big red banner just below? Click that to get your hands on tickets before the masses snap em up!). That's right, Sexpo just got a massive upgrade with the legends over at Australian Exhibition Group (AEG) taking over the brand. We were lucky enough to have a chin wag with Kevin Mack, Director of AEG, to get the hot goss on what punters can expect from future Sexpos now that his uber-talented team is in charge! 




(RedHotPie) Kevin, thanks so much for having a chat with us! Let's jump straight into it - your group AEG has just taken over Sexpo, one of Australia’s most iconic expo names – how did the deal come about and what attracted you to the Sexpo brand?


(Kevin Mack - AEG Director) I have had my eyes on the Sexpo portfolio for a few years now. I have a vision for where I can take the brand and what we can deliver the Australian audience, and aim to introduce a new age of Sexpo. My company’s focus is based around entertainment and consumer shows, with our strength in creating exciting show features and elements to offer patrons a 3-day experience they look forward to yearly in their state. We have some great plans for the Sexpo brand and new identity.




Your group AEG has a great track record with the Australian Tattoo Expos, what experience and skills are you bringing from that market to revamp Sexpo?


We have had tremendous success with the Australian Tattoo Expos and the Rites of Passage Tattoo Festivals. We have a dynamic young team and I feel confident we can bring our creativity and unique show formats to the Sexpo portfolio. The Sexpo event series has a large and loyal existing fan base, and I think with our progressive teams’ creative direction and company values of delivering inclusive and exciting events, we will be able to create something for everyone.


So, to the question everyone will be asking – what’s going to change at Sexpo?


EVERYTHING!! We aim to completely reinvent the brand, which will include bringing all new features and entertainment, design elements and even the shows layout. We will retain some of the elements which the existing fan base love, but we are very excited to bring new features to the event.




Can you give us the inside scoop on the biggest attractions at Brisbane Sexpo, your first show at the helm?


We are very excited to be bringing an entirely new line-up of world class performers to the Sexpo stage. Highlights include the Fuel Girls, who are bringing their world-famous fire and aerial shows to the stage all the way from London and, of course, the boys from Magic Men. We’re also excited to be showcasing performance artist, Raven, who will be bringing his unique “boylesque” act to the show, as well as the Pussy Play workshop by Miss Firm 2019 winner, Strawberry Siren, which will prove to be both hilarious and informative. We’re excited to bring new performances to the Sexpo audiences, but we’ll be keeping fan favourites such as the Amateur Strip Competitions and performances by Miss Nude Australia.


Will punters still be able to get their sexy shopping done at Sexpo?


Absolutely, we have re-created the layout and we are now working tirelessly to add vendors of the highest quality brand and unique products you’ll only find at Sexpo. Our goal is to have a shopping zone with products you would not be able to source locally.


What do you have in store for other cities around Australia?


We will operate the remaining two shows of 2019 with major changes and then head into 2020 with a MASSIVE touring show with world class entertainment, stars, interactive zones, workshops and seminars. We aim to bring Sexpo to every major city, EVERY year - that’s right, every year. The circuit includes Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth, and we are excited to return to Adelaide 2121.




What do you want to do with the Sexpo brand long term?


We aim to create a new experience for the Australian audience. Sexpo was once Australia’s largest consumer show, with over 68,000 patrons attending each event. We want to revive the event and create something new which is more progressive, inclusive and in line what Australian audiences want to see from an event that celebrates that health and sexuality. We will regain the title of Australia’s largest and most enjoyable exhibition experience.


We’re going to be running amok with the RedHotPie party girls at Sexpo this year – there'll be photo ops and the usual shenanigans, and we’ll also be hosting the hottest sexperts for the RedHotPie Sex Sessions at Brisbane Sexpo August 2-4 and in Melbourne November 8 – 10! Sydney and Perth, you’ll get your fill in 2020, and Adelaide you're up in 2021, so stay tuned! We’ll see you sexy kids there!
